Woodcarving exposition of Thai sculpture and artworks in conventional Lanna style created by carver artisans in authentic Burmese teakwood. ศศินันท์ สุนิสา กลีบรัง sasinan sunisa kleebrang SCULPTURE: The first known sculptures are from the Indus Valley civilization (3300--1700 BC), found in sites at Mohenjo-daro and Harappa in modern-day Pakistan. These are among the earliest known instances of sculpture in the world. Later, as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism developed further, India produced bronzes and stone carvings of great intricacy, such as the famous temple carvings which adorn various Hindu, Jain and Buddhist shrines. Some of these, such as the cave temples of Ellora and Ajanta, are examples of Indian rock-cut architecture, perhaps the largest and most ambitious sculptural schemes in the world. WOODCARVING is a form of working wood by means of a cutting tool held in the hand (this may be a power tool), resulting in a wooden figure or figurine (this may be abstract in nature) or in the sculptural ornamentation of a wooden object. TEAKWOOD: Genuine Burmese Teak its Latin name is "Tectona Grandis Linn". Original northern Thai (Lanna) food @ Huen Phen
Original northern Thai (Lanna) food @ Huen Phen
Today, Open Chiang Mai come along with Huen Phen, the second branch. located on Rajapruek road, near the entrance of Rajapruek Royal Park in Hang Dong, the south of Chiang Mai. Not too far from Chiang Mai, just only 15 minute from Chiang Mai International Airport with Chiang Mai -- Hod Route. Huen Phen is a good authentic local food restaurant, For over 40 years, this restaurant has been run by the owner herself "Khun Phen", making all the finest dishes of northern food. The first specialty is "Kao Soi" (- Chiang Mai style curry noodles -), an egg-noodle in beef / chicken / pork curry with crispy fried noodles on top. The broth was pretty hard with some serious spice, serving with side dishes (- pickled cabbage, lime, shallots and chili in oil -) Another recommended dish is Som Tam Thai Sai Pu, a spicy traditional Thai papaya salad with small crabs. Some of other specialties are as delicious as Kao Soi and Som Tum, such as tasty fried Sai Ooua (- northern style sausage -), Kab Moo (- crispy pork skin -) dipping with spicy Num Phrik Noom (- traditional northern style paste dip -). All dishes used quality ingredients and are made with careful attention; the results are finest and impressive dishes!! Open Chiang Mai recommend that Huen Phen is the BEST place to have an original northern Thai (Lanna) food in a very reasonable price. Nice decoration full of antique pieces , food original Lanna taste. Enjoy!!!

"A Lanna Trilogy" DVD Trailer - Muay Thai Boxing in Thailand
"A Lanna Trilogy" DVD Trailer - Muay Thai Boxing in Thailand
Buy it here: www.muaythailand.com I produced this DVD in 2005 and have sold it from my website www.muaythailand.com since then but have only just got round to making a trailer for it. Not that it's anything particularly special, just a montage of footage set to music, but still, it shows the variety of information that the DVD contains. The DVD is about everything to do with living and training at the Lanna Muay Thai boxing camp in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. Of my 3 stays at Lanna I have spent a total of 7 months there and gathered over 20 hours of footage which I edited into this rather tight DVD. Even though the film is a few years old now its information is still as relevant as it ever was. And even if you're not planning on going to Lanna yourself this DVD is still very entertaining and interesting. IF I MAY SAY SO MYSELF! Personally I think that you should go to http and order yourself a copy. In fact get one for your grandma too. She'll love it!
