Topeka Sizzle
Topeka, located in Shawnee County, serves as the capital of Kansas. The metropolitan area is rich in history and highly favored by nature. It lies on rich sandy loam river bottomland where Indians lived for many years using the excellent fords on the Kansas (Kaw) River. Among the first permanent settlers were three French-Canadian (Pappan) brothers. They married three Kanza (Kansas) Indian sisters and established a ferry over the river in 1842. A grandson from one of the marriages was Charles Curtis, the only Vice-President of the United States to be of Indian descent. (Charles Curtis served with President Herbert C. Hoover from 1929 to 1933.) In the 1800s, Topeka served as a gateway west for pioneers traveling on the Oregon Trail or by railroad. Topeka is home to the highly acclaimed Kansas Museum of History where you'll step back in time and learn all about the land that is Kansas. Relive the history of Kansas through exhibits, videos, and programs. Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site overlooks the Oregon Trail's ferry site across the Kansas River. The site includes the original Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad depot from Pauline as well as a turn of the century town, botanical gardens, and dinners served by hosts in period dress. Topeka has been an active participant in the modern-day Civil Rights Movement. The Monroe School is the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic site where visitors gain an understanding and appreciation for the role of this ...

Mercenaries 2
Ironic and chaotic, this fun and explosive narrative features the three main characters in EA's newest video game release, Mercenaries 2. In this spot, we took the game's core ideas of fantasy and chaos and blew them sky high. The agency creatives came to us with the ideas of revenge, mayhem and ironic music in a world where money is all-important. Since cash is a prime motivator for mercenaries, we rendered the look and feel of the spot by using U.S. currency as texture, and seamlessly wove that into the entire treatment. We wanted the look to hearken to the video game dynamic, but also have a more illustrative and artistic quality. From there, we focused in on telling a high-impact story that's true to the game's imaginary world, without giving away any of the narrative's best secrets. Also by design, where video game ads often feature heavy-metal soundtracks, the vocalists and their humorous, upbeat tune gives the high-action an ironic twist.

Eliane Radigue, VIRTUOSO LISTENING / L'ÉCOUTE VIRTUOSE (teaser)
DVD en vente sur le site de La Huit. DVD now available on La Huit website. www.lahuit.com ---- A film directed by Anaïs Prosaïc with : Rhodri Davies, Kasper T. Toeplitz, Kaffe Matthews, AGF, Ryoko Akama, Carol Robinson, Bruno Martinez, Charles Curtis, Emmanuel Holterbach Between 1967 and 2000, Eliane Radigue composed more than twenty pieces of electronic music. She stopped working with the analogic synthesizer in 2001, and now devotes herself to instrumental music, still remaining faithful to the same aesthetics. For a composer who mostly worked alone, to collaborate closely with musicians during the compositional process, is an epiphany... In June 2011 in London, The Spitalfields Summer Music Festival paid tribute to her entire body of work : the « Grande Dame » of long duration music was enthusiastically welcomed by a new generation of young admirers who could be her grand children...

The Song "Mess Around" by Ray Charles, here in the 2004 movie "Ray". www.imdb.com Jamie Foxx plays the role as Ray Charles and Curtis Armstrong plays the role as Ahmet Ertegün. The song is also known from the Star Wars parody "It's A Trap!" from the Family guy series. Can't see subtitles?
