BA Great Britons - 'The Dove' aircraft time-lapse video
BA Great Britons - 'The Dove' aircraft time-lapse video
As part of our BA Great Britons programme, designer Pascal Anson was chosen to create a unique aircraft livery to celebrate London 2012. His beautiful design is based on a dove, the symbol of peace. Tens of thousands of customers travelling to Europe over the next year will have the chance to fly on one of nine celebratory 'Dove' aircrafts, created by artist-designer Pascal from Brighton. His mentor, Turner-prize nominated artist Tracey Emin, unveiled the first Dove at British Airways engineering bay on 3 April 2012. His design is all encompassing of the livery, using the cockpit for its beak, fuselage and wings for its main body and wings, and the tailfin as its tail. The aircraft will be painted white with gold strokes of paint to represent the feathers. Doves are internationally recognised as a symbol of peace and social unity, and were also used in previous Olympic Games ceremonies, including the last London Games in 1948. BA Great Britons mentor, Tracey Emin said: "The first time I saw Pascal's design it made me smile. The plane is universal. Everyone will understand it. I like the way it brings back the excitement of travel too. I will constantly be looking up every time I hear a plane fly over -- you never know, maybe I will turn into a plane spotter!" British Airways Pilot Recruitment
British Airways Pilot Recruitment
This video is to provide anyone interested in becoming a British Airways pilot with some information on our pilot recruitment plans, with personal insights from some of our pilots. (continue reading below) Please note: the minimum educational requirements for the Future Pilot Programme are detailed on our website, www.bafuturepilot.com *************************************************************************** We plan to take on more than 800 new pilots by 2016, using three combined recruitment programmes: - A new programme to help people to train to become airline pilots for the first time, called the 'Future Pilot Programme'. - Recruitment of qualified pilots from other airlines - A joint initiative with the UK Armed Forces to provide military pilots with a planned career path into commercial aviation. Our Future Pilot Programme will help about 400 applicants to gain a place at an approved flight training school, with successful candidates landing a job as a British Airways pilot, with the remaining 400 from experienced commercial and military pilots. Previously people have been prevented or deterred from starting a career as an airline pilot, due to the initial private training costs of around £100000, which they have had to find themselves. This programme helps students to secure funding to train as a pilot which they can pay back later in their career. The details and requirements for anyone interested in applying for the BA Future Pilot Programme should be taken ...

British Airways A320 - Pushback engine start, taxi, and takeoff from London Heathrow FULL HD 1080p
subscribe for more aviation videos! This was the departure at 7:35AM on the 24th of December flying on BA0762. I had a layover in Heathrow from the night before, and had an amazing time watching the active from my hotel room. The flight was de-iced, and departed the gate on-time. The crew went out of their way in all fields, and at the end of the flight I was allowed to talk to the pilot/co-pilot and take some pictures as seen in the intro of the video. The departure was absolutely breathtaking, the flight took off right as the sun was bleeding the horizon. We proceeded to climb to flight level 410, or 41000ft. We flew over downtime london, then proceeded directly across the North Ocean toward Norway. ATC in Norway were helpful, and cleared us direct as soon as we entered the SID. Overall, an awesome flight! I'll be sure to fly with BA again in the future. British Airways Advert 2011: To Fly. To Serve. (HD)
British Airways - To Fly. To Serve. See how these four words have guided us in the past and will lead us in to the future Join the conversation at www.facebook.com Transcript: Those first young men, the pioneers, the aviators building super highways in an unknown sky. Leaving wives and children in their snug homes, with just a kiss and a promise to return. Roaring into the clouds to battle wind and stars. Their safety systems built of brain and heart. They landed where there were no lights. Transforming strange names from tall tales into pictures on postcards home. And those next young men, travelling further, faster, higher than any in history and the ones who followed them, who skimmed the edge of space, the edge of heaven, the edge of dreams. (Speedbird 1, Speedbird 1.... cleared for take off) And we follow them up there to live by an unbreakable promise. The same four words stitched into every uniform of every captain who takes their command. To Fly. To Serve.
