"The Logical Song" (Supertramp) written and composed by Roger Hodgson
Roger Hodgson, co-founder of Supertramp is currently on tour, visit www.RogerHodgson.com for his latest tour schedule or go to www.RogerHodgsonstore.com to pick up his latest album. This video is a slideshow that I put together after hearing the song for the first time on the radio. It struck a chord in me and I wanted to put images to the lyrics that complimented the feelings that I personally took away from hearing it. The sequence is sort of my own travels and revelations, independent from representing Mr. Hodgson and Supertramp. But, I hope that the general idea and message of trying to walk the path of self discovery is on point. Lyrics: When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful, a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical. And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily, joyfully, playfully watching me. But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible, logical, responsible, practical. And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable, clinical, intellectual, cynical. There are times when all the world's asleep, the questions run too deep for such a simple man. Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned I know it sounds absurd but please tell me who I am. Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical, liberal, fanatical, criminal. Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're acceptable, respecable, presentable, a vegtable! At night, when all the world's asleep, the questions run so deep for ...

More Kayak Music Videos Here: www.youtube.com/vancouverkayaker :-) Roger Hodgson's Breakfast in America Tour is Headed Your Way! Roger Hodgson South America 2012 Tour www.rogerhodgson.com "Fools Overture" is the closing track from Supertramp's 1977 album Even in the Quietest Moments. Written and song by guitarist, keyboard player, singer and songwriter Roger Hodgson, the song tells about World War II England and the lessons learned from it. The song, which is over 10 minutes long, is a collage of progressive instrumentation and sound samples. First there are excerpts of Winston Churchill's famous June 4, 1940 House of Commons speech regarding England's involvement in World War II ("Never Surrender"), and later sounds of police cars and church bells are heard. The flageolet-sounding instrument plays an excerpt from Gustav Holst's "Venus", from his orchestral suite The Planets. There is also a reading of the first verse of William Blake's poem "And did those feet in ancient time" (more commonly known as "Jerusalem"), ended by a very short sample of the band's song "Dreamer". Its writing credits are given to Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson,Although Roger and Rick shared joint writer credit throughout their years together with Supertramp, they actually wrote separately. It is easy to tell the composer of the songs as Roger sings all the songs he wrote, and Rick sings the songs he wrote. Fool's Overture Roger Hodgson w Orchestra
This is Roger Hodgson with an orchestra France 2004 Night of the Proms. Former Supertramp lead singer and cofounder Roger wrote and composed this song by himself. He has talked about how when he composed it he always saw it being played with an orchestra. So, seeing it with an orchestra we are seeing it the way the composer originally intended it. Supertramp Breakfast in America without composer, singer Roger Hodgson
This is Breakfast in America performed by Supertramp without Roger Hodgson. Roger is the actual writer and composer of this song. Roger wrote this song on his own and later recorded it with Supertramp. Rick and Roger wrote separately and basically the songs on the albums that Roger sings are Rogers songs and the songs Rick sings are Ricks songs. Roger sounds even better today. I feel he sings from his heart and soul and that touches me when I hear him sing. He has a way of sharing his music that I find profound and touching. Another artist who is similar is John Fogerty of Credence Clearwater Revival. I love to hear John sing his songs and there's no comparison for me when I hear the band Credence Clearwater Revisited sing John's songs. The bands Supertamp and Credence Clearwater Revisited just don't sound like the real deal. And many have commented you prefer hearing Roger sing his own songs and I would like to hear others thoughts on this. Please post you comments on this video. See Roger on his Breakfast in America Tour and experience for yourself the man who is the legendary voice of Supertramp, a master composer, artist, singer, songwriter of some of the most well know hits such as Give a Little Bit, Take the Long Way Home, Dreamer, The Logical Song and of course Breakfast in America. Roger also performs songs from his solo albums Open the Door and In the Eye of the Storm such as Only Because of You, In Jeopardy, Along Came Mary and many more. You can buy directly ...

Roger Hodgson - Take The Long Way Home (Take The Long Way Home)
For more info - www.eagle-rock.com Roger Hodgson is the voice of Supertramp. Co-founding the band in 1969, he was the lead singer and writer of nearly all their hits throughout the bands heyday in the seventies and early eighties. Since leaving Supertramp in 1983 he has had a series of critically acclaimed and successful solo albums and come through a major accident in the late eighties that threatened his entire career. A new Supertramp best of Retrospectacle was released in 2006 and has sold over 600000 copies in the UK alone. This DVD, the first live release from either Roger or Supertramp, was filmed in Montreal and catches Roger Hodgson at his very best.

Supertramp - Brother Where You Bound
One of the greatest songs by Supertramp, Brother Where You Bound showed that the band could survive without the great voice (and songwriting) of Roger Hodgson. It features the great David Gilmour and Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy fame. ---//--- This epic length track featured drummer Bob Siebenberg's then brother-in-law Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy on rhythm guitar. The searing guitar solos throughout the track and especially at the end were performed by Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour who used his own mixing system where he controlled every sound that went from his guitar onto the album. In a 2002 radio interview on Rockline, Davies explained how Gilmour got involved on the title cut: "I remember saying to the guys, 'We need to find somebody that can play a bit like Gilmour' for the guitar stuff, and I think it was someone at A&M - it might have been Jordan Harris or somebody, one of those guys - and he said, 'Well, I know David - maybe he would like to come over and do it,' and he sent him a demo and he decided he'd like to do it and he was very reasonable. Came over, brought all his gear and straight to the studio. It was a home studio, my studio, and we did it." From Wikipedia ---//--- I had to cut the little intro in order for this to fit on Youtube's 15min maximum duration. PS: I do not own this video, and I'm sorry it has been blocked in some countries by the copyright owner.

Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp from the album "Breakfast in America". The Stereo is a newly restored Grundig Majestic console SO 132 made in 1959. Unfortunately, the video Quality is very poor so it dosen't capture the rich bass this vintage vacuum tube stereo produces. If you would like to request a song please write a comment!

Even in the Quietest Moments Roger Hodgson
This hit song is the title track from Even in the Quietest Moments album composed and sung by Roger Hodgson singer, songwriter and cofounder of Supertramp. The songs Roger Hodgson sings that are often referred to as Supertramp songs are songs that Roger wrote and composed alone - that is how he creates music. He will often hear the musical composition first, then the lyrics come. Sometimes he will hear the whole song complete inside himself before he puts it down on paper and recording. So Supertramp as a band never wrote and composed together, there were only 2 songwriters for the band. The songs Roger sings lead vocals on are the ones he composed the music and lyrics for, and the songs Rick sings lead vocals on are the ones that he wrote. He is now on tour so you can catch this song live. For concert dates and locations go to Rogers website tour page at www.rogerhodgson.com Be sure to check out Roger's Classics Live now on Itunes: Classics Live at: itunes.apple.com Open the Door at: itunes.apple.com Here are some Great Articles to follow the tour - Reviews & Interviews - www.rogerhodgson.com Great links for more information: Facebook - www.facebook.com Twitter - twitter.com MySpace - www.myspace.com Roger's Official YouTube site - www.youtube.com Roger also performs songs from his Open the Door and In the Eye of the Storm albums like In Jeopardy, Lovers in the Wind, Only Because of You, The More I Look, Love is a 1000 Times and many more. No Inbetween - Supertramp
Enjoy ^^ So pardon me boys I'm gonna be late I don't have the choice I've got to get into shape It's eight on the nose And I gotta go So pass me my coat I've got to get to the show Ain't got no feeling Ain't got no pain Ain't got no reason To try again Don't need no finger To point at me Can't let it linger I must get free So send me away Cause I need a break What more can I say There's just so much I can take But don't be so sad I'm feeling alright It won't be so bad If I can get through tonight It seemed so simple Let's go out and have some fun Someone to play to We didn't know what we'd begun Then as things grew We really thought we had it made But soon we all knew That we'd be ending up like slaves The simple fact is There really ain't no inbetween You're either up there Or scurryin' round and lookin' lean And when you're up there They just can't wait to tear you down Just like a treadmill You find yourself goin' round and round So pardon me boys... So just one more time Yeah that is for sure And then I'll be fine Ah but I've said it before. No Inbetween belongs to Supertramp.
