I am a freelance writer and editor. Though I prefer to work in relative anonymity, and am thankful that I do so most of the time, the reality is that I must have some public identity. An online portfolio is now expected of those of us with interests in new media and digital compositions.
I have maintained a Web presence since 1994, using this site as a platform for design experiments and the learning of new technologies. My technical background reflects my curiosity and enthusiasm for new media.
Screenplays and a non-fiction work on education currently receive most of my attention. Additionally, I contribute a monthly column on technology and life to Visalia Direct magazine, write short stories for two online publications, and provide confidential writing and editing services.
I always have various projects on my desk: novels, plays, computer program ideas, databases, and various articles I have written. I never seem to have enough time for all my interests.
A professor once suggested that I needed to choose what I am going to be. I cannot do that. Life will help choose what I am tomorrow, just as events have shaped who I am at this moment.
It is easier to know what I am not — and will never be — than to know what I will be.
