The Wire is an American crime drama television series set and produced in and around Baltimore, Maryland. Created and primarily written by author and former police reporter David Simon, the series was broadcast by the cable network HBO in the United States. The Wire premiered on June 2, 2002, and ended on March 9, 2008, comprising 60 episodes over five seasons.
Each season of The Wire introduces a different institution in the city of Baltimore and its relationship to law enforcement, while retaining characters and advancing storylines from previous seasons. In chronological order these institutions are: the illegal drug trade, the seaport system, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media. The large cast consists mainly of character actors who are little known for their other roles, as well as numerous real-life Baltimore and Maryland figures in guest and recurring roles. Simon has said that despite its framing as a crime drama, the show is "really about the American city, and about how we live together. It's about how institutions have an effect on individuals. Whether one is a cop, a longshoreman, a drug dealer, a politician, a judge or a lawyer, all are ultimately compromised and must contend with whatever institution to which they are committed."
The 15th is a song from the 1979 album 154 by the English rock band Wire. It was written by Colin Newman.
The British electronic band Ladytron included "The 15th" on the mix compilation Softcore Jukebox.
The electroclash band Fischerspooner covered "The 15th" as the second single from its 2001 debut album #1.
The Jay Reatard project Angry Angles covered the song on their Apparent-Transparent 7". Additionally, Beck has played the song live a couple of times. French coldwave band Little Nemo covered the song on their 1990 EP "Cadavres Exquis". For the Wire tribute album Whore, the song was recorded by Mike Watt. Monks of Doom covered the song on their 2006 album, "What's Left For Kicks?". Also Australian psichedelic-garage Band "Splashh" covered the song in 2014.
Didn't see the studio version anywhere, so here it is.

Reviewed, it seemed
As if someone were watching over it
Before it was
As if response were based on fact
Providing, deciding, it was soon there
Squared to it, faced to it, it was not there
Renewed, it fought
As if it had a cause to live for
Denied, it learned
As if it had sooner been destroyed

Squared to it, faced to it, it was not there
Reviewed, it fought
As if someone were watching over it
Before it had sooner been denied
Renewed, it seemed
As if it had a cause to live for
