Edward Evan Duncan "Eddy" Howard (September 12, 1914 – May 23, 1963) was an American vocalist and bandleader who was popular during the 1940s and 1950s.
Eddy Howard was born in Woodland, California, and after attending San Jose State College from 1931 to 1933, studied medicine at Stanford University before dropping out to become a singer of romantic ballads on Los Angeles radio. Later he sang with bands led by Ben Bernie and Dick Jurgens. His hits with Jurgens included "My Last Goodbye" and "Careless," which became his theme.
In 1939 Howard started his own band, and he was the regular vocalist on It Can Be Done, Edgar A. Guest's 1941 radio program on the Blue Network Wednesdays through Fridays. The first #1 single for Eddy Howard and his Orchestra, "To Each His Own", spent five non-consecutive weeks at the top of the U.S. pop chart in 1946. The song was a tie-in with the 1946 Paramount film, To Each His Own, which brought Academy Awards for Olivia de Havilland and screenwriter Charles Brackett. The recording by Howard was released by Majestic Records as catalog number 7188 and 1070. It first reached the Billboard chart on July 11, 1946 and spent a total of nineteen weeks on the chart. The recording sold over two million copies by 1957, and was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA.
Howard is a popular English given name originating from Old Norse Hávarðr, which means "high guard". A diminutive is "Howie" and its shortened form is "Ward" (most common in the 19th century). Between 1900-1960, Howard ranked in the U.S. Top 200; between 1960–1990, it ranked in the U.S. Top 400; between 1990–2004, it ranked in the U.S. Top 600. I WONDER, I WONDER, I WONDER ~ Eddy Howard & his Orchestra (1946) Majestic Records. Just a note : Three years ago, at a car swap meet in Stockton, Ca., I ran into the grandson of the composer of I WONDER, I WONDER, I WONDER, Daryl Hutchins. His grandson had a stand at the swap meet, in fact, I bought an old 1940's , original, pin-up doll calender from him that day. He mentioned his grandfather and the song and "naturally"... I knew the song very well. Anyhow, he didn't have a copy of record, which blew my mind, in fact, he'd never seen an actual copy of it. After buying the calender, I told him that I'd send him one of my copies, but then I lost the guy's address a short while later. Oh well, I'm not entirely perfect, but hell, I'm working on it.

Eddie Howard, Jr. One of the most exciting Gospel organists on the planet to not only hear but to see play. On September 5, 2005 at the Hammond Organ Center there was a very special get together of Eddie, John Peters, P. J. Morgan, Clay Bogan III, Papa John DeFrancesco and Joey DeFrancesco. During a break before setting up a second video camera Eddie just sat down and started to play. WOW! Watch the background and seeing the reaction of all the other organist that were there. This was a VERY special moment. BTW - Eddie is a Diversi Artist.

The second of three releases by the GRP All-Star Big Band (headed by Dave Grusin) has lots of exciting moments, including "Manteca," "Blue Train," and a version of "Cherokee" that has tradeoffs by trumpeters Arturo Sandoval, Randy Brecker, Byron Stripling, and Chuck Findley. The band performs eight jazz standards plus Grusin's "Blues for Howard." Also among the highlights are the playing of Brecker and Eric Marienthal on "My Man's Gone Now," the teaming of clarinetist Eddie Daniels and vibraphonist Gary Burton on "Sing, Sing, Sing," and the interplay between pianists Grusin and Russell Ferrante on "'S Wonderful." ~ Scott Yanow Recorded live at Gotanda Kan-i Hoken Hall, Tokyo, Japan on January 31, 1993. Flo & Eddie (Mark Volman, Flo aka Phlorescent Leech, and Howard Kaylan, Eddie) are a comedic musical duo. The Phlorescent Leech and Eddie is the first album from Flo & Eddie, released in 1972. The two were the original founding members of the Top 40 rock group The Turtles. After the Turtles dissolved, Volman and Kaylan first joined The Mothers of Invention as Phlorescent Leech & Eddie. Due to contractual restrictions made early in their career, Mark and Howard were prevented from using the name The Turtles, as well as their own names in a musical context. The Phlorescent Leech and Eddie were originally nicknames of two of the Mothers of Invention road crew that the pair appropriated. 00:00 "Flo & Eddie Theme" 0:57 00:57 "Thoughts Have Turned" 3:07 04:04 "It Never Happened" 2:07 06:11 "Bu...

Sin (It's No Sin) (Shull-Haven) by Eddy Howard & his Orchestra, with chorus (CD audio source) Though the song tends today to be more closely identified with its originators the Four Aces, it was this more fully-produced version by a then-more-familiar artist that was the more successful record in 1951. Eddy's "Sin" reached #1 on Billboard's sales, juke box, and (for 8 weeks) radio airplay charts. Like the Aces original on the Victoria label, the Howard version was first released with the song title shown simply as "Sin," but before long most issues of the tune were changed to "(It's No) Sin" or "Sin (It's No Sin)."
