The City of Houston does not allow tents so occupiers sleep on the ground without shelter. Adopt-A-Voice, the work of local activist T.C. Smythe, offers an easy way in which the occupation may continue throughout the winter. For a $200 donation, Adopt-A-Voice will supply an occupier with a sleeping bag, blanket, air mattress, winter jacket, and many other necessities as well as a 50 gallon bin to store it all in. The full accounting of each item is listed on the Adopt-A-Voice website. All the time taken to gather and deliver is donated; 100% of an Adopt-A-Voice donations goes directly to the cause.

Occupy Houston also has a list of needed items to fit any budget on their website: http://occupyhouston.org/contribute/
