JJ DOOM - Banished (Beck Remix)

Included in the upcoming deluxe reissue of last year's Keys To The Cuff, the collaborative effort from DOOM and Jneiro Jarel, are several curious remixes, included this distorted version of "Banished" from Beck(!). Also included in the reissue, titled Keys To The Cuff: Butter Edition are remixes from Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood, Dave Sitek, and Clams Casino, which comes out August 20 on Lex Records.

New Beck - I Won't Be Long

It's been too long, guys. Nearly five years since the release of Modern Guilt, Beck has strayed pretty far from the formal studio productions. Yes, he released Song Reader last year, but that was just sheet music without any formal discretion of how Beck originally performed the material.

Finally, the 42-year-old musician is set to return in the form most of us are familiar with - with two studio LP's coming out later this year. Unlike "Defriended," however, the gorgeous "I Won't Be Long" will not be included on either album. Regardless, it's great, and ready to stream below.

"I Won't Be Long" will be distributed as a 12" July 8, which will include a 14-minute extended version as the B-Side. Pre-order here.

Finally, some Lollapalooza rumors

This time last year, we already knew a handful of headliners and sub-headliners for Chicago's Lollapalooza, so waiting until mid-February was a bit boring.

Until today, the only rumors shifting through for the festival have been off-hand suspicions of Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers, among other headliners clinging to festivals like Sasquatch! and Coachella. And while those aforementioned rumors for Metallica seem to have some legitimacy now, a few other names have been 'leaked.' Now, these still are not confirmations, so don't take them as such, but they are much more likely as of today, via Consequence of Sound.

Suspected headlining acts like Jack White, Beck (who hasn't played the festival in a surprising 15 years), and Sigur Ros are among the names, of which also include Swedish House Mafia. Personally, Metallica and SHM don't really do anything for me, but are big names regardless. The others, however, make this year seem pretty exciting. It's good to finally hear that.

As always, check back for more rumors as they come.

Friday Bears: Sasquatch! 2012 lineup revealed

Sasquatch!, held every year in the Pacific Northwest, isn't regarded as one of the bigger music festivals in the United States, but is usually regarded as one of the best.

Last year, festival organizers enlisted the talents of the Foo Fighters, Wilco, Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, and lot more over the course of four (yes, four) days. While that may be fairly impressive for what isn't regarded as one of the year's bigger events, this year's does boast a fairly heavy - although not as top-heavy - lineup, which you can read in it's entirety here.

Notables in this year's lineup include, but are not limited to Jack White, whose solo album is set to debut a few weeks before the fest, and is the first confirmed show of the ex-White Stripe. Alongside White will be Bon Iver, who seem to be on pace to play every festival this year, the ever-elusive Beck, The Shins, Tenacious D, The Roots, and native heroes Shabazz Palaces, among many others, including comedy acts.

Tickets are on sale now for $315. The event will take place May 25-28

Wednesday Bears: Beck and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the live-action take on the celebrated comic series, is due in theaters August 13. For those who aren't familiar with it, it stars Michael Cera as the aforementioned Scott Pilgrim, and his quest to stay with Ramona Flowers and so on and blah bleh bah. In the film, Pilgrim's band Sex Bo-Omb sings over pre-recorded tracks from artists like The Black Lips and Broken Social Scene.

Some tracks, however, didn't make cut it in the film-version, including Beck's two-minute-plus 90's garage fuzz diddy "Summertime." You can listen to the stream below, along with a couple Pilgrim-related trailers.

The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World soundtrack is available now.

Wednesday Bears: Yo La Tengo on La Blogotheque

New Jersey alternative hall of famer's Yo La Tengo made their first performance on everyone's favorite music video website La Blogotheque yesterday, performing slow acoustic melody's from their recently released Popular Songs LP.

The clearly aging indie icons play their slow songs in front of likely confused French children playing in a park and in a damp alley, while throwing rousing renditions of "Sugarcube," stirring the sparkling noise of acoustics through the hollow echoes of a garage, and the new Beck-esque "Periodically Double or Triple" down the cobble-stone streets of Paris.

Despite their age and reclusive habits, the band still stands as one of the most pure eclectic music machine's ever. The trio will perform at New York's Roseland Ballroom September 25 with Atlanta garage-punk heroes the Black Lips before heading out on their Fall world tour.
