Bragg Creek is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County in Division No. 6. It is also recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada.
Bragg Creek is located 30 km (19 mi) west of Calgary (via Highway 8 and Highway 22) at the confluence of the Elbow River and Bragg Creek. It is located north of the intersection of Highway 66 and Highway 22.
Bragg Creek is named after Albert Warren Bragg from Collingwood, Nova Scotia and his 14-year-old brother John Thomas who homesteaded in the area in 1894. The community was established between a forestry reserve, the Sarcee Indian reserve and a Provincial Park. Ranching was the original primary economic generator in Bragg Creek. The economy diversified with the emergence of recreation in the 1920s.
Bragg Creek was featured in the feature films Storm (1987) and Killer Image (1992) both directed by David Winning, and also Betrayed (1988) directed by Costa-Gavras. During the 1990s, CBC aired the television program North of 60, which was mainly filmed in Bragg Creek. The town was the filming location for the new BBC/Discovery Channel series Dinosapien (2007) and the 2009 CBC television series Wild Roses, as well as portions of the movie FUBAR.

High River is a town within the Calgary Region of Alberta, Canada with a population of 12,920 (2011). It is 37 kilometres (23 mi) south of the City of Calgary, at the junction of Alberta Highways 2 and 23. High River is located approximately 54 km (34 mi) south of downtown Calgary.
The community takes its name from the Highwood River, which flows through the town. The area was originally inhabited largely by the Blackfoot First Nation, who called the site Ispitzee (or the “place of high trees along running water”). By 1870, after the arrival of the North West Mounted Police and after Treaty Number 7 had been signed in 1877, settlers began arriving into the region. High River's development centered on a convenient location for people, horses and cattle to cross the Highwood River - a location known as "The Crossing".
Development of the town was supported by the completion of the Calgary and Edmonton Railway in 1892. High River incorporated as a village on December 5, 1901, and was incorporated as a town on February 12, 1906.
Alberta (/ælˈbɜːrtə/) is a western province of Canada. With an estimated population of 4,196,457 as of July 1, 2015, it is Canada's fourth-most populous province and the most populous of Canada's three prairie provinces. Alberta and its neighbour Saskatchewan were districts of the Northwest Territories until they were established as provinces on September 1, 1905. The premier has been Rachel Notley since May 2015.
Alberta is bounded by the provinces of British Columbia to the west and Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories to the north, and the US state of Montana to the south. Alberta is one of three Canadian provinces and territories to border only a single US state and one of only two landlocked provinces. It has a predominantly Humid continental climate, but seasonal temperature average swings are smaller than to areas further east, with winters being warmed by occasional chinook winds bringing sudden warming which moderates average temperatures.
Alberta's capital Edmonton is near the geographic centre of the province and is the primary supply and service hub for Canada's crude oil, oil sands (Athabasca oil sands) and other northern resource industries.

This video starts at the Hwy 22 intersection at Bragg Creek and headd west toward Elbow Falls. This is footage at about 4pm MST on June 20, 2013. Bragg Creek runs alongside the Elbow River in Alberta and experienced massive flooding throughout the townsite. There are expectations that Southern Alberta will receive more significantly more rain over the next 48-72 hours, which causes increased concern for areas including Bragg Creek, Canmore, High River, and Okotoks.
Bragg Creek during the June 2013 flood. For those unfamiliar, the water is usually ~20 feet under that bridge, and this bridge is the only access point to the communities beyond. Taken ~11am June 20, 2013. Update: Water levels have risen, the entire town area is now filled with water. The bridge can no longer support a vehicle and anyone who did not evacuate has been isolated. The abutments are supposedly washing away. 21/06/2013 Update 2: Water has receded. The restaurant seen mid-way through (Infusion) has been totally destroyed. Most of the shops had minor to substantial water damage depending on their location. Thankfully, hundreds of people from the community came out to volunteer and help clean up.
I saw a carcass by the parking lot at the entrance to West Bragg Creek, Kananaskis on September 16. I took this video of the bear guarding the carcass and digging a pit to bury it on the 18th. This is a female bear. The carcass was a very large animal, but I couldn't tell what kind. Visiting Stu & Fi at their fantastic home in Bragg Creek in Alberta, Canada. (Otherwise known as BBC, "Brits in Bragg Creek"). Whilst there we visited the surrounding area, Banff National Park, Longview, Kananaskis and Calgary to name but a few. I also finally chopped down a tree with an axe (well, sort of)
On a solo day trip, I travel to Bragg Creek Provincial Park, just on the outside of the hamlet of Bragg Creek. The area is located roughly 40 minutes west of Calgary. There I started my time in the park by having some lunch at a picnic table. There are many picnic tables at the park, including a couple fire pits. There were 2 parts to the park, one was grassy, and one was more of the natural vegetation. I suspect the grassy area would be great to throw around a frisbee with others when I come back out here. You can even walk down to the Elbow River, where damage from the 2013 flood can still be seen nearly 3 years later. On my second solo trip in a row, I headed out to West Bragg Creek Park, roughly 20 minutes west of the hamlet of Bragg Creek. There were around 8 or so picnic tables at the park, and I mainly explored a creek while I was there. I also noticed that this park seems to be a kind of junction for a vast array of trails in the area. I will definitely be returning to this park later in the year to hike some of the trails! We entered the US at Detroit on the Ambassador Bridge. We drove through Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana - most of it on I-90. We stayed 2 days in Chicago and 2 in West Yellowstone. The other overnight stops were in Sioux Falls, SD, Sheridan, WY and Kalispell, MT. Much of Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks were not open as we were there at the end of April. These are a few highlights. Our trip started in Hamilton, ON and ended in Bragg Creek, AB (we are Canadians) a distance of 5,200 km (3,230 mi), but this video shows highlights of the trip from Chicago to Yellowstone. We did the trip in 8 days.

In this message we delve into the little questions of life like... why is there evil, destiny, the God-world relationship, and Jesus as the crux of human history. ‘I am casting out demons and performing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third day I finish my work. Yet today, tomorrow, and the next day I must be on my way, because it is impossible for a prophet to be killed outside of Jerusalem.’ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing… I tell you, you will not see me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.’” Luke 13:32-35 We know that all things work together ...
The Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 18–20, 1863,[1][2] marked the end of a Union offensive in southeastern Tennessee and northwestern Georgia called the Chickamauga Campaign. The battle was the most significant Union defeat in the Western Theater of the American Civil War and involved the second-highest number of casualties in the war following the Battle of Gettysburg. It was the first major battle of the war that was fought in Georgia. The battle was fought between the Army of the Cumberland under Maj. Gen. William Rosecrans and the Confederate Army of Tennessee under Gen. Braxton Bragg, and was named for Chickamauga Creek, which meanders near the battle area in northwest Georgia (and ultimately flows into the Tennessee River about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) northeast of downtown Chatta...
