A talk box or talkbox is an effects unit that allows musicians to modify the sound of a musical instrument by shaping the frequency content of the sound and to apply speech sounds (in the same way as singing) onto the sounds of the instrument. Typically, a talk box directs sound from the instrument into the musician's mouth by means of plastic tube adjacent to their vocal microphone. The musician controls the modification of the instrument's sound by changing the shape of the mouth, "vocalizing" the instrument's output into a microphone.
A talk box is usually an effects pedal that sits on the floor and contains a speaker attached with an airtight connection to a plastic tube; however, it can come in other forms, including homemade, usually crude, versions, and higher quality custom-made versions. The speaker is generally in the form of a compression driver, the sound-generating part of a horn loudspeaker with the horn replaced by the tube connection.
The box has connectors for the connection to the speaker output of an instrument amplifier and a connection to a normal instrument speaker. A foot-operated switch on the box directs the sound either to the talk box speaker or to the normal speaker. The switch is usually a push-on/push-off type. The other end of the tube is taped to the side of a microphone, extending enough to direct the reproduced sound in or near the performer's mouth.
Box (plural boxes) describes a variety of containers and receptacles for permanent use as storage, or for temporary use, often for transporting contents.
Boxes may be made of durable materials such as wood or metal, or of corrugated fiberboard, paperboard, or other non-durable materials. The size may vary from very small (e.g., a matchbox) to the size of a large appliance. A corrugated box is a very common shipping container. When no specific shape is described, a box of rectangular cross-section with all sides flat may be expected, but a box may have a horizontal cross section that is square, elongated, round or oval; sloped or domed top surfaces, or non-vertical sides.
A decorative or storage box may be opened by raising, pulling, sliding or removing the lid, which may be hinged and/or fastened by a catch, clasp, or lock.
Several types of boxes are used in packaging and storage.

Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London. They achieved international acclaim with their progressive and psychedelic music. Distinguished by their use of philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, extended compositions and elaborate live shows, they are one of the most commercially successful and musically influential groups in the history of popular music.
Pink Floyd were founded in 1965 by students Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright. They gained popularity performing in London's underground music scene during the late 1960s, and under Barrett's leadership released two charting singles and a successful debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967). David Gilmour joined as a fifth member in December 1967; Barrett left the band in April 1968 due to deteriorating mental health. Waters became the band's primary lyricist and, by the mid-1970s, their dominant songwriter, devising the concepts behind their critically and commercially successful albums The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), The Wall (1979) and The Final Cut (1983). The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall became two of the best-selling albums of all time.

Moot Booxlé demonstrates how he made a cheap talkbox out of common parts, for a very small amount of money and time. The idea for this project came from paranorm's article here: http://spithate.com/labor-of-computer-love-two-decades-of-talkbox-attempts/ This will NOT give you a sound like a pro talkbox, but it's cheap, easy, and fun. NOTE: This was done before I got into talkboxing properly, and is probably a poor representation of me AND my talkbox skills. I am no longer answering questions about this thing. If yours doesn't work as good as you think it should, consider making a 'real' talkbox, which will give you real results. Details are on my site at: http://www.mootbooxle.com/talkbox.html

Deze MXR M222 Talk Box is gebaseerd op de originele Talkbox uit de jaren '60. http://www.jimdunlop.com Please excuse the fact that I only had a cheesey little PA to demo this unit with. Once I'd finished, I realized that it will sound WAY better once used with a real PA. The tone, in the room, was great! Really loved it. It takes some practice to get used to making the word shapes with your mouth, and I think in a matter of hours, you could master it and make yer guitar talk in any language! ROCK OUT!

At its core, CreatureBox is for anyone who enjoys bizarre monster design, comics of spacemen, and illustrations of everything in between. For the past several years, Dave Guertin and Greg Baldwin have spent most of their time digging deep into what makes characters tick while trying to tell a few stories along the way. They’ve had influential childhoods filled with cartoons, robots, aliens, and creatures of all shapes and sizes. Yet through it all they’ve found collaboration to be the most critical ingredient. Together this has allowed them to expand their sensibilities while challenging each other to become better designers. Through Creaturebox.com, visitors are invited along for the ride as Dave and Greg dive into the deep end.

Last night I had a dream
It scared the shit out of me
'cause you were dying
Yeah you were dying
And everyone was around
And you were on the ground
And everyone was around
Dying, you were dying
Last night I had a dream
It scared the shit out of me
'cause you were dying
Yeah you were dying
And you were all alone you were all alone
You were by a phone
But you were all alone
Last night I had a dream
It scared the shit out of me
'cause you were dying
Yeah you were dying
And your friends were there
And all your friends were there
In your underwear
And all your friends were there
