or check out what UK Rockers were listening to back then.
NOTE: I Love The Fact That WE at HRC CAN Give TWO Perspectives on Rock Music! From The U.S. and the U.K.
I, Personally, Never heard the Friday Rock Shows That smoker & others heard, except for NOW in these Awesome Recordings - I DID have a great Rock Station in S.C. (Z96) + a Cool College Station (University Of South Carolina) to Listen to...Rocket

Face Like An Angel...
Here's a Band I'd Heard Of, BUT Never Heard!
They fall Squarely in the Category of AOR - Along the lines of Giuffria... In Fact It's Rumored That Gregg Had a Hand in Producing Some Of Their Music Including These 3rd Album Demos, Which are Unreleased!
You Can Get To Their Website By CLICKin' The Photo Below:
On Their Web Pages You Can Learn About Their Past:
During the heyday of early 80's "Hollywood Hair Metal", there was a core group of bands destined to become the next big rock and roll heavyweights. Mötley Crüe, Ratt, and Great White, you probably already are familiar with... but there was another group. One that some of these bands even opened for a few times.
That group was ... WHITE SISTER
Internal problems and fate would eventually tear the band apart shortly after they were signed by EMI America in 1984. Despite it all, White Sister managed to attain a legendary cult status that has not faded to this day.

Down For The Count...
This is a Great FM Radio Broadcast Recording from the King Biscuit Flower Hour - Live from The Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio!
It's Franke & The Knockouts (Pre-"the Hitman" Tico Torres {Bon Jovi}) I Believe He Joined The Following Year...
They Were a Pop/Rock Outfit:
From http://www.frankeandtheknockouts.com/
Franke Previte was born in New Brunswick, N.J.
In the early ‘80s, Franke decided to combine his rock and R&B roots for some blue-eyed soul-style rock ‘n’ roll, and started Franke & the Knockouts. The band was signed to Millenium Records (RCA), and its first hit single, SWEETHEART, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1981. YOU’RE MY GIRL and WITHOUT YOU (NOT ANOTHER LONELY NIGHT) quickly followed, topping the charts at #14 and #16 respectively.
When the president of the label, Jimmy Ienner, decided to close his label in 1985, Franke & the Knockout were sold to MCA, which released the band’s third and final album, Makin the Point.
Late in 1986, Franke was contacted by the same Jimmy Ienner to write a song for a little movie called DIRTY DANCING, and so the song (I’VE HAD) THE TIME OF MY LIFE was written. Franke’s other DIRTY DANCING hit, HUNGRY EYES, originally had been on Previte's demo reel as a new Franke & the Knockouts track while he was shopping for a new record deal for the band. “Hungry Eyes” found its home in DIRTY DANCING, and became Franke’s second smash hit for the film. The song “(I've) Had The Time Of My Life” earned Previte an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Grammy nomination."Short, But Great, Set of Power Pop Goodness!

Things Are Tough All Over...Like 1932!
Everyone Remember the Movie: Eddie and the Cruisers...
From IMdb:
"Maggie Foley is a reporter who's interviewing the surviving members of a rock band whose music is being revived. Memories of the band's leader Eddie Wilson are being relived as Frank Ridgeway is reunited with the old members of the band. As the memories are relived on the screen, it becomes clear that someone is looking for the lost unpublished tapes of the band's final recording and that someone might be Eddie! "
Well, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band Supplied the Music, Playing the part of the mysterious rock band in the flick...
On The Dark Side was a Big Radio Hit For Them...(always reminded me of Springsteen...)
So, IF you like your Rock & Roll With That Heartland-Working-Class-Small-Town-Bar-Band Sound (Sax and All!) Like "The Boss" and Southside Johnny, The Michael Stanley Band, Then, These Guys are for YOU!

The Digital Age...
Feelgood sent this one in to HRC recently...
Another Great Rose Tattoo, IF You Don't Have It - Grab It NOW!
This Show "Commodore 78" reminded me of How Far we've Come in the Computer Dept.
Instantly it reminded me of the old Commodore 64 - With a Whopping 64 KB Memory..."Who would ever need more?"
And Did You KNOW: They Are Still In Business with a NEW "Old" Model?
NOT sure about this computer mag? What it is They were Tryin' to Get Across OR Just Sell Some Mags Based on the Front Cover?

Check that setlist out! DAMN!

More Y & T sent in by my and your good friend...Buckeye.Of course he's going to tell you a bit about it right now."Great soundboard from the mighty Y&T!
Not the classic line-up, but the Menneniketi/Kennemore/DeGrasso/Burns line-up. They still kick ass,
even though it's in a smaller venue (where, I don't know).
All I know it's from San RaFael, CA 3-8-98,
touring behind the Endangered Species disc."
Another Rockin' Y & T show to add to your collections! Thanks Buck!

Lights Out In Fresno...
Here's a nice UFO show sent in by Buckeye. This is what he has to say about it.
"Haven't seen alot of UFO boots pop up around HRC lately, so here's one from Fresno, CA 4/15/80.Either a crappy FM recording (you know, like on one of those cheapo recorders -w- a cheapo tape) or a really good audience recording (using good equipment with a good tape). Nice sound either way, so enjoy this gem of a show from the No Where To Run tour."
Thanks Buck!

Hometown Heroes...
Well last night was a trip out to see Nazareth play a charity gig in their hometown.Dunfermline,Scotland.We had to travel over the water and into enemy territory.(It's a football thing) if you're into football.
Me,Brian & Beastie officially known as "The Rock Club".Also Beastie's mate Big Dave (guitar and getting trucks stuck under bridges) along with Brian's son, up and coming Rock vocalist,Young Scott.
So off we headed to see Scotland's best and most legendary Rock Band about 30 mins from home,so that was cool.
This is a Hear Rock City exclusive as this is my recording of the show.
It's for all the Naz fans here and for anybody who's into quality Rock music.
I'm happy with the recording I think it turned out great.I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Finally had the settings set correctly.(you should always read the manual!!)
This will not be posted anywhere else so if somebody takes it and posts it on another site give us a namecheck.
This is the mp3 version I will post it in flac later in the week.
Enjoy and Keep Rockin'!!

Chatbox
As you know we have gotten some nasty comments on the chatbox.
We have an idea of who it is.
The person or persons are well known for this type of thing.
They go from site to site annoying people and winding them up.
Any sites they have been a part of have contained nothing but drama.
They've also been booted from numerous sites. The best thing to do is just ignore it and don't reply
until Rocket can boot them from chat or disable it for a while.
There is no need for anybody to leave the site because of this.
We all love HRC and nobody is going to spoil it for us.
The music will continue...Keep Rockin'

Classic Album
Another classic album another BBC radio 6 broadcast.
Hear the story of this album as told by Tom himself.
Record company troubles, courtroom dramas all add up to help make this a great album.
If anybody has the chance seek out the "Running Down A Dream" film by Peter Bogdanovich. One of the greatest music doc's ever made.

Eric And Albert...
Tape Rip.
BBC Radio 1 Broadcast.
Eric Clapton & orchestra live at The Royal Albert Hall back in 1990.
This was the last show of his series of gigs there.
Listening to this it's missing the second part of the show.Which was a couple of specially written pieces for guitar and orchestra.
Anyway...what is here is rather fine.
Clapton playing perfectly as usual and nicely augmented by the orchestra.
I know a few bands have done the orchestral thing now but I guess it was pretty new back then?
Thanks to Kevin for the tape.

Here's a nice radio broadcast from BBC 6 music Classic Album series.
Led Zeppelin IV,4,Runes,Four Symbols or whatever you call it.
Jimmy Page in conversation about the making of the album.
Hear the inside story, right here.
Certainly Zep's best album.
At least to me, it's the one I go back to regularly.

Here's an old tape of mine.
Bought at an old record/tape fair, back when you could spend hours looking through the stuff. And you never did quite have enough money to buy all you wanted.
As we know it's a lot easier to get all the boots and rarities you missed back then.
How times have changed.

Open Fire...
Here's one Buckeye sent in and this is what he had to say about it,
"Excellent sounding double set from Y&T kicking ass at the TT Festival (I believe), June 24, 2009. It's an audience recording but it's EXCELLENT sounding! The band touch on damn near every disc they've ever done, including Down For The Count and Ten. Did I mention this was excellent sounding?"
He's right, this is one of those powerful audience recordings you don't come across too often.
Dave's feeling a little under the weather at this show. You wouldn't know it tho' as he still Rocks to the max!
Thanks to whoever recorded and shared this one,it's great. Thanks Buck.
