LEAD IN :
Lebanon was expecting more than 1.6 million tourists in the summer of 2006, before the war between
Israel and
Hezbollah erupted on July 12.
As war gripped the country, thousands of tourists and residents fled and many others cancelled their holiday plans.
A year later Lebanon is once again plagued by violence between the Lebanese army and
Fatah Islam militants.
