The Palouse, Heartland of the Inland Northwest
This is a video that has been 4 years in the making! I got the idea for this in August of 2006 when I was taking a hike up sunshine hill with my i-pod. The Palouse region of eastern Washington and northwestern Idaho is a rich heartland, growing many acres of wheat, barley, peas, lentils, chickpeas, canola, and other crops. I live in the middle of the Palouse, in Moscow ID and am always amazed by the year round beauty this region has to offer. Why did this video take 4 years to make you ask? Well, that's how long it took me to take photos of the right subjects in the right locations to go with specific lyrics in the song. Enjoy! Lyrics: See the sun rise over her skin Don't change it See the sun rise over her skin Dawn changes everything, everything And the delta sun Burns bright and violet Mississippi and the cotton wool heat Sixty-six a highway speaks Of deserts dry Of cool green valleys Gold and silver mines Of the shining cities In this heartland In this heartland soil In this heartland Heaven knows this is a heartland Heartland See the sun rise over her skin She feels like water in my hand Freeway like a river cuts through this land Into the side of love Like a burning spear And the poison rain Brings a flood of fear Through the ghost-ranch hills Death valley waters In the towers of steel Belief goes on and on In this heartland In this heartland soil In this heartland Heaven knows this is a heartland Heartland Heaven knows this is a heartland Heartland, heartland ...

Wheat Harvest in Palouse Country - Tucker Farms
The two machines running are IH Hillside Combines. The white top is a 1470 and the red top is a 1670. The Palouse region is located in Southeast Washington State, and Northwestern Idaho. It is famous for its scenic rolling dunes of bottomless topsoil; and of course, the worlds best dry land wheat.

Palouse Falls State Park in Washington!
In the southeast corner of the state of Washington is the Palouse Falls State Park. Abit south of I-90 from Ritzville and abit north of Walla Walla. This is off of route 261, I took Highway 12 from Clarkston. Folks you enjoy the place as I share it with you. There is a campground for tent campers, picnic area and a beautiful overlook of the falls and the walls of the river head south toward the snake river where you can look for miles. RV units may visit, yet space for these are not really available. Washington has a state parks online sight. www.parks.wa.gov
