Marco Simoncelli Death At Malaysia Sepang 2011 RIP TRIBUTE VIDEO
Marco Simoncelli (20 January 1987 -- 23 October 2011) was an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. A top rider of the Italian Minimoto Championship from 1996 to 2000, Marco Simoncelli moved to 125cc bikes after taking two consecutive titles in the aforementioned discipline. After a promising first season in the 125 Honda Trophy, Simoncelli took the European 125cc title in 2002 and had a first taste of Grand Prix racing the same year. In 2003 he undertook his first full season in the World Championship with the Matteoni Racing team. A consistent point-scorer in his rookie season, he moved to the Rauch Bravo team in 2004 and scored his first Grand Prix win at a rain-soaked Jerez, but could only manage an eleventh placed finish overall. Another 125cc campaign in 2005, with the Nocable.it Race team, was completed with an improvement in the final standings in fifth place, giving Simoncelli the opportunity to leap into the quarter-litre category. A steady season saw the Italian achieve 10th position in the championship representing Metis Gilera, with whom he continued in 2007 and 2008. In 2008 Simoncelli achieved his first race victories in the 250cc class, his maiden triumph coming at his home race in Mugello, and was involved in some breathtaking battles with his rivals over the course of the year. Emerging as the standout rider in the class, Gilera provided their newest star with a top-of-the-range RSA machine for the final races of the season. The Italian secured his ...

Automaticans - Audrey (from split 7" with Team Dresch - Mental Monkey Records 2000)
Automaticans - Audrey. If ever there was a hard recording to find - it's this one. Only appearing on a limited split 7" single with Team Dresch in 2000, it took me ages to track down a copy of this song in any format anywhere, but I persisted and finally recently came across an mp3 of it somewhere online. The wait was worth it - another gem from the pen of singer Tamala Poljak, formerly of LA based queercore indie pop band Longstocking. Automaticans were an LA "supergroup" of sorts. Singer/guitarist Poljak had performed in the previously mentioned Longstocking (as well as Oiler and Fleabag to name a few); Guitarist/vocalist Patricia was also in the band Patsy and bassist Toast performed in The Ray-O-Vacs, The Neptunas and The Paper Tulips as well as booking bands at legendary downtown LA rock dive Al's Bar. Sadly, "Audrey" was the only official release from the band, as the band seemingly dissipated shortly after it's release in 2000. Half of the band (Poljak and drummer Scottie) would go on to perform with another supergroup The Infinite X's which also featured members of Team Dresch and The Little Deaths. The Infinite X's released an excellent self-titled debut album in 2002 on Chainsaw Records. Fun fact: The subject of the song "Audrey" is reported to be none other than Audrey Marrs, former lead singer of the Olympia based band Mocket and now Academy Award nominated producer of the film No End in Sight, a documentary about the American occupation of Iraq. Blue Scholars - Joe Metro [HD]
From 2007 EP: "Joe Metro"..... Video Directed By: Zia Mohajerjasbi and Marty Martin Blue Scholars Site: bluescholars.com Get Blue Scholars Music: www.amazon.com & itunes.apple.com Blue Scholars is a hip hop duo based in Seattle, Washington. The duo was created in 2002 while the members, Geologic and Sabzi, were a part of The SHOW (Student Hip Hop Organization of Washington) at the University of Washington (Seattle). The group consists of one DJ, Sabzi (Saba Mohajerjasbi) and one MC, Geologic (George Quibuyen). The name "Blue Scholars" is a play on the term "blue collar," which is an idiom for workers who often earn hourly wages for manual labor. Their music and lyrics often focus on struggles between socioeconomic classes, challenging authority and youth empowerment, as evidenced in the songs "Blink" and "Commencement Day." These themes are often specifically addressed in relation to the Seattle region, as in "Southside Revival", "North by Northwest", and "The Ave." The duo has performed across the United States and made appearances at the Sasquatch! Music Festival in 2005, 2006 and 2008, and Bumbershoot opening for Kanye West in 2006. They have opened for and shared stages with such artists as De La Soul, Slick Rick, Wordsworth, Kanye West, Hieroglyphics, Immortal Technique, The Coup and Masta Ace. Shadowy Spy Group Building Dossiers On Internet Users For Feds Project Vigilant: New Face of Total Information Awareness Goes Public Paul Joseph Watson www.infowars.com Monday, August 2, 2010 An organization that tracks 250 million IP addresses a day has been developing portfolios on Internet users and handing the information to US federal agencies as the latest incarnation of the supposedly defunct Total Information Awareness spy program is revealed. A group calling itself Project Vigilant went public at yesterday's Defcon security conference in an effort to add more recruits to its 600 member strong cyber spy force. The outfit announced that it had been tracking "Internet villains" for no less than 14 years and handing the information to federal authorities as part of a massive intelligence gathering program. However, the target of one such investigation did not fall into the category of cyber criminals -- "terrorists, drug cartels, mobsters" -- that the group claims to be fighting. The organization "encouraged one of its "volunteers", researcher Adrian Lamo, to inform the federal government about the alleged source of a controversial video of civilian deaths in Iraq leaked to whistle-blower site Wikileaks in April," reports Forbes. Project Vigilant director Chet Uber used Lamo's friendship with Bradley Manning, the former US Army intelligence analyst who allegedly released the classified video, to out Manning, who now faces criminal charges. Authors@Google: Mark Danner
For the past two decades, Mark Danner has reported from Latin America, Haiti, the Balkans, and the Middle East. His perceptive, award-winning dispatches have not only explored the real consequences of American engagement with the world, but also the relationship between political violence and power. In Stripping Bare the Body, Danner brings together his best reporting from the worlds most troubled regions—from the fall of the Duvalier dictatorship in Haiti to the tumultuous rise of Aristide; from the onset of the Balkan Wars to the painful fragmentation of Yugoslavia; and finally to the disastrous invasion of Iraq and the radical, destructive legacy of the Bush administration. At a time when American imperial power is in decline, there has never been a more compelling moment to read these urgent, fiercely intelligent reports. Mark Danner will focus his talk on torture and where we are when it comes to extreme interrogation with the Obama Administration: why we haven't escaped Bush's "state of exception."

9. Biomolecular Engineering: Engineering of Immunity
Frontiers of Biomedical Engineering (BENG 100) Professor Saltzman talks about the importance of vaccines, and particularly the role of bioengineering in vaccine development. He first addresses the question of "what is a vaccine" and the role of the immune system. He then describes the biological basis, symptoms, and history of smallpox as a devastating disease worldwide, and how--starting with the work of Edward Jenner--an effective vaccine was systematically developed from cow lesions. Next, methods to deliver vaccine to a wide population are introduced. Finally, Professor Saltzman touches on the possible reemergence of smallpox as weapon for bioterrorism. 00:00 - Chapter 1.
