Explore - Argentina - Patagonia to the Pampas 1 of 4 - BBC Travel Documentary, recorded 12.02.2011 Simon Reeve leads a team of presenters on a journey through the spectacular landscapes of Argentina, from the vast ice fields of Patagonia to the wide-open plains of the pampas. In the south, a group of indigenous people are locked in a historic dispute with the area's biggest landowners, Italian clothing giants Benetton; in Buenos Aires, the children of the disappeared are seeking to find out the truth of what happened to their parents at the hands of Argentina's generals; and in the pampas we meet one of the last true gauchos, whose way of life is being destroyed by an argricultural revolution. On the way, we take in one of the greatest matches in world football, visit a penguin colony on the edge, and meet a bishop with a rather unorthodox interest in Evita.

La Pampa y la Puna - Peruvian Music serie. Kinsa Trio
La Pampa y la Puna is a short piece written by Peruvian composer Carlos Valderrama (1887-1950). Originally for voice and piano, I made this arrangement for my new Kinsa Trio (Belgium). This is the first of three Peruvian pieces we filmed specially for YouTube ("Himno al Sol" and "El Condor Pasa" are coming soon!). ________________________________________ In this video, Kinsa Trio is: Aygul Pribylovskaya, cello Marco Antonio Mazzini, clarinet&bass clarinet Ward De Vleeschhouwer, piano ________________________________________ Visit on the Internet: www.warddevleeschhouwer.com www.clariperu.org

Diablos de la Pampa-Gaucho show
Diablos de la Pampa-Gaucho show
The spectacular Gauchos (cowboys) of the Pampa, Full of strength and courage, Fireballs, the aptly named bolas, flying ponchos, cracking lances and perfectly choreographed drum scenes. Breathtakingly quick and full of energy Diablos de la Pampa is a marvellous gaucho performance created by the artists Milton Manica and Galina Georgieva Manica. These modern acts are inspired by the gaucho culture in the South of Brazil, Uruguay and Argentine. Gauchos are cowboys who live in South America. The skill of Milton and Gala, the strength with their bows and whips to the rhythm of the drums, the footwork, the wind on their capes, the passion and the sensual acts along with the elegance of the performers fill the audience with a great excitement. In 2009 Diablos de la Pampa win the 1st Prize of the Festival d'Arts i Serveis artístics in Torredembarra (Spain) www.diablosdelapampa.com

Milonga Triste - Blues from the pampas - Atahualpa Yupanqui
Milonga Triste - Blues from the pampas - Atahualpa Yupanqui
Atahualpa Yupanqui (1908-1992) is regarded as the greatest interpreter of Argentinian folklore. As a singer, guitarist, composer and poet he left us works which bring us closer to the musical soul of South America. He was born in the Argentinian pampas, about 200km away from Buones Aires. Baptized Hector Roberto Chavero Aramburu, he later adopted - in a bow to two legendary Inca kings - the stage name Atahualpa Yupanqui which became famous around the world. This milonga, although a dance, is full of melancholy of the wide open pampas...my use of the word blues is tongue in cheek of course... and a South American song needs a fitting hat called "the optimo"... This song was composed by H. Manzi and Sebastian Piana TABLATURE AVAILABLE : check out my playlist TABLATURE for how and where

Robert Taylor - Savage Pampas (1966) A
Savage Pampas, set in 1870's Argentina, It's a remake of the 1945 Argentine film, Pampa Bárbara (also directed by Hugo Fregonese) and although it was classified as western, It has a lot more to do with epic than western. It was filmed on location in Spain, in 70mm Super-Panorama, in English language (the Spanish and Argentine actors were dubbed). When it was released on vhs, original aspect ratio was not respected, the same happens here, this copy was recorded from TV . Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it.

Pampas Obliteration
Pampas Obliteration
Controlling Pampas using water only! (c)2008 Hydro_Mechanical_Obliteration (H_M_O) CAMERONCOLSON Dba. CAMCO (SM) Saratoga CA 95070 408-205-5757 TO: Distribution TOPIC: Understanding H_M_O sm FOR: General Release The acronym H_M_Osm stands for a water based process known as Hydro_Mechanical_Obliteration. The purpose of H_M_Osm is to reduce, eliminate, or abate; noxious, invasive, and flammable weeds and grasses using a non-chemical process previously unavailable anywhere. Today vegetation control and fire prevention is a global problem for a whole host of reasons. Wildland grass fires are a major issue for the western states. Grass fires are the fuses to the bomb, igniting brush land with high fuel loads that then explode into uncontrolled fires. Currently, Vegetation managers and property owners use a multi-step process for controlling weeds. In the past, weed managers and landowners have mostly sprayed herbicides. Why in most cases are herbicides used before mowing? The answer: Mowers and strimmers clog and become ineffective when cutting green grass materials. The use of herbicides prior to mowing is to kill the grasses in order to dry out the weeds before cutting. This "brown and cut" procedure is a required process function of integrated vegetation management that is needed to obtain efficiency and economies of scale. Then subsequent to the current process of spraying herbicides and performing the required mowing process, the current process is followed by collection ...

Entry from: The Pampas, Argentina Entry Title: "Estancia El Venado - The Pampas" Entry: "Three days of relaxation in a working ranch in the Pampas - couldn't wait. Not that I'd exactly been worn out with my visit to Sao Paulo but I was just feeling a bit tired. I could feel it was coming to the time when I needed to get back to my own bed. Not that I didn't enjoy the random sleeping arrangements of the past 3 months but I had begun to yearn for somewhere where I didn't have to watch my bag and valuables 24/7, home basically. But before that, and believe me I had no desire to wish away the remaining days of this trip, I had embarked on another "once in a lifetime" treat... aka a stay in an estancia in the pampas. I'd done a bit of research online and had settled on Estancia El Venado (www.estanciaelvanado.net). It looked amazing on the website, it's prices were affordable to me for a short break and the people who managed it seemed to have personality. For my payment I had a beautiful room in the estancia, all meals and drink provided for free and the opportunity to take advantage of the many horses (over 250!) roaming the grounds and a swimming pool to boot. Absolutely amazing. All this approximately 170 km from Buenos Aires. My first mistake was to get into the wrong car. I had got a bus from Buenos ...
