Harvard physicists have measured magnetic moment of a single antimatter particle by raja_2000in science

[–]txciggy 0 points1 point ago

If this were the case, then there would be a boundary somewhere in the universe where the matter and antimatter meet.

I know this may seem dumb, but if "matter going one way and antimatter being pushed the other way?", how would they meet at some boundary?

I agree. Along with patient's migration status, State's affiliation to certain pro-life dogmas plays a huge role in the ranking.

'pregnancies that resulted in abortion' makes more sense.

Well I guess I misunderstood the figures in parenthesis not being pregnancies per thousand, but actually pregnancies that resulted in abortions.

I find it visually misleading the way they used parenthesis in this case.

While looking up stats, it got me a little confused:

States ranked by rates of pregnancy among women age 15-19 (pregnancies per thousand):

Nevada (113)

Arizona (104)

Mississippi (103)

New Mexico (103)

Texas (101)

Florida (97)

California (96)

Georgia (95)

North Carolina (95)

Arkansas (93)

and

States ranked by rates of abortion among women age 15-19 (pregnancies per thousand):

New Jersey (47)

New York (46)

Maryland (38)

Nevada (36)

California (36)

Hawaii (34)

Florida (33)

Delaware (31)

Connecticut (30)

Illinois (27)

  • Why aren't the numbers in parenthesis matching if both are pregnancies per thousand
  • Why are the lists so different?

Did Earth reach its equilibrium? I hear the Earth's circumference is increasing. Not sure how much of this data is factored into global warming cause and affect.

Oh suck it up! what next? A premium flight that doesn't allow old farts who stink up the aisle for 5 straight hours or obnoxious drunk 50 yo men and 15 yo teens who worsen the already torturous flight experience.

(Not a parent, not a little fart, not an old fart, just a fucking commuter)

India's selective rage over corruption by [deleted]in india

[–]txciggy 9 points10 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

The author clearly missed the point when he was busy whining about middle class indulging in bribery. Bribery has become a 'norm' not because people have a choice. Indians are smart enough to recognize that it is not worth waiting 1 year to get a passport which should otherwise not take more than couple of weeks. The system is flawed and an average Indian cannot run her life at a snail's pace because of an inefficient and corrupt system. Moral strong heads will obviously argue that every individual needs to take steps against corruption. Clearly this hasn't worked out for 64 years. What this system needs is awareness and a collective stand point, not individual noble men. Anna's bill is the first step.

Which one is a better stimulant for an economy? lower cost per unit or higher wages? I would think the former would attract investors and manufacturers from wold over and hence increase GDP. Latter would increase wages and spur spending. Not sure which is better?
