Michael Joseph Brady (April 15, 1887 – December 3, 1972) was an American professional golfer. He was born in Brighton, Massachusetts. He lost in a three-way playoff to John McDermott in the 1911 U.S. Open. He lost to Walter Hagen in a celebrated playoff in the 1919 U.S. Open at the Brae Burn Country Club. Hagen promptly resigned his club pro job after winning in 1919 and Oakland Hills Country Club promptly hired Brady. Brady subsequently won the 1922 Western Open at Oakland Hills. He died in Florida at the age of 85.

Winged Foot G.C. member Tommy Armour won the 1927 U.S. Open, 1930 PGA Championship, and the 1931 British Open.
Claude Harmon was the head professional at Winged Foot G.C. when he won the 1948 Masters Tournament and collected a first place check for $2,500. He was the last club professional to win a major golf tournament. Previously, Winged Foot G.C. head professional Craig Wood won the 1941 Masters Tournament and U.S. Open, the first time any golfer won those two titles in the same year.
Ogilvy's 2006 winning score and Irwin's in 1974 represent two of the highest major championship 72-hole scores in the modern era of golf. Julius Boros' 9-over-par winning score of 293 in the 1963 U.S. Open represents both the highest aggregate score and highest score in relation to par during this era.
