This is a montage of promos for various childrens' programming that aired on WPWR-TV (Channel 50) in late 1987 (some definitely from November 10, 1987). The programs featured are as follows: Silver Spoons, Dinosaucers, The Jetsons, Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera (which encompassed Yogi's Treasure Hunt, Sky Commanders and Snorks), Adventures of the Lollipop Dragon, Hulk Hogan's All-Time Champ, Betty Boop and Friends, Josie and the Pussycats, and Popeye.
Who remembers these TV classic show reruns that were once broadcasted on WGN-TV Channel 9, WFLD-TV Channel 32, WSNS-TV Channel 44, WPWR-TV Channel 60 (not 50) and WGBO-TV Channel 66? Enjoy watching the ads. www.chicagosextinctbusinesses.com
Here is the opening on WPWR Channel 60 to the standard television's alternative to MTV - MV-3. Starring David Maples & Karen Scott. "Featuring" Richard Blade. Includes a rare early animated WPWR Station ID at the beginning. Also, a WLS AM 89 & FM 95 Sponsorship slide. (I lightened up the picture a bit as it was too dark) This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, June 17th 1983. Here's a neat promotional video made for WPWR Channel 60. Not sure how this was used or where it was shown, but it seems pretty clear that it wasn't used on-air. Includes scenes from their movie and TV show lineup, as well as a WLS news piece on the station. (edited out since it can be seen in it's entirety here) Narrated by Neal Sabin, Channel 60 Program Director and voiceover savant. This seems like it was produced in the Summer of 1984. Regalos Musicales (false-start beginning) WBBS-TV Canal 60 promotional video (can anyone translate?) i'm waiting for you say to say 'i know you better than you think'. but did i plan for this to happen? i claimed i could hold you closer than, know you better than anyone. will you wait for me? if you tore me away from all of this it would not make a difference to me. i'm not saying that i wouldn't miss everyone and everything. its not happening. so don't give me that look. i can see it in your eyes and i know what you're going to say. i'm waiting for you to say 'i know you better than you think'. but did i plan for this to happen? i claimed i could hold you closer than, know you better than anyone. i'll close my eyes and make this wish. nothing that a falling star could do. cross my fingers. walk by winter. hope by summer it comes true. its not happening. so don't give me that look. i can see it in your eyes and i know what you're going to say. 'don't give me that look'. but would you say that i should wait? don't blame me: blame yourself, if you don't want me around. no, i don't want you. no, i don't need you. if these are the last words you say, please forgive me for going away. i guess i was wrong to think that something good could last. board it up, put it up on the shelf with everything else in my past. it won't last. just say what you want me to do. i'll come back and be right there in front of you. just say if you want me or not. if you don't you can just shut the power off
