About the composer:
Søren Bebe is considered one of the leading pianists and composers on the European scene of jazz and contemporary music. Born in Odense, Denmark, on December 5th, 1975, Søren Bebe took his first piano lesson at age 8.
In 2004 he graduated from the Royal Danish Conservatory in Aarhus with an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Music.
Søren Bebe has released several jazz records as well as ballet class music albums and performs very regularly on the international concert circuit.
Esbjörn Svensson and Tord Gustavsen are the two most often mentioned when describing the sound of Bebe’s piano playing and compositions.
And yet Bebe has a style all of his own: warm, intensely melodic and frequently playful, but always underscored by an unshowy lightness of touch with just a hint of Scandinavian melancholy.

“Bebe certainly belongs to the tradition of lyrical pianists that goes from Erroll Garner and
Bill Evans through Keith Jarrett. What Bebe adds to the lyrical tradition of the piano is a

As a composer Søren has written mostly for own projects but also commissioned work for the Danish theater "Team Teateret" as well as a large piece for the National Gallery of Denmark.
In 2012 Søren Bebe received a working grant from the Danish Arts Council.
As a freelance accompanist for dance Søren has worked among other places at the Royal Danish Ballet, The Danish National School of Performing Arts, Dansehallerne and The Pantomime Theatre in Tivoli.

SUMMARY OF BALLET
ACT 1
PROLOGUE
Under the mighty oak singer-storyteller Bayan playing the harp ... Ruslan and Lyudmila meet at wide oak crown. Their love is a mystery to all, and in the morning Ludmila must choose a husband.
I PICTURE
The Grand Duke Gridnitsa Svetozar festive excitement. All are looking forward to what the future husband will choose Lyudmila. There are brides Princess: arrogant knight Farlaf Varangian and Khazar prince Ratmir dreamy. Ratmir pursues Gorislava in love with him in prayer to give up the idea to intermarry with the Prince of Kiev.
That's Ruslan. Rivals look suspiciously at each other. Lyudmila appears. Her choice is made for a long time. The brigade and Prince praise the young couple. Wedding ceremony begins. Young honorably administered under the canopy ... Thunder ... Lightning ...
There is a sinister figure Chernomor. All frozen. Enchanted Ludmila Chernomor freezes. An evil sorcerer with his prisoner disappear.
Mark woke up. Lyudmila no. Ruslan desperate. Svetozar promises to his wife Lyudmila to those who return to their daughter. All three knight sworn to do so. Rivals leave Kiev.

Ruslan goes through the forest and comes to the home of good Finn. The owner meets Ruslan welcome. The smoke of the fire magic Ruslan and Lyudmila sees Chernomor. Ruslan thanks Finn and goes to look for the castle of Chernomor.
Naina Farlaf traps. She promises him Lyudmila. Coward ready for anything. His joy is no limit. Naina give him what he wanted: a soft bed and a table with dishes. Struck wine and gluttony, he falls asleep, forgetting about Lyudmila.
PICTURE 3
Ruslan takes the field: there are traces of blood Sech, the remains of heroes. Death Valley produces a painful impression. Ruslan tired. Doubts gnaw at him. Naidu whether Ludmilla, and can, Padua, these obscure soldiers? Suddenly sees Ruslan hill when it comes to life the splendor of the moon - before the knight's head. Gorislava relentlessly follows Ratmir, but it is inexorable. He wants to find Lyudmila, although Gorislava him a mile and closer, but the stubbornness of a proud prince infinitely. You hear the sound of the horn. This is a fight Ruslan Chernomor. Warlock enchants Lyudmila and bares his sword. A short but fierce battle, and the dwarf takes Ruslan under clouds.

Ballet

Ruslan and Ludmila
Ruslan and Ludmila (Russian: Руслан и Людмила; Ruslan i Lyudmila) is a poem by Alexander Pushkin, published in 1820. It is written as an epic fairy tale consisting of a dedication (посвящение), six "cantos" (песни), and an epilogue (эпилог). It tells the story of the abduction of Ludmila, the daughter of Prince Vladimir of Kiev, by an evil wizard and the attempt by the brave knight Ruslan to find and rescue her.
Origin
Pushkin began writing the poem in 1817, while attending the Imperial Lyceum at Tsarskoye Selo. He based it on Russian folktales he had heard as a child. Before it was published in 1820, Pushkin was exiled to the south of Russia for political ideas he had expressed in other works such as his ode to "Freedom” (вольность). A slightly revised edition was published in 1828.
Adaptations
The poem was the basis of an opera of the same name composed by Mikhail Glinka between 1837 and 1842.
A feature film based on the poem was produced in the Soviet Union in 1972, directed by Aleksandr Ptushko and starring Valeri Kozinets and Natalya Petrova as the title characters. Other film versions include a 1915 silent produced by the Russian production company Khanzhonkov, directed by Wladyslaw Starewicz, and a 1996 made-for-TV version based on Glinka's opera, directed by Hans Hulscher and produced by NHK.

About the composer:
Søren Bebe is considered one of the leading pianists and composers on the European scene of jazz and contemporary music. Born in Odense, Denmark, on December 5th, 1975, Søren Bebe took his first piano lesson at age 8.
In 2004 he graduated from the Royal Danish Conservatory in Aarhus with an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Music.
Søren Bebe has released several jazz records as well as ballet class music albums and performs very regularly on the international concert circuit.
Esbjörn Svensson and Tord Gustavsen are the two most often mentioned when describing the sound of Bebe’s piano playing and compositions.
And yet Bebe has a style all of his own: warm, intensely melodic and frequently playful, but always underscored by an unshowy lightness of touch with just a hint of Scandinavian melancholy.

“Bebe certainly belongs to the tradition of lyrical pianists that goes from Erroll Garner and
Bill Evans through Keith Jarrett. What Bebe adds to the lyrical tradition of the piano is a

As a composer Søren has written mostly for own projects but also commissioned work for the Danish theater "Team Teateret" as well as a large piece for the National Gallery of Denmark.

Ruslan goes through the forest and comes to the home of good Finn. The owner meets Ruslan welcome. The smoke of the fire magic Ruslan and Lyudmila sees Chernomor. Ruslan thanks Finn and goes to look for the castle of Chernomor.
Naina Farlaf traps. She promises him Lyudmila. Coward ready for anything. His joy is no limit. Naina give him what he wanted: a soft bed and a table with dishes. Struck wine and gluttony, he falls asleep, forgetting about Lyudmila.

Ruslan takes the field: there are traces of blood Sech, the remains of heroes. Death Valley produces a painful impression. Ruslan tired. Doubts gnaw at him. ACT 1
PROLOGUE
Under the mighty oak singer-storyteller Bayan playing the harp ... Ruslan and Lyudmila meet at wide oak crown. Their love is a mystery to all, and in the morning Ludmila must choose a husband.
I PICTURE
The Grand Duke Gridnitsa Svetozar festive excitement. All are looking forward to what the future husband will choose Lyudmila. There are brides Princess: arrogant knight Farlaf Varangian and Khazar prince Ratmir dreamy. Ratmir pursues Gorislava in love with him in prayer to give up the idea to intermarry with the Prince of Kiev.
That's Ruslan. Rivals look suspiciously at each other. Lyudmila appears. Her choice is made for a long time. The brigade and Prince praise the young couple. Wedding ceremony begins. Young honorably administered under the canopy ... Thunder ... Lightning ...
There is a sinister figure Chernomor. All frozen. Enchanted Ludmila Chernomor freezes. An evil sorcerer with his prisoner disappear.
Mark woke up. Lyudmila no. Ruslan desperate. Svetozar promises to his wife Lyudmila to those who return to their daughter. All three knight sworn to do so. Rivals leave Kiev.

Ruslan goes through the forest and comes to the home of good Finn. The owner meets Ruslan welcome. The smoke of the fire magic Ruslan and Lyudmila sees Chernomor. Ruslan thanks Finn and goes to look for the castle of Chernomor.
Naina Farlaf traps. She promises him Lyudmila. Coward ready for anything. His joy is no limit. Naina give him what he wanted: a soft bed and a table with dishes. Struck wine and gluttony, he falls asleep, forgetting about Lyudmila.

Ruslan takes the field: there are traces of blood Sech, the remains of heroes. Death Valley produces a painful impression. Ruslan tired. Doubts gnaw at him.
