Former NBA player and on-air basketball analyst Greg Anthony has been suspended by CBS indefinitely, the Associated Press reports. The decision came after he was arrested on solicitation charges on Friday, Jan. 16.

"Greg Anthony will not be working again for CBS this season," a CBS spokeswoman said on Saturday, Jan. 17. There will be "no further comment."

According to a police report, Anthony's arrest was part of an undercover prostitution operation. He was arrested in a Washington, D.C. hotel room, which was located less than a mile from the White House.

Anthony, 47, was released from custody on Friday, Jan. 16. On Saturday, he issued an apology. "With this lapse of judgment, I embarrassed many, including myself," he said, via Yahoo News. "I will work to regain the trust that I have lost, and the first step is saying that I am sorry."

Anthony joined CBS in 2008 and is dad to two children with wife Chere Lucas. He also has two children from a previous marriage. If convicted, he can face up to 90 days in jail.
