Ed Helms goes to my church, and my parents won this a year ago at a church auction. My favorite episode too! by KurtGriffinin DunderMifflin

I guess that makes more sense, but not by much. Are they also against single people adopting? Weirdos...

Are there seriously groups of people against adoption? Do you mean abortion?

Minnesota House bill to legalize same sex marriage (x-post /r/minnesota) by sayitallin TwinCities

You might just be hanging out in the wrong places. This article states that Minneapolis has near the highest percentage of homosexuals at 12.5%, and that we were named the "gayest city" by some magazine a couple years ago.

The beginning of this trailer reminds me of the Dao. Any thoughts on Beasts of the Southern Wild? by sayitallin taoism

[–]sayitall[S] 1 point2 points ago

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I see your point that from a Daoist perspective, it's inconsistent to think of pieces of the whole in that fashion. I guess my initial interpretation of the quote had more to do with the interdependence in nature, as I've heard Alan Watts describe in explaining the Dao, and I wondered if that theme was somehow carried throughout the movie. Doesn't sound like it, but I do still plan to check it out.

I have not yet seen the movie, but this is the line that rang a bell. Perhaps it is really only the first sentence that has any relation to Daoism.

"The whole universe depends on everything fitting together just right. If one piece busts, even the smallest piece, the entire universe will gets busted."

I am interested to see how you debunk the "Never run with scissors" cliché and whether the national number of reported stab wounds increases with sales of your book.

For the 2011 Secret Santa record, you could/can order one for like $20, but we haven't achieved the record for largest greeting card exchange yet! On the other hand, I'm not even sure there is currently one in the books.

Real quick, you could explain Gorilla Warfare and how it's different from Guerrilla Warfare? Oh! Is Gorilla Warfare when you use special tactics to ambush a large group of primates? 'cause that's not cool man.
