''Elle'' is a worldwide magazine of French origin that focuses on women's fashion, beauty, health, and entertainment. ''Elle'' is also the world's largest fashion magazine. It was founded by Pierre Lazareff and his wife Hélène Gordon in 1945. The title, in French, means "she". Robbie Myers is the editor in chief.

History

''Elle'' was founded in France in 1945. In the 1960s it was considered to "not so much reflect fashion as decree it", with 800,000 loyal readers and a then famous slogan : "Si elle lit elle lit Elle (If she reads, she reads Elle)". In 1981, Daniel Filipacchi and Jean-Luc Lagardère purchased Hachette magazines, which included the then-struggling ''Elle''. ''Elle'' was then launched in the U.S. (News Corporation owned a stake in the US edition until 1988), followed by 25 foreign editions.

It is now the world’s largest fashion magazine, with 42 international editions in over 60 countries. Technologically speaking, the ''Elle'' brand is a global network encompassing over 20 websites. Subscriptions account for 73 percent of readers. With the remaining 27 percent purchasing single issues, ''Elle'' is the only fashion magazine to have increased its newsstand sales in the past five years, most notably with an 18 percent increase in the first half of 2006. There are 27 ''Elle'' websites globally, which collectively attract over 1 million visitors and 26 million page views per month ''Elle'' reaches over 4.8 million readers. The vast majority (82 percent) of ''Elle'''s audience are women between the ages of 18 and 49. ''Elle'' readers have a median age of 34.7 years. Forty percent of readers are single, and the median household income is $69,973. Ashley Michele Greene (born February 21, 1987) is an American actress and model, best known for playing Alice Cullen in the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's ''Twilight'' novels.

Personal life

Greene was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and is the daughter of Michele (née Tatum), who works in insurance, and Joe Greene, a U.S. Marine who now owns his own concrete business. She grew up in Middleburg and Jacksonville, and went to University Christian School before transferring to Wolfson High School when she was in tenth grade. She moved to Los Angeles, California, at the age of 17 to pursue an acting career. Greene has an older brother named Joe, who still resides in Jacksonville with their parents.

Greene is good friends with her ''Twilight'' co-stars, particularly Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone whom she knew before filming of the series began. She dated singer Joe Jonas. The two broke up in March 2011. Greene has stated the she grew up watching football and is a Florida Gators fan. She was also seen attending a Green Bay Packers game against the New York Giants with Jonas and Jessica Szohr at Lambeau Field in 2010.

Career

She initially planned to become a model, but was told that she was not tall enough at 5'5" to be a runway model and should instead focus on commercials. After taking commercial and acting classes, she fell in love with acting and realized that she preferred it over modeling. Greene graduated from high school early and moved to L.A. to pursue an acting career. Since then, she has appeared as a guest on many popular television programs, such as ''Punk'd'' and ''Crossing Jordan''.

Greene's big break came in 2008 when she was cast as Alice Cullen in ''Twilight'', a film based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. She reprised her role as Alice in the 2009 sequel to ''Twilight'', ''The Twilight Saga: New Moon'', 2010's ''The Twilight Saga: Eclipse'', and will reprise the role again in 2011, in ''The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Part 2''.

Greene portrayed Michelle Burkham in the drama film ''Skateland'', which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.

She reunited with her ''Twilight'' co-star Kellan Lutz in the movie ''Warrior'' and also stars in thriller film, ''Summer's Blood'', as well as the Dark Castle Entertainment production ''The Apparition'', which began filming on February 1, 2010.

Appearing nude in a bodypainted bikini, Greene posed for SoBe advertisements that ran in the 2010 issue of the ''Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition''. ''People Magazine'' named Greene as one of the "World's Most Beautiful Women of 2010". She received "The Style Icon Award" at Hollywood Life’s Young Hollywood Awards this year. Greene was also presented an award from the PETA foundation for representing Avon and their no testing on animals policy.

Emma Rose Roberts (born February 10, 1991) is an American actress, model and singer. She is the daughter of actor Eric Roberts and niece of Julia Roberts. Roberts became known for her role as Addie Singer in the Nickelodeon television series ''Unfabulous''. She released her debut album, which also served as the show's soundtrack ''Unfabulous and More''. Roberts then pursued a solo singing career by recording two songs for the soundtracks of ''Ice Princess'' and ''Aquamarine'' (in which Roberts starred as one of the leads). Roberts then began to focus on her acting career, the title character in the 2007 film ''Nancy Drew'', and her voice-over debut in ''The Flight Before Christmas''.

Early life

Roberts was born in Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, New York. She is the daughter of actor Eric Roberts and Kelly Cunningham. Emma Roberts is the stepdaughter of Eliza Roberts and Kelly Nickels (formerly of L.A. Guns) and the niece of actresses Julia Roberts and Lisa Roberts Gillan.She is part Native American. She has two stepsiblings, Morgan and Keaton Simons, and a half sister, Grace Nickels. Roberts attended Archer School for Girls in Brentwood, California from 2004–2005 for 7th and 8th grade.

Acting career

2001–2005: Early career and ''Unfabulous''

During her childhood, Roberts spent time on the sets of her aunt Julia Roberts's films. These experiences sparked a desire in Emma, from the age of five, to follow her father and aunts into the film industry. Although her mother initially wanted her to have a normal childhood, Roberts made her acting debut at age nine in Ted Demme's 2001 drama ''Blow''. It was the first film for which she ever auditioned. In the film, she portrayed Kristina Jung, the daughter of Johnny Depp's character, cocaine smuggler George Jung. In 2001, Roberts also had a role in Leif Tilden's 10-minute short ''bigLove'', and was an uncredited extra in some scenes featuring her aunt Julia Roberts in ''America's Sweethearts''.

She went on to appear in smaller roles in two family films, in 2002's ''Grand Champion'', as the sister of the main character Buddy (Jacob Fisher); and in 2003's ''Spymate'', as the kidnapped daughter of former secret agent Mike Muggins (Chris Potter), who tries to rescue her with the help of a spy monkey. ''Grand Champion'' had a brief theatrical release in August 2004, while ''Spymate'' was not released until February 2006, when it was given a theatrical run in Canada, followed by its DVD release in April 2006. In August 2003, Roberts was scheduled to shoot an independent film called ''Daisy Winters'', starring as the title character, alongside Rachel Weisz. However, the film, which would have been Roberts' first leading role, never began shooting due to financial problems. In 2004, Roberts became a teen idol at the age of 13, starring as the lead character Addie Singer in the Nickelodeon series ''Unfabulous'', which debuted in September 2004. Nickelodeon had wanted to cast her for the role from the beginning, and the teen sitcom earned Roberts a Teen Choice Award nomination and several Young Artist Award nominations. The show aired for three seasons from 2004–2007 and aired 42 episodes; the third season ended on December 16, 2007.

The television series focused on Addie Singer (Roberts) a seventh grader whose life is "unfabulous" and she writes songs about her life. The television series had had various TV movies which include: The Perfect Moment which premiered on Nickelodeon on October 6, 2006. In 2004 Roberts guest-starred in an episode of the Nickelodeon series ''Drake and Josh'', Roberts was in the episode "Honor Council". Because her character on ''Unfabulous'' writes songs and plays guitar, Nickelodeon soon considered a career in music for Roberts.

2006–2011: Theatrical films

In 2006, Roberts returned to the big screen, starring alongside Sara Paxton and singer JoJo in ''Aquamarine''. Roberts won a 2007 Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Young Actress in a Feature Film for her role in the film. The film ''Aquamarine'' took No.5 place at the box office on its opening weekend making 8 million. In early 2006, Roberts finished shooting her title role in ''Nancy Drew''. The film was released to theaters on June 15, 2007, and grossed over 7 million in its opening weekend, though the film was not well received by critics. In December 2007, Roberts began filming ''Hotel For Dogs''. In 2008, Roberts had her voiceover debut when she voiced the English version of the character Wilma in the CGI-animated family film ''The Flight Before Christmas''.

In 2009, Roberts starred alongside Jake T. Austin in ''Hotel for Dogs'', based on the novel by Lois Duncan. The film premiered on January 15, 2009 and was released to theaters on January 16, 2009 and took No.5 place in its opening weekend with over $17 million. The film has to-date grossed over $114 million, and received generally mixed reviews from critics. Roberts starred as the lead in the film ''Wild Child'', about a rebellious teen from Malibu sent to a boarding school in England. Roberts described her character as "pretty much your typical spoiled-brat Malibu socialite who gets shipped off to British boarding school." Roberts also appeared in the indie film ''Lymelife'' with Alec Baldwin, which was premiered at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival. Roberts said that ''Lymelife'' is “kind of like ''American Beauty'' meets ''The Ice Storm''”, and that her reasoning for doing the film was that, “Some people look at me and think, She’s just Julia Roberts’s niece. So I wanted to do something smaller and edgier, something that would show I really am an actress.”

Roberts co-starred as Grace in the hit 2010 film ''Valentine's Day'' with her aunt Julia Roberts. Roberts is set to reunite with ''Nancy Drew'' director Andrew Fleming on both ''Rodeo Gal'' and a ''Nancy Drew'' sequel, although the latter has been put on hold since 2007. She appeared in the sports comedy ''The Winning Season''. In 2010, Roberts also appeared in ''Twelve'' and ''It's Kind of a Funny Story''.

According to BloodyDisgusting.com Roberts will be starring in the horror film, ''Grimm'', which follows the Quinn family that moves to Marburg, Massachusetts, a town that turns out to be haunted by the most horrific nightmares spawned by the imagination of the Brothers Grimm. She co-starred in the film adaptation of ''Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac'', as well as ''A Great Education''. She also starred alongside with Freddie Highmore in 2011's romantic comedy ''The Art of Getting By''. In May 2010, Roberts received the role of Jill Roberts in the Wes Craven film ''Scream 4''. She played a new character in the film, alongside Neve Campbell, The film opened in theaters April 15, 2011.

Music career

In 2005, Roberts had a debut album ''Unfabulous and More''. The album was released on September 27, 2005 through Columbia Records and Nick Records. It also served as the soundtrack to the television series, ''Unfabulous'', in which Roberts stars. The album peaked at No.46 on ''Billboard'''s Top Heatseekers chart. In September 2005, two promotional singles were released from the album: "I Wanna Be" and "Dummy". The album includes several original songs (among them "Dummy" and "I Wanna Be", both of which were also released as music videos, "I Have Arrived" and "This Is Me", which was co-written by Roberts), as well as some of Addie's songs from the first season, including "Punch Rocker" and "New Shoes" (both from the episode "The Party"), "94 Weeks (Metal Mouth Freak)" (from "The Bar Mitzvah") and "Mexican Wrestler" (which had previously appeared on Jill Sobule's 2000 album Pink Pearl and in the episode "The 66th Day" from Unfabulous). Heather Phares from Allmusic praised her "fresh" and "genuine voice" (which is debateable for those who don't prefer her sometimes boisterous vocals), and also claimed that the album was "filled with, sweet idealistic songs sung by a young girl who sounds like a young girl instead of a pop tart". During the same year, Roberts recorded "If I Had It My Way" for the soundtrack of the 2005 Disney film ''Ice Princess''. In 2006, Roberts covered the song "Island in the Sun", which was originally recorded by Weezer in 2001; she recorded the song for the ''Aquamarine's'' soundtrack, a film where she starred as one of the leads.

Roberts said in a 2007 interview, "Right now I am focusing on movies, I am getting ready to start a new movie this summer so that is taking a lot of my time. I think when I am a little bit older it is definitely something I’d like to pursue." In another interview, she said, "My musical career is indefinitely on hold. I don’t like people who become like ‘actor slash singer.’ I think people should be one or the other because usually you’re not going to be great at both. You’re going to better at one, so you might as well stick to the one you’re good at. I’m going for acting."

Other work

In February 2009, she was named the brand ambassador for Neutrogena, appearing in print and television ads for the company. Roberts has also appeared multiple times as part of ''Teen Vogue''’s Best Dressed list, including June 2007, September 2008, December 2008 and February 2009.

Jennifer Shrader Lawrence (born August 15, 1990) is an American film and television actress. She has had lead roles in TBS's ''The Bill Engvall Show'' and in the independent films ''The Burning Plain'' and ''Winter's Bone'', for which she received critical acclaim and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. At age 20, this made her the second youngest actress to ever be nominated for the award. She also played Mystique in ''X-Men: First Class''. In 2012, Lawrence starred as the heroine, Katniss Everdeen, in the film ''The Hunger Games''.

Early life

Lawrence was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and has two older brothers. Her parents are Karen (née Koch), who runs a children's camp, and Gary Lawrence, who once owned a concrete construction firm, Lawrence & Associates. She acted in church plays and, by the age of 14, had decided to pursue an acting career, persuading her parents to take her to New York City to find a talent agent. Although she had no training or experience, she received high praise from the agency for which she auditioned. She graduated from high school two years early in order to begin a career in acting.

Early work

Lawrence was in the main cast of the TBS comedy ''The Bill Engvall Show'', playing eldest daughter 'Lauren Pearson'. Written and created by Bill Engvall and Michael Leeson, the show is set in a Denver suburb and follows the life of 'Bill Pearson' (played by Engvall), a family counselor whose own family could use a little dose of counseling. The series went on the air in September 2007 and was canceled in 2009 after three seasons.

Lawrence had guest-roles in the television series ''The Devil You Know'', ''Cold Case'', ''Medium'', and ''Monk''.

In 2008, she appeared in a small role in the film ''Garden Party'' she played the role of Tiff directed by Jason Freeland. The same year, Lawrence appeared on the big screen in Guillermo Arriaga's film directorial debut ''The Burning Plain'', opposite Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger. Her performance in the film earned her the Marcello Mastroianni Award for best young emerging actor/actress during the Venice Film Festival in 2008.

Still in 2008, she had the lead role in another film director's debut, Lori Petty's family drama ''The Poker House'', opposite Selma Blair and Chloë Moretz, where Lawrence starred as Agnes, a young girl victim of abuse. Ree then discovers that her father put their house and land up as a bond for a court appearance before he disappeared, and the family now faces eviction.

The performance was highly acclaimed by film critics. David Denby, writing in ''The New Yorker'', said "the movie would be unimaginable with anyone less charismatic playing Ree." Lawrence received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, for the role, on January 25, 2011. She is the second-youngest person to date to be nominated for the category.

Lawrence had a role in ''The Beaver'', a dark comedy starring Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson that was filmed in 2009, but which spent an extended period of time stalled due to controversies surrounding Gibson. It was released on May 6, 2011. Lawrence co-starred in the independent film ''Like Crazy,'' which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and received a wider release by Paramount Pictures.

In June 2011, Lawrence appeared as shape-shifting villain Mystique in ''X-Men: First Class'', a prequel to the rest of the ''X-Men'' film series. Lawrence's Mystique is a younger version of the character played by Rebecca Romijn in earlier ''X-Men'' films. Lawrence is also set to star alongside Elisabeth Shue in Mark Tonderai's thriller ''House at the End of the Street'', which completed filming in 2010 and is in post-production.

Lawrence has never taken any drama classes/lessons for acting. She lived in New York City for the first few years of her career, but resides in Santa Monica, California.

In March 2011, Lawrence was cast as Katniss Everdeen in ''The Hunger Games'', which was released on March 23, 2012. She had an accident on the last day of the six-week training phase, but was not severely hurt. On March 23rd, the film earned a record-breaking amount at U.S. midnight screenings for a non-sequel film, grossing $19.7 million. Though the film generally received positive reviews, Lawrence's portrayal of Katniss Everdeen was the most highly praised with Todd McCarthy from The Hollywood Reporter saying Lawrence "anchors" the whole film "with impressive gravity and presence", and ultimately called her "the ideal screen actress". Frank Swietek said that Lawrence is "the one ingredient of the film that can described as outstanding" and continued to praise her for "conveying the character's strength and vulnerability in equal measure. None of the other young actors comes close to matching her". Roger Ebert also agreed that "Lawrence is strong and convincing in the central role".

Lawrence was cast in ''The Silver Linings Playbook'', opposite Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. She was originally cast to play "O" in the film ''Savages'', but dropped out to film ''The Hunger Games'' instead.

On June 18, 2011, it was announced that Lawrence was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, an invitation that included that year, her ''Winter's Bone'' co-star John Hawkes.

Lawrence starts filming the adaptation of the second novel in The Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire, this summer, which is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2013.

Personal life

It was rumored that Jennifer Lawrence was in a relationship with co-star on X-men: First Class, Nicholas Hoult, but she denies this in an interview with Ryan Seacrest saying, "We’re just basketball buddies. We just love playing basketball.".

Miranda May Kerr (born 20 April 1983) is an Australian model best known as one of the Victoria's Secret Angels since mid-2007. She is the first Australian to participate in the Victoria's Secret campaign and also represents Australian fashion chain David Jones. Kerr began modeling in the fashion industry when she was 13, starting at Chaay's Modelling Agency, and soon after winning a 1997 Australian nationwide model search hosted by ''Dolly'' magazine and Impulse fragrances.

She is married to actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she has a son, Flynn.

Early life and family

Kerr was born in Sydney, and raised in the small town of Gunnedah, New South Wales. Her parents are Therese and John Kerr, and she has a younger brother named Matthew (born 1985). In an interview, Kerr stated she is of English, French and Scottish descent. During her childhood, Kerr "raced motorbikes and rode horses on her grandmother's farm." She describes her early life in the Australian countryside as "very grounding ... there wasn't any pretentiousness and no one really cared what you were wearing. You could just be you." Her family moved to Brisbane to allow Kerr and her brother to experience city life, where she graduated from All Hallows' School in 2000. Kerr originally went on to study nutrition and health psychology before pursuing modeling.

Career

''Dolly'' magazine and early work, 1997–2006

At age 13, Kerr entered and won the 1997 annual ''Dolly'' Magazine/Impulse Model Competition. She was flown to Sydney a week before her 14th birthday to shoot for the magazine. Upon Kerr's win, local media expressed "concerned outrage" at her young age. The controversy raised concerns about the glorification of young girls within the fashion, beauty, and entertainment industries. Some conservative media outlets claimed her ''Dolly'' shoot (including images of a 14-year-old Kerr in bathing suits) constituted a form of child pornography. Of the press, Kerr said: "In the media at the time they were trying to cling on to anything remotely to do with paedophilia. Dolly is a magazine for teenage girls, not for old men. And I was fully clothed! Doing a winter shoot! They just made something out of nothing."

Kerr signed to Chic Management's Sydney division. She received considerable commercial exposure after a series of beachwear ads predominantly for Australian surf chain Billabong, in which Kerr modeled surf brands Tigerlily, Roxy, Billabong Girls, and One Teaspoon. This increased her profile in the Australian and Asian markets, after which Kerr relocated to New York.

Once in New York, Kerr had a multitude of runway appearances and then signed with NEXT Model Management in early 2004. From there, she was booked for runway and print campaigns for major labels, including Alex Perry, Baby Phat, Lisa Ho, Voodoo Dolls, Levi's, Bettina Liano, Nicola Finetti, L.A.M.B., Heatherette, Betsey Johnson, Trelise Cooper, Jets, John Richmond, Blumarine Swimwear, Neiman Marcus, Seafolly Swimwear, Anna Molinari, Rock and Republic, Roberto Cavalli, and Ober Jeans.

Kerr was also booked for print in magazines such as ''Elle'', Australian ''Vogue'' and ''Harper's Bazaar'', and was featured in television advertisements for brands like Portmans, Bonds, and Veet.

In early 2006, Kerr appeared in the finale episode of the TV show ''Project Runway'', modeling clothes for contestant Daniel Vosovic's final collection. She was the first woman to walk down the catwalk.

In 2006, Kerr broke into the United States market when she signed a lucrative cosmetics contract with Maybelline New York. The campaign ran in a series of internationally sold women's beauty magazines, including ''Cosmopolitan'', ''CLEO'', and ''Elle'', and was eventually featured in Victoria's Secret catalogues. She (along with several other Victoria's Secret and Next agency models) was also featured in a music video for the American hip-hop single "Number One" by artists Kanye West and Pharrell.

Victoria's Secret and beyond, 2007–present

Following her success with Maybelline, Kerr became the first Australian model to be offered a contract with Victoria's Secret in 2007, replacing Gisele Bündchen. Upon her acceptance, she became the first ever Australian Victoria's Secret Angel joining the stable of models already signed to the lingerie giant, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Karolína Kurková, Adriana Lima, Selita Ebanks, Izabel Goulart, and Heidi Klum. Before becoming an Angel in 2007, Kerr was already picked to become the successor of Alessandra Ambrosio as the face of PINK in 2006. Kerr's popularity continued to increase as one of the globally recognized Angels when she appeared in the Victoria's Secret 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 televised runway shows, which aired on four continents.

In 2007, Kerr had signed on as the face of Californian fashion retailer Arden B. After debuting in their Spring and Summer ad campaigns, Kerr returned for their Fall 2007 campaign, shot by fashion photographer Diego Uchitel. Following her modeling success with Victoria's Secret, Kerr made a small guest appearance in the CBS sitcom ''How I Met Your Mother'' alongside fellow Angels: Adriana Lima, Marisa Miller, Alessandra Ambrosio, Heidi Klum, and Selita Ebanks. She also became the new face of Clinique Happy and signed a lucrative six-figure deal to be the new face of Australian department store David Jones, replacing model Megan Gale. In 2008, having earned an estimated $3.5 million in the past 12 months, ''Forbes'' placed Kerr tenth in the list of the world's top-earning models.

Since 2009, Kerr has been featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Australia magazine, ''Harper's Bazaar Australia'', CS magazine, Sunday Magazine, Tempo magazine Turkey, Cosmopolitan magazine Spain and GQ Germany magazine. Kerr has also been featured in the Pirelli Calendar 2010 and editorials for XOXO Spring/Summer 2009 collection, ''V Magazine'', ''Vogue'' Japan, Russian ''Vogue'', ''Glamour magazine Germany'', ''Numero'' Magazine, US ''Vogue'' and ''Harper's Bazaar Australia''.

Kerr also made an appearance in the spring/summer runway show for Balenciaga, her first designer fashion show, aside from Victoria's Secret, since 2007.

She was chosen to be in the 2010 Pirelli Calendar photographed by Terry Richardson in Bahia, Brazil. The calendar was launched that January. In 2010, Kerr walked for design company Prada for their Fall 2010 collection in Milan Fashion Week alongside fellow Angels Doutzen Kroes and Alessandra Ambrosio and subsequently got booked for the Prada Fall/Winter-campaign alongside Angela Lindvall. Kerr also received an Ad Campaign for top fashion label, Jil Sander.

In September 2010, Kerr landed two editorials and one feature in US ''Vogue'''s September Issue. She recently became the first ever pregnant ''Vogue'' cover girl when landing the cover of ''Vogue'' Australia while six months pregnant.

At models.com, she is ranked at number 4 on the Top 20 sexiest models and 6 most in demand.

She is currently signed with IMG Models, Next Model Management Paris, Traffic Models and Chic Management. In March she hit the catwalk for Balenciaga's Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection as part of Paris Fashion Week, this came just two months after giving birth.

KORA Organics

In October 2009, Kerr launched an organic skincare line, called KORA Organics, in Australia with co-founder George Moskos. Kerr's mother Therese has been the General Manager of KORA Organics since February 2010. The company is based in Sydney. Kerr's brother Matt also works for the company.

Public image

Kerr's model trademark are her dimples. Celebrity photographer Russell James said of Kerr, "The US has fallen in love with her. We love her because she has the most incredible girl-next-door look and she's also insanely beautiful. It means women are not intimidated by her looks and guys think they might be able to talk to her. It's a fantastic combination ... people want to be around her; she's fun on a shoot … and she's not stupid, which can be a very annoying trait among some models." Model agent Ursula Hufnagl described Kerr as "the perfect endorsement", citing her ability to "truly sell a product."

She has been ranked in FHM's '100 Sexiest Women' poll at #56 in 2009, #36 in 2010, and #44 in 2011.

Kerr's charitable work includes Wildlife Warriors Worldwide and Children International. In June 2009, Kerr posed naked, chained to a tree, for the Australian issue of ''Rolling Stone'' magazine, in order to attract public attention for the koala.

In early February 2010, Kerr inadvertently became the subject of global headlines when David Kiely, a banker at Macquarie Bank in Sydney, was caught viewing "racy" photos of the model on his computer while in the background of a colleague's live television interview with Channel 7. Within days, a clip of the interview uploaded onto YouTube received over 1.3 million hits. When Kiely was suspended and an internet campaign launched on his behalf, Kerr herself gave him her backing: "I am told there is a petition to save his job, and of course I would sign it." The episode prompted a 100% increase in the number of Google searches for Kerr's name. A few days after the incident, Macquarie Bank announced that Mr Kiely would keep his job.

Personal life

Kerr practices Nichiren Buddhism and believes "we have a responsibility to bring peace and harmony to our lives and the world." As part of her Nichiren beliefs, Kerr reportedly chants every morning and night for 20 minutes, practices yoga, meditates, and reads widely on spirituality. She maintains her physique through daily yoga, light jogging, and a diet of steamed vegetables, fresh fruit, and fish. Kerr has written an inspirational self-esteem, self-help book called ''Treasure Yourself'' (2010) aimed at the female teenage demographic.

In 2003, Kerr began dating finance broker Adrian Camilleri. Following an Australian Securities and Investments Commission investigation, Camilleri was found guilty on five counts of fraudulent behaviour from February 2003 to February 2004. Kerr subsequently ended the relationship. A 2007 newspaper report claims that Kerr suffered financially "after taking her boyfriend's financial advice" but chose not to take legal action.

She was formerly in a long-term relationship with Jay Lyon (formerly known as Brent Tuhtan), the lead singer of the band Tamarama, who has made appearances on season one of the MTV series ''The City''. Kerr was featured in Tamarama's video clip for "Everything To Me". The two dated for approximately four years but ended on mutual terms in mid-2007.

In late 2007, Kerr began dating actor Orlando Bloom, who also is an SGI member. On 12 February 2009, Kerr and Bloom participated in the "Australia Unites" fundraiser to raise money for the victims of the Australian bushfires on 7 February 2009.

In 2009, the Bling Ring broke into Bloom's home. The group stole luxury brand clothing and jewelry. In this case, the ringleader allegedly wanted Kerr's Victoria's Secret lingerie.

The couple's engagement was announced on 21 June 2010. Kerr released a statement on 22 July 2010, announcing that she and Bloom had married in "an intimate ceremony." Kerr gave birth to a son, Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, on 6 January 2011 in Los Angeles. The middle name 'Christopher' is named after Kerr's ex-boyfriend, Christopher Middlebrook who died in a car accident in 1998, when he was 15. The two were still dating at the time.
