Frank ZAPPA's 200 Motels (Full Film)
"Touring makes you crazy," Frank Zappa says, explaining that the idea for this film came to him while the Mothers of Invention were touring. The story, interspersed with performances by the Mothers and the Royal Symphony Orchestra, is a tale of life on the road. The band members' main concerns are the search for groupies and the desire to get paid.

Frank Zappa Mothers Of Invention - Mystery Roach / Magic Fingers [1971 200 Motels OST]
Uploaded by Rich at aftersabbath.blogspot.com the blog for 60s-70s heavy. 200 Motels is a 1971 American-British musical surrealist film cowritten and directed by Frank Zappa and Tony Palmer and starring The Mothers of Invention, Theodore Bikel and Ringo Starr.[1] The film covers a loose storyline about The Mothers of Invention going crazy in the small town Centerville.[1] A soundtrack album was released in the same year. The film deals loosely with life on the road as a rock musician.[2] The Mothers of Invention go crazy in the small town Centerville, and bassist Jeff quits the group, as did his real life counterpart, Jeff Simmons, who left the group before the film began shooting and was replaced by actor Martin Lickert for the film.[1] The style of the film has been compared to a "surrealistic documentary". In 1970, Frank Zappa formed a new version of The Mothers of Invention which included British drummer Aynsley Dunbar, jazz keyboardist George Duke, Ian Underwood, Jeff Simmons (bass, rhythm guitar), and three members of The Turtles bass player Jim Pons, and singers Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan, who, due to persistent legal and contractual problems, adopted the stage name "The Phlorescent Leech and Eddie", or "Flo & Eddie". Zappa began writing a film for his new lineup called 200 Motels, and the band debuted on Zappa's next solo album Chunga's Revenge (1970), Which was produced as a preview of the film. Zappa also met conductor Zubin Mehta. They arranged a May 1970 ...

The Penismobile from 200 Motels
www.earpoke.com This is a deleted scene from Frank Zappa's 200 Motels. It takes place on the streets of Centerville, while Howie is trying to get a groupie (played by Mark Volman) back to his cheesy motel room to the tune of 'Do You Like My New Car.' This scene contains the only footage of the first trial run of Cal Schenkel's PENIS MOBILE. For some odd reason this scene never made it into the final version of the film. This clip comes from the out of print documentary The True Story of 200 Motels.

ADGP RD2 - Calderpark Raceway - 2012
Fantastic weekend down in Melbourne, travelled down with a couple of cars from the Hit and Run crew, 11 hours of Happy hardcore thanks to Brett Reaper Reid!
Crashed on the floor at a Motel in the outskirts of melb, 15 mins from the track, but apparently it was the 'hood' and hella dodgy there ;/ I thought it was quite nice.
Two days of flawless competing, up super bright and early, plenty of practise time, Jwaz spins some bearings (Which later turns into a 'On the jack stands' bottom end rebuild!) head into qualifying, Brett running super camber, super low, and crazy offset wheels finds out that 35 profile tires grab errverywherr, and qualifies like 27th out of 32..
Plenty of action from everybody, especially Hayden, Simon and Khuda's brother, a perfect first day!
Come night time, the Warrens + Mr Kansia Giant get about 80% through the rebuild, and decide we should hit the town and get on it... Local pub, birthdays everywhere, getting sloshy on jugs of beer.. Mitch making a fool of himself.
Another super early rise, another day full of great weather (except the afternoon, shitty rain and cold winds)
The boys get into finishing the rebuild, as soon as it touches the ground, topped up with oil and push started, Yoshi demands the Sileighty to the front of the line for a 2nd chance qualify, launching off the line, and a couple of clutch kicks 3/4 through the course and "BANG!!" 3rd's rod gets exploded outside of the block :(
Plenty more of super tight battles, some were poorly judged and some people should not have gone through, but water under a bridge, Day ends with the rain coming over, just enough to wet the track.
Fink VS Rob Whyte for 1st and 2nd and Nick VS Danny W for 3rd and 4th.
Nicks Ute with no weight in the tray made it hard to put the V8s power down, and comes in at 4th.
While the continuous re-runs between fink and rob, fink made a wee mistake that cost him his 2nd place!
Congrats to Rob for the 1st, well deserved placing!

Danny W 3rd

Brett 30th - Brett loves to 'hit' walls.
Big thanks to Brett, biggie, Scott Warren, Josh Warren, Jono, Mitch for making the weekend great.
Shout out to all the drivers for putting on a great show, and another shout to all the media boys!

Aynsley Dunbar - Magic Fingers (The Mothers of Invention)
The rock drumming GIANT turned down both Jimmy Page's offer to form Led Zeppelin and Robert Fripp's to start King Crimson from out of the ashes of Giles, Giles & Fripp; quit the original Jeff Beck Group lineup over Jeff's notorious career-casualness (Dunbar wanted to play nightly, not monthly); lost Hendrix's coin flip to Mitch Mitchell to be the Experience drummer (shame on you, Jimi) before being aggressively courted by Frank Zappa to play the most complex arrangements in rock. Later going on to drum monster David Bowie hits "Rebel Rebel" and "1984," Journey's "Lights" and "Wheel In The Sky," Jefferson Starship's "Jane," and Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again," among many, many others, his studio credits are enough for ten healthy men. Never one to substitute sensitivity toward and understanding of the composition and being in the musical moment for mere rudiments-mastery, he builds every number thru tension and dynamics--the fruits of all the woodshedding saved for when it'll count the most...musically!
