The Observation Problem 1/3: "Observation is Creation"
The Observation Problem 1/3: "Observation is Creation"
Visit Dimitri Halley's Facebook Page: www.facebook.com The observation problem is presented in psychological terms of projection and Jungian psychology. For a transcript of the lecture go to the writing section of my website (dimitrihalley.com). The lecture was part of a course given by Dimitri Halley at the university of Aruba called Love, Compassion and Intimacy in Modern Society, Interpersonal Relations and Family. A summary of the overall course follows: Perfect balance, relationship, connection, empathy, agape love, love without conditions, and compassion all point to true love which is the oldest power which is known. Why do we fall out of love? At the highest level of development extreme love is felt. Yet all too often true love and compassion is confused and misunderstood. The module will develop an accurate understanding of love and compassion via a multidisciplinary perspective. This will be done by a comparative approach to Eastern and Western scientific and spiritual traditions and also more modern psycho-therapeutic and social traditions, and also art, poetry, music. The role of the ego versus compassion and love will be considered. Also will be elaborated on how social intervention policy and psycho-social care services can respond with compassion (as an intervention method) to clients and social problems on the different levels of society. Core-concepts to approach love and compassion will be consciousness, systemic, critical and paradoxical thinking. A ...

24 hrs of World Air Traffic compressed in 1 minute
24 hrs of World Air Traffic compressed in 1 minute
World Air Traffic one minute video...(24 hours condensed to 1 minute) This is a fascinating one-minute video... It is a 24-hour observation of all of the large aircraft flights in the world (recorded by the airplane flight transponders via Geo-stationary orbital satellites) patched together and condensed to about a minute, ie, you watch 24 hours of flights compressed into one minute. You can see it is summer in the north by the location of sunlight on the planet. With this 24-hour observation of aircraft travel on the earth's surface, we also get to see the daylight pattern move across the planet. Note the intensity of traffic in London Heathrow Airport Notice the reduction of activity in each region during the darkness of late night/early morning.

Soilwork - Observation slave
Soilwork - Observation slave
Observation slave by Soilwork. =D [Lyrics] Find a piece of land A million demands And try to make it once again A piece of land To make it a plan Always trying to be one with the making Waiting for a statement, how will I know? It wasn't my engagement, the scars just grows Such a slave and a sucker for observation Just let it pass, no questions asked Decide and try to find, a step behind A shape that will assure you how The essence is defined, it takes no disguise Don't wanna see yourself in no trouble It comes to an end With my trust in hand Please let me stand With all my perception (perception) I let myself wait (let myself wait) From all the infection (infection) That comes in my way Like a swarm Under pressure, too many times I can barely fight it back No intentions, no obsessions That can change my mind Oh, it comes to an end With my trust in hand Please let me stand With all my perception (perception) I let myself wait (let myself wait) From all the infection (infection) That comes in my way This is my life and I'm still amazed I should have turned and walked all over This is my life and I've now prevailed And reached my goal This is my time 'cause it's all erased This is my time and I'm turning to you It makes me strive in a conscious way But not alone... Confusing directions were running my state From all the infection that comes in my way With all my perception I let myself wait

Quantum Mechanics Unable to see the details of an atom, physicists had to base their understanding of atomic structure solely on experimentation and indirect observation. This video segment, adapted from A Science Odyssey describes some of the thinking and theorizing that contributed to our present-day atomic model.

NASA | Ten Years of Global Fire Observations
NASA | Ten Years of Global Fire Observations
This visualization leads viewers on a narrated global tour of fire detections beginning in July 2002 and ending July 2011. The visualization also includes vegetation and snow cover data to show how fires respond to seasonal changes. The tour begins in Australia in 2002 by showing a network of massive grassland fires spreading across interior Australia as well as the greener Eucalyptus forests in the northern and eastern part of the continent. The tour then shifts to Asia where large numbers of agricultural fires are visible first in China in June 2004, then across a huge swath of Europe and western Russia in August, and then across India and Southeast Asia through the early part of 2005. It moves next to Africa, the continent that has more abundant burning than any other. MODIS observations have shown that some 70 percent of the world's fires occur in Africa alone. In what's a fairly average burning season, the visualization shows a huge outbreak of savanna fires during the dry season in Central Africa in July, August, and September of 2006, driven mainly by agricultural activities but also by the fact that the region experiences more lightning than anywhere else in the world. The tour shifts next to South America where a steady flickering of fire is visible across much of the Amazon rainforest with peaks of activity in September and November of 2009. Almost all of the fires in the Amazon are the direct result of human activity, including slash-and-burn agriculture ...
