Her Father Pandharinath Kolhapure was a classical singer and related to Dinanath Mangeshkar, father of singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. She also released an album with Bhappi Lahri called Music Lovers. It was Asha Bhosle who suggested Padmini's name to Dev Anand, who then cast her in Ishq Ishq Ishq (1975). This led to other films, such as Dreamgirl (1978), Zindagi, and Saajan Bina Suhagan (1978). She also gave a very commendable performance of a young school girl inflicted by black magic in Gehrayee (1980). Her most famous child role was playing a child in Raj Kapoor's 1977 film Satyam Shivam Sundaram. Her success led to her most controversial role in Insaaf Ka Tarazu (1980), a remake of Lipstick (1976), where she played the rape victim that was originally played by Mariel Hemingway. She earned the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance. She also graduated to heroine roles at the age of 15 in Nasir Hussain's Zamane Ko Dikhana Hai opposite Rishi Kapoor. The film flopped, but she reunited with Rishi Kapoor for his father Raj Kapoor's film Prem Rog ...

Farewell Mr. Shammi Kapoor - Yeh Chaand Sa Roshan Chehra - Kashmir Ki Kali [1964]

He was the second son of the great Prithviraj Kapoor and brother of the legendary actors Raj Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor. Extremely handsome and dashing, he was the leading star of Hindi cinema from the late 50s to the early 70s. He received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1968 for his performance in Brahmachari and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Vidhaata in 1982. Shammi Kapoor is credited with having changed the way male leading actors acted. Before his debut, the hero was supposed to be the tragic king, mouthing soulful verses and dialogues, pining for his lost love or land or craving for freedom. The hero was always a function of external forces and was mostly reactive, as he was vulnerable to various external influences. Shammi changed all of this. He introduced dancing at a time when the hero clung to a pillar and watched the heroine gyrate away and never matched a step ...
