How to load MSX games from WAV files using your computer
How to load MSX games from WAV files using your computer
This is a quick guide to help you convert your CAS files into WAV format and stream it from your PC to your MSX. You can also convert BAS or ROM files to WAV but i find CAS files easier to use. You need the following: -8 pin DIN to 2,5 audio jack cable connected from your MSX to the PC -a CAS to WAV converter - i used CasTools -CasTools- 1- open CasTools and drag the CAS file into it 2- check the 2400 baudrate option and then click the convert to WAV button. 3-on your MSX enter the following command line: BLOAD"CAS:",R 4- use Media Player to play the generated WAV file The game should load Before anyone asks, i'm sorry but i won't post any software or rom links

Pyxidis on MSX vintage home computer
Pyxidis on MSX vintage home computer
www.retrogamingcollector.com ---------------- Gameplay from Pyxidis playing on a Sony Hit Bit MSXvintage home computer. Retro Gaming. Thanks to Tony, Electric Adventures, for sending me the game and thanks to Stew, ninjabearhug for sending me the computer. I'm very grateful to you both www.youtube.com www.youtube.com This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability. It's more a case of me speaking my thoughts while playing the games, many for the first time, and most for the first time in a very long time... so it's all a little spontaneous and random. Predictably, as I never practice before recording, I usually play very badly. Given that I am playing many of these games for the first time, and everything I say is completely off the cuff, you probably shouldn't take what I say overly seriously. The opinions that I express are my feelings at the time, but it's entirely possible that they would be different if I were to take the time to get to grips with the game. However, given that these videos are intended to show that "first time experience", I believe they have some validity or merit. If you'd like to know more about why I make my videos the way that I do, it's all explained in this video www.youtube.com Check out my YouTube Retro Gaming Community Directory to find hundreds of other retro gaming channels at www.retrogamingcollector.com If you're interested in seeing my non-gaming related videos, you may like to check out my other ...

MSX - Testing GRADIUS 2 "Enhanced Fix" on a real MSX2+ A1WX and MEGAFLASHROM SCC+
MSX - Testing GRADIUS 2 "Enhanced Fix" on a real MSX2+ A1WX and MEGAFLASHROM SCC+
Testing the "Enhanced Fix" that was made for this awesome game that takes profit of the benefits from the MSX2+ and Turbo R specs. The game performs an smooth horizontal scrolling, 60hz stable framerate and a better colour palette. It takes profit of the fast R800 processor on the Turbo-R MSX's and Z80B used on the Panasonic FX - WX - WSX MSX2+ models that can run at 6MHZ. The game becomes much harder with this fix, and it's because there are not slowdown anymore... In fact, the game goes really fast and smooth. A bad thing about this FIX is that there are channels on the SCC that goes in a higher tone... Maybe it's a problem of the 6MHZ turbo. It's working on a real MSX2+ and the MEGAFLASHROM SCC+ cartridge. Enjoy !

MSX Game: Yie Ar Kung-Fu 2: The Emperor Yie-Gah (1985 Konami)
MSX Game: Yie Ar Kung-Fu 2: The Emperor Yie-Gah (1985 Konami)
A side-scrolling fighting game sequel to the MSX/NES version of the first game rather than the arcade release. You play Lee Young again who appeared in the first game on his quest of becoming a kung-fu master. Lee has a wide range of attacks such as traditional punching and kicking attacks as well as jumping ones. Opponents are well-equipped with weapons and attacks. OpenMSX was useless even with the TAS mode it didn't do any Re-recording and desync so I had to use BlueMSX with cheats instead. This game is even better than the first game but the controls are even worse.

Work in progress - DARC (SMS/MSX)
Work in progress - DARC (SMS/MSX)
Current state of the SMS mode 4 project. After some short thinking the project has been named to DARC The code has been tested on a real Sega Master System (on 50 and 60Hz) and works without any nasty VRAM update issues. I haven't been able to test the MSX port using a Franky. I do own a Franky now but I did not have the time to port things like the mapper routines. I suspect some issues on MSX as it is a bit slower due to the waitstates that the MSX has but SMS not.
