British Touring Car Championship 2005
British Touring Car Championship 2005
After 14 long years competing in the British Touring Car Championship it was finally Matt's time to take the crown in front of a raucous crowd, delighted to see the 'People's Champion' on the top of the podium. The Honda driver becomes the first privateer to win the championship since 1991, and this official review tells the story of how he finally managed to pull it off! This year's championship was certainly not cut and dry from the beginning - Dan Eaves became the first driver to win three races in one day at Thruxton, while 2003 champion Yvan Muller was nipping at Neal's heels throughout the season taking five victories, closely followed by the 2001 title holder Jason Plato. It was all to play for as they neared the final round at Brands Hatch and we donÍt miss a second! Get into the thick of the action through every round with on-board and trackside footage from races and qualifying as well as post-race interviews and analysis. You'll feel like you've been in every race after watching this blistering review!

1989 British Touring Car Championship - RS500 Sierra Cosworth
The 1989 British Touring Car Championship from the full Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. The first race of the year was won by Andy Rouse in his 'Mighty' Ford Sierra RS500. The next race at Thruxton was won by Robb Gravett. Gravett then went on to win the next six races. The last two races, at Thruxton and Silverstone, were also won by Rouse and Gravett. It was the 'UnderDog', Rob Gravett who won the championship outright though, despite the teams season long struggle to run through the year on a very low budget & with no main sponsor !

1990 Esso British Touring Car Championship @ The Birmingham SuperPrix
1990 Esso British Touring Car Championship @ The Birmingham SuperPrix
The first race of the year was won by Andy Rouse in his Ford Sierra RS500. The next race at Thruxton was won by Robb Gravett. Gravett also won the next six races. At the Birmingham Superprix it was a restart after the red flag was pulled out after 100 yards into the race when Graham Goode collided into Lawrence Bristow when he got boxed in with Sean Walker Rouse went on to 'Rip Up' the streets of Birmingham City Centre & win this Birmingham Superprix race . . . but this race would be best remembered for the last lap accident between Frank Sytner and John Cleland. Sadly, it would be the last time that the BTCC would race on the track. Gravett then won at Donington. The last two races, at Thruxton and also Silverstone, were won by Rouse and Gravett. It was the 'UnderDog', Rob Gravett who won the championship outright though, despite the teams struggle to run through the season on a very low budget & with no main sponsor.
