''Maxim'' is an international men's magazine based in the United Kingdom and known for its pictorials featuring popular actresses, singers, and female models, sometimes pictured scantily dressed but not fully nude.

In the United States, ''Maxim'' is an industry leader, reporting a circulation of 2.5 million readers which they claim is enough to outsell leading competitors ''GQ'', ''Esquire'', and ''Details'' combined. The magazine is now using the brand name to market a myriad of other magazines and projects.

Expansion of the ''Maxim'' brand

Due to its success in its primary markets, ''Maxim'' has expanded into many other countries, including Argentina, Canada , India, Indonesia, Israel, Belgium, Romania, the Czech Republic, France (marketed under "Maximal"), Germany, Bulgaria, Brazil, Chile, Greece, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Russia (where it stands now as the most popular men's magazine), Serbia, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Thailand and Ukraine (in Portugal ended in May 2011). A wireless version of the magazine was launched in 2005 across cellular carriers in twenty European and Asian countries.

In 1999, MaximOnline.com was created. It contains content not included in the print version and focuses on the same general topics, along with exclusive sections such as the "Girls of ''Maxim''" galleries and the "Joke of the Day". "Maxim Video" contains video clips of interviews, music videos, photo shoots, and original content. The success of this website inspired Dennis Digital to create sites for its sister publications, such as ''Blender''.

In January 2002, ''Dennis Publishing'' established an online and retail video division, Dennis Media Group. In 2005, this division was disbanded and restructured to focus on creating video and multimedia content for the editorial branch of Dennis Digital.

On February 5, 2005, Maxim Radio, featuring male-oriented talk programming, debuted on Sirius Satellite Radio. Following the Sirius-XM merger in late 2008, the Maxim brand was dropped, and the channel is now known as Sirius XM Stars Too.

On June 5, 2006, the magazine announced plans to build a casino on the Las Vegas Strip north of Circus Circus, but the casino plan failed after local condominium owners complained that the proposed casino would ruin their view. The land was sold to MGM Mirage.

On June 15, 2007, private equity firm Quadrangle Group, along with long-time media executive Kent Brownridge, announced the acquisition of the parent company of ''Maxim'', ''Blender'', ''Stuff'' and MaximOnline.com. As of April 23, 2009 Dennis Publishing has announced that it will no longer continue producing a print edition of ''Maxim'' in the UK, though the website for the UK version will remain.

''Maxim'' in the United States is now published by Alpha Media Group.

In July 2009, ''Maxim'' partnered up with the UFC for the first-ever ''Maxim'' UFC Octagon Girl Search at the UFC Fan Expo. There were 40 girls participating in the contest, and the winner was Natasha Wicks.

Quadrangle Group gave up on its investment in Alpha Media Group in August 2009, making Cerberus Capital Management the majority partner.

High profile events and controversies

''Maxim'' has been criticized for encouraging excessive alcohol consumption and sexual objectification of women. In 2004, ''Maxim'' was protested by the gender issues department of Thunder Bay, Ontario's Lakehead University during an on-campus "''Maxim'' Coors Light Girl Search". In 2002, the popular German football club FC St. Pauli removed ''Maxim'' magazine advertisements from the team's stadium in response to fan protests over the depictions of women in the ads.

In June 2007, Israeli diplomat David Saranga invited ''Maxim'' to the country. In what came to be known as "beers and babes", the magazine did photo shoots of near-naked Israeli women who serve in the army. The campaign drew an angry reaction from lawmaker Colette Avital, a former diplomat who served as Israel's consul-general in New York City in the 1990s. Prof. John H. Brown of Georgetown University described the spread as the first event in a new branch of public diplomacy.

In February 2008, ''Maxim'' was criticized by the rock band The Black Crowes for a review of their upcoming CD, ''Warpaint'', with the band claiming that the magazine reviewed the album without hearing it. According to Black Crowes manager Pete Angelus, the magazine stated in an email that "Of course, we always prefer to hearing music, but sometimes there are big albums that we don’t want to ignore that aren’t available to hear, which is what happened with the Crowes. It’s either an educated guess preview or no coverage at all, so in this case we chose the former." The magazine's editorial director James Kaminsky later apologized, stating "It is ''Maxim'''s editorial policy to assign star ratings only to those albums that have been heard in their entirety. Unfortunately, that policy was not followed in the March 2008 issue of our magazine and we apologize to our readers." Facing more criticism over rating albums without listening to them, ''Maxim'' magazine maintains it was previewing CDs in its March 2008 issue, not reviewing them, and the mistake was to include star ratings.

Lauren Katherine Conrad (born February 1, 1986) is an American television personality, celebutante, fashion designer, and author. She came to prominence with her starring roles on the MTV reality series ''Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County'' and its spin-off series, ''The Hills'', which at one point followed her personal and professional life as she pursued a career in the fashion industry.

Conrad has written three books in her ''L.A. Candy'' trilogy with a spin-off trilogy in the works, and has two fashion lines; LC by Lauren Conrad and Paper Crown. She, her hairstylist, and her makeup artist run a beauty website, The Beauty Department.

Early life

Conrad was born in Laguna Beach, California to parents Jim and Kathy. She is the oldest of three children. Her younger siblings are Breanna and Brandon. In 2004, Conrad appeared on ''MTV Cribs'', giving a tour of her Laguna Beach home.

Career

2004–2009: ''Laguna Beach'' and ''The Hills''

During Conrad's senior year of high school, she appeared in the MTV reality series ''Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County'' in which she agreed to have her life taped. Upon graduation in 2004, she attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for one semester along with her friend, Heidi Montag. During the second season of ''Laguna Beach'', she returned home and began taking classes at a local community college before subsequently transferring to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. thumb|125px|left|Conrad at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. After the success of ''Laguna Beach'', MTV developed ''The Hills'', a spin-off series. The series originally documented the personal and professional lives of Lauren and her friends (Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, and Whitney Port) while living in Los Angeles, California. The first season premiered on MTV on May 31, 2006. At the time, Conrad was an intern at ''Teen Vogue'' while living with then-housemate Heidi Montag.

The series was later renewed for a second season, which was filmed from late summer 2006 through February 2007 and premiered on January 15, 2007. During that time, Conrad and Montag's friendship deteriorated, as Heidi was increasingly spending her time with her new boyfriend, Spencer Pratt. By February 2007, Audrina Patridge became Conrad's roommate after Montag moved into a separate apartment with Pratt. Filming for the third season of ''The Hills'' began in mid-summer 2007 and lasted through March 2008. The premiere episode of season 3 aired on August 13, 2007. During that time, Conrad was able to revive her position at ''Teen Vogue'' and was offered a trip to Paris alongside Whitney Port. By March 2008, Port had already left ''Teen Vogue'' for fashion PR firm People's Revolution, and after asking Conrad to assist at an event, Kelly Cutrone invited her to work for her company.

Filming for the fourth season of ''The Hills'' began in mid-summer 2008 and lasted through November 2008. The premiere episode of Season 4 aired on August 18, 2008. Filming for Season 5 began in January 2009, and the premiere episode aired April 6, 2009. Conrad confirmed that the fifth season would be her last. She made her final appearance in the series on May 31, 2009. The program continued without her, with former ''Laguna Beach'' castmate Kristin Cavallari being hired as Conrad's replacement. In March 2010, it was announced that the sixth season of ''The Hills'' would be the last. There was much speculation that Conrad would make a guest appearance for the series finale. The series ended on July 13, 2010, after airing six seasons and 102 episodes. She did not appear in the finale, but later said that she filmed an alternate ending of the series with Brody Jenner.

2007–2009: Fashion and retail endeavors

Conrad landed an internship at ''Teen Vogue'' while filming season one of ''The Hills''. Conrad and her reality show appearances have been credited with improving sales of ''Teen Vogue''. It was reported in March 2007 that since the second season of ''The Hills'' began airing in mid-January, newsstand sales for the magazine increased by double digits over 2006 sales. According to Lisa Love, the West Coast editor of ''Vogue'' who evaluated Conrad for the internship position, Conrad had to interview successfully in order to get the job, "regardless of what the cameras wanted". In January 2007, Conrad was named the first official spokesperson of "mark.", a line created by Avon and marketed toward young women. She was featured in the brand’s magalog and in the "mark." online community. Conrad was replaced by Ashley Greene in June 2010.

In 2007, Conrad appeared as a satirical version of herself in the comedy ''Epic Movie''. In 2008, Conrad made a cameo appearance in an episode of ''Greek''. In May 2009, Conrad appeared as a cartoon and ironic version of herself in an episode of ''Family Guy''. Conrad had previously done voice work for the show in the episode Prick Up Your Ears in a spoof of ''Laguna Beach''. Conrad's first fashion line, The Lauren Conrad Collection, debuted at the Mercedes-Benz LA Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in March 2008. In March 2009, Conrad announced that she would be taking a break from the fashion line. As a result, 2009's spring and summer lines were canceled. She earns an estimated $1.5 million annually for her television appearances, fashion line, and product endorsements. In fall 2009, Conrad launched LC by Lauren Conrad in Kohl's stores nationwide. Conrad appeared as a guest judge during Cycle 13 of ''America's Next Top Model''. In August 2009, Conrad appeared on an episode of the tenth anniversary edition of ''Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'', playing for her charity: m.powerment by mark. She was asked one question for $50,000 and answered correctly after using her "Ask the Audience" lifeline. In 2010, she guest starred on ''Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List''.

2009–present: Books and current endeavors

Conrad released her first novel, ''L.A. Candy'', on June 16, 2009. Inspired by her personal life, the book focuses on a young woman who moves to Los Angeles and becomes the star of a reality show. It was a ''New York Times'' bestseller. The second novel, ''Sweet Little Lies'', was released on February 16, 2010. The final novel, ''Sugar and Spice'', was released on October 5, 2010, along with another book, ''Style'', which is about her experiences in and her knowledge of the fashion industry as well as being a style guide. In 2011, Conrad made another three-book deal with publisher HarperCollins. The books, titled ''The Fame Game'', will be a spin-off series of the ''L.A. Candy'' trilogy and will follow character Madison Parker.

Conrad launched a production company, Blue Eyed Productions, in early 2009. It has purchased the rights to turn ''L.A. Candy'' into a movie, in which Conrad would serve as an executive producer. The movie would be based on all three books.

On September 24, 2010, Conrad announced during an ''On Air with Ryan Seacrest'' interview that she would star in an upcoming MTV reality series. The show would focus on her fashion career rather than focusing on her personal life, which she says "will be something very different" from ''The Hills''. The series began filming in mid-October 2010.

However, after MTV had viewed the pilot, the network decided to not pick up the series. MTV's head of programming, David Janollari, said, "She did do a pilot. There were talks about whether we could somehow manage to put together a special based on that footage but that's also a big question mark based on her interest in that and the finances. We decided not to go ahead with the show," later adding, "We love her! We would love her on our network! It was a great attempt but it just didn't feel like a perfect fit for us now." Conrad released a statement of her own, reading, "We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life. We agreed going into the project that this show would be an aspirational one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn't feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it."

Conrad is working on launching a new fashion line, Paper Crown, and is scheduled to be in stores by fall 2011. The line is her third collection after The Lauren Conrad Collection and LC by Lauren Conrad. Her now defunct reality show would have focused on the creation and launch of the line.

In April 2011, Conrad, along with her hairstylist Kristin Ess and her makeup artist Amy Nadine, launched a beauty website called The Beauty Department. The site offers beauty advice and tips as well as how-tos and tutorials.

Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente Scherzinger (born Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente; June 29, 1978) is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, record producer, model and actress. Scherzinger is well known as the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls. Previously, Scherzinger was a backing vocalist for the late-1990s rock group Days of the New and was a part of reality TV girl group Eden's Crush. After the disbandment of the group, she joined the Pussycat Dolls and became the group's lead vocalist during their transition into a career in music.

With the Pussycat Dolls, she released two albums ''PCD'' and ''Doll Domination'' and embarked on several concert tours. After leaving the group in December 2010, Scherzinger began a solo career with the release of her debut studio album ''Killer Love''. The album's second single, "Don't Hold Your Breath" peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart, marking her first number one hit as a solo artist. Scherzinger became the winner of the tenth season of ''Dancing with the Stars'' in early 2010. She was a judge on the first season of the US version of ''The X Factor'', which premiered in September 2011.

Early life

Nicole Scherzinger was born Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente in Honolulu, Hawaii, into a staunchly Roman Catholic family. Her father, Alfonso Valiente, is Filipino of Ilocano descent, and her mother, Rosemary, is a mix of Hawaiian and Russian descent, as Nicole's grandmother was Russian while her grandfather is Hawaiian. Her mother was eighteen at the time of Scherzinger's birth and lived in an inner city neighborhood. Scherzinger's parents separated when she was still a baby. When she was six years old, her maternal family moved to Louisville, Kentucky, with her sister, Keala, and her German American stepfather, Gary Scherzinger. She took her stepfather's surname after he adopted her.

She first attended Bowen Elementary, and later attended Meyzeek Middle School as an adolescent. Scherzinger states that, growing up, her family did not have a lot of money, and she thanks her mother for all the support she gave her to become what she is today. Scherzinger began performing in Louisville, attending the Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School, and performing with Actors Theatre of Louisville. As a teenager, Scherzinger was the first runner-up at the 1996 Kentucky State Fair's Coca-Cola Talent Classic contest.

Music career

2001–02: Career beginnings

In 2001 Scherzinger competed in the premiere season of The WB's television show, ''Popstars'', on which she earned a spot in the all-girl pop group Eden's Crush alongside the other four chosen members Ivette Sosa, Maile Misajon, Ana Maria Lombo and Rosanna Tavarez . Eventually, she became one of the main vocalists for the group. The group's 2001 US single, "Get Over Yourself (Goodbye)", peaked at number one in sales and hit the top ten on Billboard Hot 100. At the time Eden's Crush was touring in support of both *NSync and Jessica Simpson. Scherzinger was approached to be the fourth member of The Black Eyed Peas, but was forced to decline because she was a member of Eden's Crush and was under contract. The position was given, instead, to Fergie. Later, however, Eden's Crush' record company, London-Sire Records, folded and the group eventually disbanded. In November 2007 Scherzinger spoke of her time in Eden's Crush:

It was hell... I was in a band with five other girls and every day was torture for me. We were on TV all the time and the atmosphere was awful... Every day I was in that band I cried my eyes out. The band was meant to be fun and frivolous but the reality was that it was miserable... I was too sensitive back then, but I got toughened up. I couldn't have gone into the Dolls without my experience in Crush.

After the disbanding of Eden's Crush, Scherzinger made a few promotional solo appearances under the stage name of Nicole Kea, including covering "Breakfast in Bed" for the soundtrack to ''50 First Dates'' in 2003. Scherzinger later worked with Yoshiki of Japanese rock band X Japan on his Violet UK project. She sang the English version of "I'll Be Your Love" live with the Tokyo Symphonic Orchestra. The track also appeared on the 2003 Various Artists album ''Exposition of Global Harmony''.

2003–10: The Pussycat Dolls

In May 2003, Scherzinger joined the Pussycat Dolls burlesque troupe, who were being re-cast as recording artists. She had first seen them performing on ''The Late Show with David Letterman'' in November 2002, where Carmen Electra sang "Big Spender" from the Bob Fosse musical ''Sweet Charity''. In 2006, Scherzinger said "It caught my eye because I’d played Velma Kelly in [Fosse's] ''Chicago'' in college." In one interview she spoke of her role with the Pussycat dolls stating that it was a "challenge fronting the group" but that "every girl has something different to bring and add to the success". The success of ''PCD'' brought Scherzinger into the media spotlight and she went on to record a series of duets/guest vocals with a wide array of male vocalists. In 2005, she appeared on recordings by Shaggy, Vittorio Grigolo and Will Smith. In 2006 she sang co-lead vocals with Avant on his single "Lie About Us", and Diddy's hit "Come to Me" (which she also co-wrote). Other appearances are listed in discography. In the biography section of her official website she says that everyone recognises her from the Pussycat Dolls's debut single "Dont Cha" which although amazing does not fulfill her musical desires. When asked what she intended to achieve with her solo career she commented "Some people only have their glasses half full, but there was never a limit to mine." The purpose of the album was to appeal to younger audiences, show them "the heart of Nicole" and show that she is "not always strong and fearless".

Doubt was cast over the future of the album when the Pussycat Dolls released their second album ''Doll Domination'' which featured some of the songs which had initially been recorded for Scherzinger's own album. "Happily Never After" and "Who's Gonna Love You" were placed on the album with no changes whilst additional backing vocals were added to "When I Grow Up" before it was released as the album's lead single. In 2010 during an interview with ''X'' magazine she also revealed that "I Hate This Part", a song which became a top-ten hit in Europe for the Pussycat Dolls, was also intended for her own solo album. Christopher "Tricky Stewart" and The-Dream were also working with Scherzinger and produced, wrote and recorded at least two songs for the album. Both of the known recordings, "Punch You In Your Sleep" and "I'm a Cheat" were re-allocated to The-Dream's ex-wife Christina Milian who has recorded them for her fourth studio album ''Elope'' due in 2010.

Furthermore it was revealed that Keri Hilson (a writer who has been heavily involved in writing for the Pussycat Dolls) had written a song called "Alienated" for Scherzinger, however when the album was delayed and shelved Hilson reclaimed the song and instead recorded the song with producer Cory Bold for her own debut studio album ''In a Perfect World...'' Reviews later went on to give the song critical acclaim for its "electro-blips and whispery raps that are alluring." In September 2009 it was confirmed that the teary ballad, "Just Say Yes" was reclaimed by Gary Lightbody who has since re-tooled and reworked the song. It was released as the lead single from his band, Snow Patrol's compilation album ''Up to Now'', on November 2, 2009. Addressing the delayed release of her solo album, in September 2008 Scherzinger said, "Despite what other people might write, it was my decision, ultimately. I actually put some of my solo songs on the Pussycat Dolls' new album ''Doll Domination''. Everything is all about timing. I believe it will come out next year, and it will be able to coexist wonderfully with the Dolls' album. It's completely separate from what you've heard with "Baby Love" and "Whatever U Like," and I'm still working on it — that's what happens when you're a perfectionist." She was interviewed by ''Billboard'' magazine in April 2009 regarding her own career plans as well as what The Dolls were up to. She said "the current incarnation of the album is just in talks and in the writing process. I haven't started recording yet." She plans to enter the studio again after the Pussycat Dolls have finished their World Domination Tour. Speaking about the project Scherzinger said she will be working again with Will.i.am, Timbaland as well as with new associates Lady Gaga and A.R. Rahman. In April 2008, Scherzinger recorded a cover version of "Rio" by Duran Duran for an advertising campaign for Unilever's Caress brand of body wash. A commercial video was released, and the single was released via download only, after May 2008. In 2008, in support of Barack Obama, she was one of many musicians to contribute to a track by will.i.am called "Yes We Can". Also on September 5, 2008, Scherzinger joined an all-star cast to perform the charity song "Just Stand Up" on live TV. The Pussycat Dolls returned to the Music scene on May 27, 2008 with the new single "When I Grow Up" which reached number nine on the U.S. Hot 100 and number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play. The song topped several European charts and became a worldwide top ten hit. The follow-up single "Whatcha Think About That" with Missy Elliott failed to enter the U.S. charts but managed to reach top 20 in several other countries including the UK with a limited release.

After a slight delay and with two singles released the album, ''Doll Domination'' was finally released as a standard and deluxe edition. The latter featured a disc with a solo song by each of the girls. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, with 79,000 copies sold in its first week beating their debut album by one chart position but selling 20,000 less copies. It only spent seven weeks in the top 100, compared with their debut album which sat in the top 100 for nearly one year. In January 2009 it re-entered the top 100 following several more successful singles. The album in original form spawned two other singles, worldwide top 20 hit "I Hate This Part" and the number-one club song "Bottle Pop" which only received a limited release in the US and Oceania. On January 2009 they embarked their second world tour called ''Doll Domination Tour'' to support ''Doll Domination''. Lady Gaga opened for them in Europe and Australia, while Ne-Yo supported the Pussycat Dolls in the UK leg. In mid-2009 they opened for Britney Spears' tour The Circus Starring Britney Spears on the first leg in North America. In April 2009 Scherzinger confirmed to ''Billboard'' that the album would be re-released to give more people a chance to get their music. In Europe the album was re-released with three or four new songs. In Australia a compilation called ''Doll Domination 2.0'' was released with six songs from the original version plus four new songs whereas the UK received a six-song EP called ''Doll Domination: The Mini Collection'' released on April 27, 2009 featuring four of the original songs plus a remix and a new song. In August 2009 the album was repackaged once more, this time as ''Doll Domination 3.0'' to include all of the previously released bonus songs on one CD with the original album. Its release was limited to Europe and the UK where the group's singles had all reached top 20. The repackaged versions spawned two more singles: the worldwide number one "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" (featured on the soundtrack for ''Slumdog Millionaire'') and euro-pop remix of "Hush Hush" (retitled "Hush Hush; Hush Hush") which reached top 20 internationally. Following Scherzinger's over-emphasis in the release of these two singles there were several emotional outbursts to the media including one by Thornton during one of the group's appearances on tour. Scherzinger performed "America the Beautiful" at WWE's WrestleMania XXV in Houston, Texas at the Reliant Stadium on April 5, 2009. Scherzinger performed with guitarist Slash on October 2 in Las Vegas.

2006-2008: Solo project

From 2006 until late 2008 Scherzinger had been working on her debut album which was titled ''Her Name Is Nicole''. She recorded/wrote about 75–100 songs for the album which was supposed to be released in 2007 before being pushed to October 16, 2008 and later into 2009 before being shelved. She told MTV "I've always said that in the Pussycat Dolls, I kind of feel like Superwoman. But that's just one of my alter egos. I've got the vulnerable, lovesick side of me amongst others which all appear on my record." thumb|upright|Scherzinger in 2007 The album saw Scherzinger work with a wide roster of producers and song writers some of whom had worked with Scherzinger for albums with the Pussycat Dolls. Sean Garrett and Polow da Don worked on "Whatever U Like" (featuring T.I.) which was released as the album's lead single on July 24, 2007 but deemed unsuccessful reaching just 57 in Canada. "Baby Love" was the second single released on September 10, 2007. Although well received and compared to the Pussycat Dolls' song "Stickwitu" the track did not chart well in the United States. Internationally the single fared well reaching Top 15 in most countries including the UK, and mainland Europe. It was remixed to be included on ''Doll Domination'' as a bonus track. The third single "Supervillain" was described as having a "danceable jam with a catchy chorus" and featured a reggae–dancehall interlude. Written by Rock City and produced by Mad Scientist it was only released to US iTunes in November 2007. The song's synthy melodies and disco-motown feel with Scherzinger's 5-octave range were not enough to chart in the US. Fourth single "Puakenikeni" (a type of flower in Hawaii) also released to iTunes in November was produced by Akon to as a tribute to Scherzinger's heritage but failed to chart. Other songs included the critically acclaimed "Just Say Yes", written by Gary Lightbody (of Snow Patrol) which was a soft and slow song with its pulsing, electronic beat. She told MTV of her excitement to record the song previously rejected by Gwen Stefani. "I'm such a huge fan of Snow Patrol's music, I felt like I was supposed to make it my own. "It's a very honest and truthful song." Ne-Yo gave Scherzinger two songs, "Happily Never After" a slow ballad of which Scherzinger said she felt it "important for young girls to have an empowering message that they deserve better". Interestingly the song was originally written for Britney Spears to record for her album ''Blackout'' in 2007. The other song has a tear jerking ballad called "Save Me from Myself" for which Scherzinger helped Ne-Yo in developing the hook before recording the song. When commenting on another song "March" Scherzinger said she wanted a powerful record. "It's about never giving up on your dreams and it’s about what I went through to get where I am today." Timbaland produced and featured on the song "Physical" on which his trademark vocals can be heard over the upbeat melody and thumping baseline. Part of the song was used in the film ''Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer'' (which she made a short cameo in). The album sessions also produced a number of other songs including "When Your Falling" (also co-written by Akon) "Power's Out" a riveting duet with English singer Sting (featured in Revlon adverts with Jessica Alba) and "I M.I.S.S You" written by Pharrell Williams and produced by The Neptunes.

2010–present: ''Killer Love''

Scherzinger confirmed that she has done one song with Slash for his solo album ''Slash'' released in April 2010. On February 1, 2010 along with other artists Scherzinger had re-recorded "We Are the World", a charity single for the victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. The song debuted during NBC's coverage of the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics. It was released as a single on iTunes on February 12, 2010 accompanied by the music video.

Then in August 2010 Swedish-Moroccan electropop producer RedOne was interviewed by the BBC. In the interview he revealed he had been working on Scherzinger's album. "I just finished her album. Her last one never came out because it was collecting hamburgers, like fast food. One from McDonald's, one from Burger King, and so on. It tasted good, but it wasn't consistent. Her new record – people are really going to go crazy about it because it's the real her." Scherzinger confirmed these reports in a September 2010 interview with ''X'' magazine. In reference to ''Her Name is Nicole'' she said "It was actually my decision not to put it out, not the label's". Then she said "I've been working with RedOne, which is an honour. He's an unbelievable producer and musician. He had made some amazing songs with Lady Gaga. Now, there is someone with the 'x factor'. I can't touch GaGa or RedOne in that space, but I know that we've created something unique of our own." Scherzinger's new single, "Poison", premiered on her official website and YouTube account on October 14, 2010. It is due for release on November 29, 2010. A picture from the video shoot was revealed by MTV, showing Scherzinger dressed provocatively. "Poison" serves as the first single from the album and peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart becoming Scherzinger's most successful single, until her #1 hit with "Don't Hold Your Breath" in Spring of 2011.

On November 18, 2010, she joined Prince on-stage during his concert in Abu Dhabi. While working with RedOne she has also recorded vocals for songs which will be included on Mohombi's debut album. Mohombi is the first signee to RedOne's record label. Scherzinger appeared at the Jingle Bell Ball at London's O2 Arena on December 4, 2010. The second single, "Don't Hold Your Breath", was released on March 13, 2011 and preceded the album, ''Killer Love'', which was released March 21, 2011. The song debuted at #1 on the UK Singles Chart. "Right There" impacted UK radio in April 2011 as the third single in the United Kingdom. For its release in the US, it was remixed to feature two new verses from American rapper 50 Cent, it serves as her first American lead single from her debut album, "Killer Love". "Right There" was released as a digital download in the US on May 17, 2011 and sent to US mainstream radio on May 24, 2011. On June 12, Sherzinger performed at Capital FM's ''Summertime Ball'' at ''Wembley Stadium'' in ''London''.

On August 16, 2011, Scherzinger released "Don't Hold Your Breath" in the United States as her second US single. The singles,"Right There (feat. 50 Cent)" & "Don't Hold Your Breath" will precede her debut album, "Killer Love" which is set to be released in the US on January 2012. Scherzinger also released a music video for "Wet", which was released as a single in the UK in August 2011. On November 14, 2011, Killer Love will be re-released in Europe. In October 2011, Scherzinger released a new song titled "Try With Me", it is the lead single from the European re-release. The music video for "Try with Me" premiered on 18 October 2011 on MSN. Scherzinger and her team, including X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman, were held at gunpoint by a local gang when they were travelling through the mountains to the Xilitla rainforest in Mexico to shoot the video. They were released without harm but shaken by the experience.

Acting

Scherzinger has made minor appearances as an actress. She appeared in the TV comedy, ''Half & Half'', ''My Wife and Kids'' and the 2003 film, ''Love Don't Cost a Thing''. She also had a role in 2001 as one of the "Pop Stars" in the episode, "Finally!", of the show ''Sabrina, the Teenage Witch'', in ''Wanda at Large'', ''Chasing Papi'', ''Be Cool'' and ''Cane''. Scherzinger was intended to be cast in one of the lead roles in the upcoming movie with the Filipino Boxing Champion, Manny Pacquiao, together with professional wrestler, Dave Batista. She was about to play the leading lady of the Filipino Champ, but her audition was cancelled and the role went to the Filipina actress, Ruffa Mae Quinto. She also made an appearance in the Nickelodeon show, ''Big Time Rush'', as herself. In 2010 Scherzinger appeared in the ''How I Met Your Mother'' episode "Glitter", as Robin Scherbatsky's former best friend, Jessica Glitter. She has also recorded a version of "GoldenEye" — the theme song of the 1995 Bond film ''GoldenEye'' — for the 2010 video game ''GoldenEye 007''. Scherzinger is currently slated to play Lilly in the upcoming film ''Men in Black 3'', to be released May 25, 2012.

Modelling

In 2006 she made a "Bench Body" brand underwear commercial in the Philippines, and in October 2008 she promoted Clear Shampoo and Conditioner. Both commercials were reportedly aired throughout Southeast Asia. She appeared in a Nike shoe commercial with basketball player LeBron James. In 2010 she made a commercial for the C&A; campaign. She appeared on the covers of numerous Cosmopolitan editions (British, Bulgarian, Croatian, Estonian, Italian, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mexican, Mongolian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish and others). Scherzinger frequently has appeared in FHM Magazine's 100 Sexiest Women poll, ranking #49 in 2006, #22 in 2007, #49 in 2008, #60 in 2009, and #73 in 2010. In 2011 she jumped 64 places to rank #9.

Musical

Scherzinger majored in acting and musical theatre at Wright State University, where she played Velma Kelly in ''Chicago'' and Julie La Verne in ''Show Boat''. She put her studies on hold in 1999 to sing backing vocals for the rock band, Days of the New.

In late 2009 it was reported that Scherzinger was working closely with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the musical ''Love Never Dies'', the sequel to ''The Phantom of the Opera''. Although she has not yet appeared in the show, her version of the title song - ''Love Never Dies'' - was played on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Monday 1 April 2011.

On June 4, 2010, it was announced that Scherzinger would take on the role of Maureen in the Hollywood Bowl production of the rock musical ''Rent'', directed by Neil Patrick Harris. She played the role from August 6–8, 2010.

On October 28, 2010, Scherzinger took part in the 35th anniversary of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

As part of the 25th Anniversary of ''The Phantom of the Opera'', Scherzinger performed the title song at The Royal Variety Performance - held in The Lowry, Manchester - on Monday 5 December 2011. She performed alongside four former Phantoms (Simon Bowman, Earl Carpenter, John Owen-Jones and Ramin Karimloo). The performance was aired on ITV1 on Wednesday 14 December 2011. Her performance received critical acclaim.

Reality television

In December 2009 Scherzinger served as a celebrity judge on NBC's reality singing competition, ''The Sing-Off'', along with singer-songwriter Ben Folds and Boyz II Men bandmember Shawn Stockman. The show was hosted by singer Nick Lachey. Scherzinger's role was to critique performances of the competitors and vote on eliminations in all but the final round, which was determined by audience vote. In the show finale, Scherzinger performed "You Don't Own Me" with competition finalists the Beelzebubs of Tufts University. She returned to her role as judge for a second season of ''The Sing-Off'' in December 2010, but did not return for a third season.

On March 1, 2010, it was announced that Scherzinger would be a celebrity contestant on ''Dancing with the Stars'' for the tenth season and would be partnered with Season 7 champion Derek Hough. On May 25, 2010 Scherzinger won ''Dancing with the Stars'' season 10.

On July 1, 2010, MTV reported the media mogul, Simon Cowell, had hired Scherzinger as a guest judge for the seventh series of the UK reality TV series ''The X Factor'' after regular judge, Dannii Minogue, went on maternity leave. According to ''The Daily Mail'', she was one of several celebrities being considered for a role on the U.S. version of ''The X Factor'', and so the role on the UK version served as an important screen test and opportunity to impress the producers. Following praise from the show's producers, Scherzinger was asked to return as a guest judge after it was discovered that Cole had contracted malaria and was unable to film the 'bootcamp' stages of the competition. Fellow judge and permanent panel member Louis Walsh praised Scherzinger, saying "My favourite though was Nicole who I had never met before. This girl has the X Factor in every way. She just got it, was incredibly impressive and ticked every box." The host of the show, Dermot O'Leary, also praised Scherzinger, saying she was his favourite guest judge. "She was brilliant, tailor-made for it and hilarious too. We were all stunned by her beauty." Scherzinger left her mark on the competition after she persuaded producers to change the ages of the judging categories. An ''X Factor'' spokesman told the media that "At Nicole's suggestion, and agreed by Simon and Louis, the boys' and girls' category age limit has been increased to 28. The judges believe this will strengthen the competition and talent." Additionally, it was reported that Scherzinger would be asked to help Cowell or Walsh during the "judges' houses" stages of the competition where each judge is given a category of acts to mentor and then, with the help of other celebrities and musicians, they choose three acts to take through the live finals. However, this proved to be wrong as Walsh chose Sharon Osbourne and Cowell chose Sinitta.

On May 5, 2011, Scherzinger was announced as one of two co-hosts of the first season of Cowell's U.S. version of ''The X Factor'' alongside Steve Jones. On June 6, a Fox press release announced Scherzinger would replace Cheryl Cole, whose contract had been terminated. As a result, Scherzinger joined the judging panel alongside Cowell, Paula Abdul, and L.A. Reid, leaving Jones to host ''The X Factor'' by himself. The show premiered on Fox on September 21, 2011. Scherzinger mentored the Over 30s category throughout season one where her most successful act was Josh Krajick who came second overall in the competition. During the Judges' Houses stage of the competition, Scherzinger was aided by friend and fellow artist Enrique Iglesias to help decide which of her acts should go through to the Live Shows stage. Her Judges' Houses location was in Malibu, California.

On January 30, 2012 it was confirmed that Scherzinger would not return to ''The X Factor'' along with host Steve Jones and fellow judge Paula Abdul due to Cowell and FOX deciding not to renew their contracts.

Personal life

Scherzinger considers herself to be a devout Roman Catholic. After a three-year relationship and engagement to 311 singer, Nick Hexum, as well as a brief relationship with reality TV star, Talan Torriero, Scherzinger began dating 2008 Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton in 2008. She had met Hamilton at the European Music Awards in Munich in November 2007. They went public at the Monaco Grand Prix six months later. The couple split in January 2010 when they had been together for 20 months. However, in July 2011 Scherzinger’s father, Alfonso Valiente, confirmed the couple were engaged. On October 21, 2011 it was reported that the couple had split again. Scherzinger and Hamilton continued seeing each other, confirmed their reunion on December 2, 2011. The couple blamed their hectic lifestyles for the on-off relationship.

Over the past five years, Scherzinger has been ranked in ''Maxim'''s Hot 100 at 22 and 21 in 2006 and 2007 respectively. In 2008 she ranked at number 19 along with the Pussycat Dolls. In 2009 she ranked at number 49 and in 2010 at number 24.

Jennifer Love Hewitt (born February 21, 1979) is an American actress, producer, television director and former singer-songwriter. Hewitt began her acting career as a child by appearing in television commercials and the Disney Channel series ''Kids Incorporated''. She rose to fame in teenage popular culture in her roles in the Fox series ''Party of Five'' as Sarah Reeves Merrin, and films ''I Know What You Did Last Summer'' and its sequel as Julie James.

She starred on the hit CBS television program ''Ghost Whisperer'' as Melinda Gordon, for which she won a Saturn Award in 2007 and 2008 for Best Actress on Television. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her television movie ''The Client List''. Hewitt has served as a producer on some of her film and television projects. As a singer, Hewitt's most successful single on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the 1999 release "How Do I Deal", which peaked at No. 59. She has contributed music to the promotion or soundtracks of acting projects. Early life

Hewitt was born in Waco, Texas, and is the daughter of Patricia Mae (née Shipp), a speech-language pathologist, and Herbert Daniel Hewitt, a medical technician. Hewitt grew up in Nolanville, Texas. Hewitt received her middle name after her mother promised her college friend (named "Love") that if she had a daughter, she would name her after her. Her older brother, Todd Hewitt, chose the name "Jennifer" as a homage to a crush he had at the time she was born. After the divorce of her parents, Hewitt and her brother were brought up by her mother.

As a young girl, Hewitt was attracted to music, which led to her first encounters with the entertainment industry. At the age of three, she sang "The Greatest Love of All" at a livestock show. Just a year after that, at a restaurant-dance hall, she entertained an audience with her version of "Help Me Make It Through the Night". By the time she was five, Hewitt already had tap dancing and ballet in her portfolio. At nine, she became a member of the Texas Show Team (which also toured in the Soviet Union). At the age of ten, at the suggestion of talent scouts and after gaining the title of "Texas Our Little Miss Talent Winner", she moved to Los Angeles with her mother to pursue a career in both acting and singing. In Los Angeles, Hewitt attended Lincoln High School where her classmates included Jonathan Neville, who became a talent scout and recommended Hewitt for her role in ''Party of Five''.

Career

Acting

After moving to Los Angeles, Hewitt appeared in more than twenty television commercials, including some for Mattel toys. Her first break came as a child actor on the Disney Channel variety show ''Kids Incorporated'' (1989–1991), where she was credited as "Love Hewitt". She later appeared in the live action video short ''Dance! Workout with Barbie'' (1992), released by Buena Vista.

She played Pierce Brosnan's daughter in a pilot for NBC called ''Running Wilde'' (1993), which featured Brosnan as a reporter for ''Auto World'' magazine whose stories cover his own wild auto adventures. However, the series was not picked up and the pilot never aired. Hewitt later had roles in several short-lived television series, such as Fox's ''Shaky Ground'' (1992–1993), ABC's ''The Byrds of Paradise'' (1994), and ''McKenna'' (1994–1995), and finally became a young star after landing the role of Sarah Reeves Merrin on the popular Fox show ''Party of Five'' (1995–1999). She assumed the role of Sarah after joining that show during its second season and continued it on the short-lived ''Party of Five'' spin-off, ''Time of Your Life'' (1999), which she also co-produced. The show was cancelled after half a season.

Hewitt's first feature film role was in the independent film ''Munchie'' (1992). A year later, she achieved her first starring film role in ''Little Miss Millions'' (1993). She appeared as a choir member in ''Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit'' (1993). Hewitt became a film star after a lead role in the horror film ''I Know What You Did Last Summer'' (1997), which enjoyed great box office success ($125,000,000 USD). Hewitt and her co-stars gained popular exposure from the film. She appeared in the sequel ''I Still Know What You Did Last Summer'' (1998), which, though not as successful as the first film, took in more money on its opening weekend. She starred in the high-school comedy ''Can't Hardly Wait'' (1998).

Hewitt starred in ''The Audrey Hepburn Story'' (2000). That same year, she was the "most popular actress on television" due to her Q-rating (a measurement of a celebrity's popularity) of 37. Noting her "Q-rating", Nokia chose her to become its spokesperson.

She starred alongside Sigourney Weaver in the romantic comedy ''Heartbreakers'' (2001). She appeared in ''The Hunchback of Notre Dame II'' (2002) as Madellaine, the main protagonist's love interest. Hewitt wrote and performed "I'm Gonna Love You" for the film; the song won "Best Original Song" at the DVD Premiere Awards. She starred alongside Jackie Chan in ''The Tuxedo'' (2002), which received negative reviews from critics but was a box office success. Hewitt appeared in ''If Only'' (2004) and co-wrote and performed "Love Will Show You Everything" and "Take My Heart Back" for the film's soundtrack. She starred in ''Garfield'' (2004), which became her highest-grossing film to date ($200,804,534 USD). She reprised her role for the sequel, ''Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties'' (2006), which, though not performing as well as its predecessor, achieved a strong box office gross.

Hewitt starred in the television series ''Ghost Whisperer'' (2005–2010), which ran on CBS for five seasons before being canceled by the network in May, 2010. She reunited with her ''I Know What You Did Last Summer'' co-star, Freddie Prinze Jr., in ''Delgo'' (2008). The film was a massive box office bomb ($694,782 USD domestically). After a two-year absence from feature films, Hewitt led the independent drama ''Café'' (2010) with her then-boyfriend Jamie Kennedy. She starred in the Lifetime film ''The Client List'' (2010), for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. The next year, Hewitt starred in the Hallmark Hall of Fame film ''The Lost Valentine'' (2011).

Hewitt will direct the film ''Wait Till Helen Comes'' (2012) based on the novel by Mary Downing Hahn. This will be Hewitt's feature film directorial debut (she previously directed three episodes of ''Ghost Whisperer''). She is also set star alongside Ivan Sergei and Joel David Moore in the independent comedy ''Jewtopia'' (2012) and will star in the television series ''The Client List'' (2012).

Music

Hewitt was one of the back-up singers in Martika's number-one single, "Toy Soldiers" (1989).

At the age of 12, Meldac funded the recording of Hewitt's first album, ''Love Songs'' (1992). The album was released exclusively in Japan, where Hewitt became a pop star. Her explanation for her success in Japan is that the Japanese "love perky music. The poppier the music, the better."

After she joined the cast of ''Party of Five'', she signed to Atlantic Records, who rushed her second album, ''Let's Go Bang'' (1995), out in October. The album and its three singles failed to chart. Juggling her music career with her acting career, she recorded and released her follow-up album, ''Jennifer Love Hewitt'' (1996). The album, along with its four singles, failed to chart and Atlantic dropped Hewitt, who did not return to the music scene for three years.

She recorded the single "How Do I Deal" (1999) for the ''I Still Know What You Did Last Summer'' soundtrack. The song became Hewitt's first charting single, climbing to No. 59 on the Hot 100 and No. 36 on the Top 40 Mainstream. It reached No. 8 in Australia. Hewitt also recorded a cover of the Gloria Gaynor song "I Will Survive", which features briefly in the film.

She appeared in the LFO video for "Girl on TV" (1999), a song which was written for her by a member of the band. She also appeared in the music video for the Enrique Iglesias song, "Hero" (2001), as the singer's love interest.

In 2002, Hewitt signed to Jive Records and recorded her fourth album with singer, songwriter and producer Meredith Brooks. The first single, "BareNaked" (2002), became her biggest radio hit to date when it peaked at No. 24 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, No. 31 on the Adult Top 40 and No. 25 on the Top 40 Mainstream. It climbed to No. 6 in Australia, remaining there for two weeks, and reached No. 33 in the Netherlands. The song later featured in two episodes of ''Ghost Whisperer'': "The Vanishing" (Season 1, episode 20) and "The Collector" (Season 2, episode 20). The moderate success of the single propelled the album to peak at No. 37 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and No. 31 in Australia. However, it only remained on the chart for three weeks. The second single, "Can I Go Now" (2003), failed to chart in the US, while managing to peak at No. 8 in the Netherlands and No. 12 in Australia.

Since 2004, Hewitt has remained inactive from the music industry, but the compilation album ''Cool with You: The Platinum Collection'' (2006) was released in Asia. Another compilation, ''Hey Everybody'' (2007), was released in Brazil. In 2009, reports surfaced that Hewitt was planning on making a country album and was in the process of writing material for it. Jamie Kennedy, Hewitt's boyfriend at the time, said: "I really want to make her a new demo for her music, because I think she should do singing again. She's so good." However, nothing has of yet come of the reports and Hewitt has remained absent from the music scene.

Writing

In November 2009, Hewitt made a foray into comic books. Veteran writer Scott Lobdell scripted the 5-issue anthology, ''Jennifer Love Hewitt's Music Box'' (2009–2010), based on Hewitt's ideas. The series has been published by IDW Publishing, and has been compiled in a trade paperback.

Hewitt wrote a book entitled ''The Day I Shot Cupid'' (2010), in which she speaks of her experiences with love and dating. During a January 2010 interview on ''Lopez Tonight'', Hewitt said that there was a chapter in the book about "vajazzling" her "vajayjay" (decorating her vulva with Swarovski crystals). Hewitt was attributed with popularizing the trend. The book became a New York Times Bestseller the week of its release. She announced via her Twitter page that she is currently penning a follow-up.

Relationships

Hewitt has dated many high-profile celebrities such as Carson Daly, John Mayer and Jamie Kennedy.

Hewitt began a relationship with Scottish actor Ross McCall, whom she met when he made an appearance on ''Ghost Whisperer'' in late 2005. After two years of dating, they became engaged in late 2007, while vacationing in Hawaii. Paparazzi photographs taken of Hewitt in a bikini at that time led to harsh criticism of her body by bloggers. Hewitt responded: "I've sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women's bodies are constantly scrutinized....What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles." Several celebrities supported her views. During her engagement, Hewitt reportedly said: "I’m getting ready to turn 30 and get married and all those things. This year was my year to try to glow from within and feel better." ''People'' magazine reported that Hewitt called off their engagement in late 2008.

Stalking

In 2002, conspiracy theorist and former social worker Diana Napolis was arrested for stalking and uttering death threats against Hewitt and Steven Spielberg after "verbally confronting" the actress at the 2002 Grammy Awards, and the subsequent day attempting to pose as one of Hewitt's friends to enter the premiere of ''The Tuxedo''. Napolis admitted to becoming involved in a shoving match with Hewitt's mother while confronting the actress. Napolis accused Hewitt, along with director Spielberg, of controlling her thoughts through "cybertronic" technology and being part of a Satanic conspiracy against her. Napolis was charged with six felonies related to the incidents. After a year of involuntary commitment, Napolis pleaded guilty and was released on bail with a condition that she was barred from contact with both Spielberg and Hewitt.

Leven Alice Rambin (born May 17, 1990) is an American actress. She is best known for playing look-a-like half-sisters Lily Montgomery and Ava Benton on ''All My Children'' (2004–2008) and her recurring roles in; ''Grey's Anatomy'', ''Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'', ''One Tree Hill'' and ''CSI: Miami''.

Biography

Rambin was born in Houston, Texas. Her father Joseph Howard Rambin III is co-founder of Moody-Rambin, the largest locally owned commercial real estate firm in Houston. Her mother is the former Karen Stacy Guthrie. Her brother, Joseph Rambin, is currently enrolled at The University of Alabama. Her older half-sister is Mary Rambin, blogger of "More Than Mary" and designer of the Moe handbag line, currently residing in Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of J. Howard Rambin, Jr, former CEO and president of Texaco oil company.

She began performing in school plays. She studied at the Houston School of Film and Theatre and at St. Francis Episcopal Day School where she starred in her first school play before relocating to Connecticut and later New York when she got cast on ''All My Children'' (her first professional acting role). While acting, she has also pursued her high school diploma through the Texas Tech University Independent School District.

Career

Rambin joined the cast of ABC's ''All My Children'' in February 2004, playing the role of Lily Montgomery, the autistic daughter of Jackson Montgomery (Walt Willey).

On March 30, 2007, Rambin began juggling dual roles on ''All My Children'' playing the autistic Lily Montgomery, as well as her street-smart but lovable older half sister, Ava Benton. She later appeared on an episode of ''Law & Order: SVU''. On February 28, 2008, Leven appeared on NBC's new series ''Lipstick Jungle''. Leven will appear in film for the first time in Killer Film's independent picture, ''Gigantic''. The film stars and is produced by Paul Dano. Leven filmed a pilot presentation for the CW titled "Austin Golden Hour", directed by Sanford Bookstaver in April 2008.

Leven Rambin was the only actress from ''All My Children'' to be nominated for the 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. She was nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her roles of Lily Montgomery and Ava Benton.

In September 2008, Rambin joined the cast of ''Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'' as a series regular, playing the character Riley Dawson, a school friend and love interest of John Connor. Rambin left the show after filming her last episode ''Ourselves Alone''.

She has been signed to Wilhelmina Models.

In 2009 Rambin landed a recurring role as Sloan Riley, the 18-year old-daughter of Dr. Mark Sloan on ''Grey's Anatomy''.

Rambin will temporarily return to ''All My Children'' as Lily Montgomery on January 5, 2010 for the show's 40th Anniversary.

In March 2010, Leven was cast as the daughter of Virginia Madsen and David James Elliott on the ABC series, "Scoundrels"

Rambin posed as Elizabeth Wakefield & Jessica Wakefield for the new version of Francine Pascal's popular book series Sweet Valley High.

In January 2011, Rambin appeared on the Disney Channel show, "Wizards of Waverly Place" in the recurring role of "Rosie." In February 2011, she was cast in the recurring role of "Chloe Hall" on the long-running CW series, ''One Tree Hill''. She will first appear in the role on the 16th episode of the 8th season. In February 2011, Leven was cast as Molly Sloan on the CBS crime drama ''CSI: Miami'' where she potentially has a recurring role as a trace evidence technician who has been transferred in from Tampa. She first appears in season 9 episode 14 where she quickly makes a solid first impression on CSI Ryan Wolfe.

In April 2011, it was announced that Lionsgate and director Gary Ross cast Rambin in her first major studio film in the role of the antagonist Glimmer in the film adaptation of the popular book ''The Hunger Games'' by Suzanne Collins. In the film, she plays a nemesis of Katniss Everdeen, played by Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence.

She will return to ''AMC'' as both Lily and Ava in August 2011 before the ABC television broadcast goes off air in September.

Personal life

Rambin got engaged to Producer Geoffrey James Clark in 2009 in the Bahamas.
