One can easily travel around Minorca by car. There is a very little traffic outside the bigger cities like Mahon and Ciutadella.

By Air:
Minorca Airport or Mahon Airport is the main airport of Minorca. It is located at around 4.5 kilometers to the southwest of Mahon city, which is a large port and the island's capital. The airport offers its services for 35 cities and 36 airports and it receives flights from around 48 airline companies (July 2006).
Name of some companies, which serve Mahon Airport:
Air Berlin, Air Europa, British Airways, Condor Airlines, easyJet, Flyglobespan, LTU International, Iberia, Air Nostrum, Lagun Air, Monarch Airlines, Spanair, TUI fly, Vueling Airlines.
Plenty of companies offer the option of renting a car from the main terminal building of the airport to reach the city. Taxis are available as well just outside the main arrivals hall. Also from Mahon Airport, you can take a bus that runs throughout the day to Mahon bus station.
By Water:
Minorca island has regular ferries from both mainland Spain and Majorca. It is easily accessible by sea from Alcudia and Cala Ratjada in Majorca via the port of Ciutadella. Barcelona, Palma de Majorca and Valencia are also accessible from the port of Mahon.
Get around:
The main interior road link is Mahon to Ciutadella which passes through Alaior, Es Mercadal and Ferreries. Sant Luis, Es Castell have the road links to Mahon and Fornells in the North and Es Migjorn Gran in the south are linked to the main road. Minorca island has a wide network of rural roads which lead to the coast and to various prehistoric monuments.
Taxi:
This is the most popular and comfortable mode of transport on Minorca island. Also, plenty of car rental companies are available to serve tourists.
Bus:
Various private bus companies offer their services, which cover all major routes on the island. Buses from the main Plaza in Ciutadella run to most of the Western beach towns and buses from Ferreries, Alaior, Mahon run to Sant Luis and all of the beach towns in the East.
Motorbikes / bicycle:
Cycle lanes exist on some minor roads. The island has some country roads, which are perfect for the relaxed cyclers. Motorbikes are also a suitable and effective mean of transport to discover the island.
