Talk Radio (1988) final scenes and credits
The last 10 minutes of Oliver Stone's "Talk Radio" (including the closing credits) are some of the most memorable ever. Notice how as he talks to his co-worker on the way out, you can hear the "Dr Laura" type host beginning her show in the background, and discussing the "mentally disturbed individual" that she just saw in the parking lot, with Barry paying no attention to the clue that could save his life. The shooter is played by Rockets Redglare, also seen in several Jim Jarmusch films of that period (and alleged by some to be the true killer of Nancy Spungen). The final audio montage, in which callers and colleagues and friends give their last comments on how they feel about Barry's killing, is brilliantly written and voice-acted (as was the entire film's cast of unseen callers), plus there is extensive helicopter camera footage showing a stunning neon Dallas at night. I love this film and this finale! BARRY'S AUDIENCE REACTS TO HIS ASSASSINATION (OVER THE END CREDITS): "You come on down to these parts, you start telling people their business and insulting their race, you end up like Champlain, I'll tell you that right now." "I listened to his show the night that he was killed. There was this drug-crazed kid bothering him. When people smoke that crack stuff, they go berserk, you know? I hope they catch that kid. But they ought to listen to that show. He was on the air. I didn't think he was gonna get shot or anything, but that show was strange." "I mean, I got to be on ...

Talk Radio (film, 1988) - Película "La Radio Ataca"
www.elclandelanostalgia.blogspot.com Talk Radio is a 1988 film, starring Eric Bogosian as a controversial "shock jock". It is directed by Oliver Stone, and is based in combination on the play by Eric Bogosian and Tad Savinar and on the real life murder of radio host Alan Berg by Neo-Nazis, which was chronicled in the book, Talked to Death: The Life and Murder of Alan Berg by Stephen Singular. Plot summary Barry Champlain, a Jewish radio personality in Dallas, Texas, is a host with a sense of humor and a knack for cutting people down and having controversial, often libertarian political views. Champlain's radio show is about to go nationwide. A former suit salesman, he achieves his rise to fame through a guest shot on the Jeff Fisher radio show. He is subsequently given his own show. Barry has a substantial number of hostile callers trying to intimidate him and sometimes receives threatening fan mail, such as when one caller makes a bomb threat. His rise to fame is accompanied not only with attention from radical elements, but also with the alienation of his wife. Barry eventually vents his emotions on the audience, telling them how much he despises them. Cast * Eric Bogosian ... Barry Champlain * Ellen Greene ... Ellen * Leslie Hope ... Laura * John C. Talk Radio (1988) Trailer
Why does Talk Radio feel so bland and lifeless? Eric Bogosian anchors the film with a great performance as Barry Champlain, a Tom Leykis/Howard Stern-style shock jock. Oliver Stone, an energetic filmmaker who never shies away from going a few hundred degrees over the top, directed. Yet the film itself is oddly hollow. www.theparallaxreview.com

www.Dahl.com www.Dahl.com www.Dahl.com From the end of February of 1988 (apparently I did a lot of recording in 88 since that's when half of my tapes seem to be from!) Steve and Garry talk about Hawaiian radio and their upcoming trip, then they talk to Chet Chit Chat (Bruce Wolf) on the phone from the 88 Olympics in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This audio starts with a Nutrisystem Diet commercial featuring Steve and 'Eddie' (Kevin Matthews). More classic Steve Dahl from the height of the AM 1000 Loop. www.Dahl.com www.Dahl.com 1/4 - Steve & Garry talk old prank calls, advice columns, and take phone calls - 1988 Steve always managed to find weird old records from discount bins and record stores (when there was still such a thing) and this particular record was a prank call record from the 50's that Steve remembered. A couple of dedicated listeners tracked it down and brought it to the station for S&G to play on the air. The record was called "Phone Calls From Flender" (I think) and it came out sometime in the late 50's/early 60's, Flender being the 'mastermind' behind these calls (which mostly went nowhere.) I only have the tail end of Steve & Garry listening to the record but it was somewhat of a staple over the years (late 80's/early 90's) and afterwards the boys take listener phone calls and talk about an advice column. Classic Steve & Garry comedy from the late 80's AM Loop era.

A three-time Formula One world champion, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers of all time.[2] He was killed in a crash while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix and is to date the last driver to die at the wheel of a Formula One car. Senna began his motorsport career in karting, moving up to open-wheel racing in 1981 and winning the British Formula 3 championship in 1983. He made his Formula One debut with Toleman-Hart in 1984 before moving to Lotus-Renault the following year and winning six Grands Prix over the next three seasons. In 1988, he joined Frenchman Alain Prost at McLaren-Honda. Between them, they won all but one of the sixteen Grands Prix that year and Senna his first World Championship. Prost claimed the championship in 1989 and Senna his second and third championships in 1990 and 1991. In 1992, the Williams-Renault combination began to dominate Formula One. Senna nonetheless managed to finish the 1993 season as runner-up, winning five races and negotiating a move to Williams in 1994. Senna is regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula One.[3][4][5] In 2009, a poll of 217 current and former Formula One drivers conducted by the British magazine Autosport named Senna as the greatest Formula One driver.[2][6 ...
