Top 17 Best PC Games of the 2000's - LGR
Top 17 Best PC Games of the 2000's - LGR
Celebrating three decades of PC gaming! I take a look at my personal top games for the PC, ending with this video of the years 2000-2009. Ah, the era where the PC starts really getting shafted due to lame publisher dominance and a console-centric industry. Still tons of great games, despite this! This is 100% subjective and my own opinion, nothing more. Games were chosen on the basis of how awesome the game was and how often I go back and play them. Why 17? Because it's an odd number, very odd. My apologies to Assassin's Creed 2. I love you, but your publisher Ubisoft was an absolute turd with the obnoxious and pathetic DRM required to play on the PC. I despise Ubisoft, not Ezio, for making one of my top 10 games of the decade unplayable on my platform of choice. Sure, it's been somewhat "fixed" now, but I have not forgotten, as Ubisoft has not repented.

BBC Micro Computer System Review - LGR
BBC Micro Computer System Review - LGR
The BBC Microcomputer was Acorn's follow-up to the Atom, and launched in 1981. Largely due to its BBC backing, the computer was quite successful in the UK, especially among schools and businesses. But is it still worth owning to a current collector of vintage computers? This is an overview of the history, hardware, and software of the Beeb from the perspective of an American collector. How do the pros and cons stack up, and is it worth getting a Beeb over its cut-down sibling, the Electron? Many thanks to Mark from the UK for the BBC Model B! Also a big thanks to ImperialProductions for the Acornsoft software! www.youtube.com For lots of great info on the Beeb, check out Stairway To Hell: www.stairwaytohell.com Grab sweet PC games and help support LGR! www.gamefanshop.com Or just donate: donate.thebasingers.com Follow LGR on Twitter: twitter.com Like LGR on the Book of Faces: www.facebook.com Photo credits: Wikimedia Commons and Phil Gyford, used under Creative Commons 2.0 attribution license. Saw The Video Game Gameplay (PC HD)
Saw The Video Game Gameplay (PC HD)
Saw The Video Game Gameplay (PC HD) Saw (also known as Saw: The Video Game) is a third person survival horror video game with action elements. It was developed by Zombie Studios and was published by Konami. The game launched on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, with a downloadable version being made for the Microsoft Windows platform. It is an adaption of the Saw film series, and was released on October 6, 2009 in North America[5][6][7], November 20 in Europe[2], and October 6 in Australia.[2] The Microsoft Windows version will be released on October 31, a few weeks following the initial release for consoles. Saw was released around the same time as Saw VI, although they have entirely separate story lines.[8] The development team also brought in James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the creators of the first Saw film, to write a new storyline and design new traps for the game.[9] In Saw, The Jigsaw Killer has healed Detective David Tapp from his gunshot wound, and places him in an abandoned asylum to teach him a lesson of life appreciation. Obsessed, Tapp traverses the building gathering clues along the way in hopes of finally apprehending Jigsaw. He encounters both friends and foes as he comes closer to escaping the asylum and its inhabitants who have instructions contrary to his survival. Along the way, Tapp uncovers the origins of Jigsaw and his motives behind his tests, as well as learning the fates of those from the first Saw film.[4] The game was originally being ...

How to Build a Gaming Computer
How to Build a Gaming Computer
This video was created and posted in December of 2010. Parts selected are shown in painstaking detail in the beginning of the video and listed in detail at the end of the video. Prices and parts selected reflect the market in December 2010. The contest ended and the winner has had possession of this computer since February 2011. In this video, Carey Holzman teaches you step-by-step how to build your own gaming computer. This video is shot in 720p for clarity and, if your internet connection can handle it, it is recommended you select that option in full screen viewing mode using the buttons on the lower right of the picture. Never work on any electric device while it is plugged into the wall, even if it is turned off! •Electric shock can only occur when contact is made between two points of a circuit; when voltage is applied across a victim's body. •Power circuits usually have a designated point that is "grounded:" firmly connected to metal rods or plates buried in the dirt to ensure that one side of the circuit is always at ground potential (zero voltage between that point and earth ground). •A ground fault is an accidental connection between a circuit conductor and the earth (ground). •Special, insulated shoes and mats are made to protect persons from shock via ground conduction, but even these pieces of gear must be in clean, dry condition to be effective. Normal footwear is not good enough to provide protection from shock by insulating its wearer from the earth. Don't ...

PC Gaming Weekly News - 25/11/2011 Yogscast vs Notch
You can tell it's been another week because there's another gaming news. You could set your calendar by this, it's so good. In fact you probably should. Anyway, onto the stories of the week: South Korea's kids are so addicted to gaming that there's an MMO curfew from 12 midnight to 6 am in place now, set in stone. It's the law, baby! We've also seen some shitty drama off Notch about Yogscast, with some terrible behaviour off him and gracious words off them. We're not taking sides. But Notch behaved like a twonk. It's not all drama though; we discuss i44, the MLG champion Leenock and Dreamhack, two of which are pure, the other not so much. Theme Hospital - DOS PC Game Review - LGR
Bullfrog's Theme Hospital is like no other management sim you have ever played. Well, except for maybe its predecessor Theme Park. Still, nothing like a little bloaty head and slack tongue to start the day off right! Also check out the remake project, Corsix-TH: code.google.com I forgot to add that the last official patch for the game added multiplayer capability. Serial and modem connections allow for two players to compete in building the best hospital while competing against two computer-controlled hospitals, while the IPX/SPX option allows up to four players to compete against each other on a network for the best hospital.
