DSB (railway company)
DSB, an abbreviation of Danske Statsbaner (Danish State Railways), is the largest Danish train operating company, and the largest in Scandinavia. While DSB is responsible for passenger train operation on most of the Danish railways, goods transport and railway maintenance are outside its scope. DSB runs a commuter rail system, called S-train, in the area around the Danish capital, Copenhagen, that connects the different areas and suburbs in the greater metropolitan area. DSB also operates some trains in Sweden.
DSB was founded in 1885 when the state-owned companies De jysk-fynske Statsbaner and De sjællandske Statsbaner merged.
History
The first railways in Denmark were built and operated by private companies. The railways in Funen and Jutland were built by Peto and Betts who also supplied the locomotives (built by Canada Works, Birkenhead). Most of the technical staff was also recruited from Britain, notably from the Eastern Counties Railway. When Peto and Betts went into insolvency, the Danish state took over Det danske Jernbane-Driftsselskab (The Danish Railway Operating Company) as of September 1, 1867 under the name De jysk-fyenske Jernbaner (the Funen and Jutland Railways), from 1874 De danske Statsbaner i Jylland og Fyn (The Danish State Railways in Jutland and Funen). The network was extended by new construction and by acquisition of the privately operated lines from Silkeborg to Herning (November 1, 1879) and from Grenaa to Randers and Aarhus (April 1, 1881).

In Baseband Communication, the message signal is transmitted without any modification. The term baseband signal is used for the original message signal generated from the source.
Telephony is an example of baseband communication.
Carrier Communication:
The communication which uses the modulation to shift the frequency spectra of the message signal is known as the carrier communication.
So, for the frequency shifting, the high-frequency carrier signal is used. The carrier signal does not carry information but helps in carrying the message signal. It acts as an envelope. In carrier modulation, any three of the basic properties of the carrier like the amplitude, frequency, or the phase is changed according to the message or the baseband signal.
Amplitude Modulation:
In amplitude modulation, the amplitude of the carrier signal is changed according to the message signal.
Depending on the frequency spectra of the modulated signal, the Amplitude Modulation can be classified into four categories.
1) Double Side Band Suppressed Carrier (DSB-SC)
2) Double Side Band with Carrier (AM )
3) Single Side Band Modulation (SSB)
4) Vestigial Side Band Modulation (VSB)
In this video, the DSB-SC is explained and its modulation and demodulation process is explained.
In DSB-SC modulation, the bandwidth of the modulated signal is two times the modulating signal.
And since no discrete carrier signal is sent after the modulation, this type of
modulation is known as Double Side Band Suppressed Carrier.
This video will be helpful to all the students of science and engineering in understanding the Double Side Band Suppressed Carrier Modulation.

În luna decembrie, rama Alstom Coradia Stream IC5, comandată de operatorul danez de stat(DSB), a intrat pe teritoriul României, cu destinația Făurei, pentru a d...
În luna decembrie, rama Alstom Coradia Stream IC5, comandată de operatorul danez de stat(DSB), a intrat pe teritoriul României, cu destinația Făurei, pentru a definitiva o serie de teste necesare autorizării acestui model.
Deși face parte din aceeași familie cu ramele comandate de ARF, modelul pentru DSB are niște diferențe notabile. Pe lângă cele de aspect(mască custom, cuple ce pot fi acoperite), noul tren este mult mai scurt față de ceea cu ce suntem obișnuiți, fiind alcătuit din 5 module. Ba mai mult, între modulele 2 și 3, rama dispune de o joncțiune, ce permite împărțirea trenului în 2 pentru manevrabilitate mai ușoară în cazul reviziilor. Are 4 boghiuri motoare, viteza maximă fiind de 200 km/h.
La interior, rama este goală, nefiind încă echipată pentru serviciu comercial, această etapă urmând a fi completată după finalizarea testelor. Vor avea o capacitate de 300 locuri, urmând a fi mult mai spațioase și confortabile decât modelul aflat în exploatare la CFR Călători.
În total, Alstom va livra 100 de unități pentru DSB, modelul IC5 urmând a înlocui vechile unități IC3, IC4 și IR4, ce vor fi retrase treptate. Inițial, erau programate pentru intrarea în circulație în anul 2024(target nerespectat din cauza multiplelor întârziere pe linia de producție), noul deadline fiind acum 2027.

Types of Communication:
1) Baseband Communication
2) Carrier Communication
In Baseband Communication, the message signal is transmitted without any modification. The term baseband signal is used for the original message signal generated from the source.
Telephony is an example of baseband communication.
Carrier Communication:
The communication which uses the modulation to shift the frequency spectra of the message signal is known as the carrier communication.
So, for the frequency shifting, the high-frequency carrier signal is used. The carrier signal does not carry information but helps in carrying the message signal. It acts as an envelope. In carrier modulation, any three of the basic properties of the carrier like the amplitude, frequency, or the phase is changed according to the message or the baseband signal.
Amplitude Modulation:
In amplitude modulation, the amplitude of the carrier signal is changed according to the message signal.
Depending on the frequency spectra of the modulated signal, the Amplitude Modulation can be classified into four categories.
1) Double Side Band Suppressed Carrier (DSB-SC)
2) Double Side Band with Carrier (AM )
3) Single Side Band Modulation (SSB)
4) Vestigial Side Band Modulation (VSB)
In this video, the DSB-SC is explained and its modulation and demodulation process is explained.
In DSB-SC modulation, the bandwidth of the modulated signal is two times the modulating signal.
And since no discrete carrier signal is sent after the modulation, this type of
modulation is known as Double Side Band Suppressed Carrier.
This video will be helpful to all the students of science and engineering in understanding the Double Side Band Suppressed Carrier Modulation.
