Medium-sized farms are expected to face stricter anti-pollution rules this spring and in the fall designed to reduce the amount of phosphorus that ends up in the state's waterways. The Agency of Agriculture's new rules will require the roughly 200 farms, defined as having 200 to 699 cows, to develop nutrient management plans and better manure storage.
