Korean Central News Agency Pyongyang, January 9 Group Race of Officials Marks First Sports Day of Year A group running of officials from ministries and national institutions took place on Sunday, the first sports day of the year in the DPRK. Those officials gathered at Kim Il Sung Square with the zeal to hasten the advance for a great surge in building a thriving nation in good health by making sports popular and an inseparable part of daily life. And they ran through Sungri Street and Mansudae Street, divided into two groups. Among them were officials from the Ministry of Light Industry, Ministry of Coal Industry, Ministry of Electric Power Industry, Ministry of Metal Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Unha Guidance Bureau and the Mining Machine Industry Guidance Bureau. Running through the streets, they hardened their will to fulfill their responsibility in this year′s general offensive and thus contribute to implementing the strategy of the Workers′ Party of Korea for the improvement of people′s living standard. November 30, 2011: Greenpeace activists dressed as tigers blocked the gates of Shastri Bhawan, which houses the Ministry of Coal, demanding that forests in Central India be saved from coal mining. 20 life size tigers were chained in front of the main gate to protest against the threat mining posed to their habitat. Three activists in tiger costumes demanded a meeting with the minister to deliver petitions signed by 112000 people from across the country opposed to the coal ministry's demand for more forest land.
