Debbie Davies - Scratches - Live
Debbie Davies - Scratches - Live
Debbie Davies playing a great show in Pawling, NY. Bassist is Casandra Faulconer. Drummer is Don Castagno. This song was a part of one episode of the HBO show "True Blood". Growing up in Los Angeles in the 1960s, she found that being a female guitar player meant only one thing: acoustic guitar. Electric guitars were still toys meant only for boys. But when Debbie heard the sounds of the British blues-rock bands, particularly the electric guitar of Eric Clapton with John Mayalls Bluesbreakers, she became completely captivated. Going against the grains of societys accepted roles of the time, Debbie pursued her dream with the passion of an artist and the soul of a rebel. Davies cut her teeth playing in blues and rock n roll bands in the San Francisco Bay area before returning to Los Angeles in 1984, where she landed the lead guitar spot in Maggie Mayall and the Cadillacs, an all-female band led by wife of British blues pioneer, John Mayall. In 1988 she was recruited by Albert Collins to join the Icebreakers, and for the next three years she was a featured guitarist performing behind one of the most innovative bluesmen of all time. I stepped through a door into the real blues world when I joined Alberts band, Davies says. Its one thing to listen to the records and pull off the licks, or sit in the audience watching these artists play. But actually going out and touring with one, turned the blues into something completely three-dimensional for me. I knew then what a special ...

He has also been a guest vocalist for the Italian group Planet Funk. After releasing his breakthrough song "HYPNTZ", he signed to The releasing his first two singles -- "Alone" and "Yours" -- in 2008. The next year, he released his most commercially successful single to date, "Symphonies". Black was originally the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of alternative rock band The Servant. He was a member of the band from their conception in 1998 to their split in 2007. In 2008, Black released a solo single, "HYPNTZ". The song's lyrics were taken from rapper The Notorious BIG's "Hypnotize", while its instrumental sampled a cover of "Starman" by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Rihanna's "Umbrella". used. The single received positive reviews, with one critic commenting: "It achieves its magic formula in a manner that is both arbitrary and obvious, which is a part of its brilliance. The Umbrella break + Starman soundtrack + a beautiful melodic rendering of a gangsta rap staple: we know exactly what has been done here, and this is why it sounds so good". However, before a planned music video could be shot, The Notorious BIG's estate informed Black's team of their objection to the use of the "Hypnotize" lyrics. The "HYPNTZ" single was consequently taken out of circulation and the ...

In the late 80s in the Philadelphia region one group of musicians looked like they would be the next band to make it big. Full of vibrato, chops and style Dark Blonde took the city of Philadelphia by storm. Following in the footsteps of the Hooters the As, The Dead Milk Men and the Vels Dark Blond had IT. He started out as guitarist in the band Teddybears STHLM (later known only as Teddybears) together with his brother Joakim Åhlund and their friend Patrik Arve. Originally they played mostly hardcore punk, but on their third record, Rock 'n' Roll Highschool (2001) they teamed up with producer Fabian 'Phat Fabe' Torsson to make a record quite unlike their previous music. Now, they mixed influences from pop, electronica, hiphop, reggae, pinoy scandal and other styles with only few traces left of their former punk self. The album was quite well received, with several hit singles all over Europe, and critics calling the bands clash of styles "the future of Swedish rock". Klas Åhlund has since continued to write and produce music in this and similar styles, which may point to him having an important role in what Rock 'n' roll High School became. He has written and produced a record with his then wife Paola (who also appeared on one track on Rock 'n' Roll High School), made more music with the Teddybears, produced his brother Joakim's other band Caesars, and Swedish pop star Robyn to ...

Its instrumentation is varied with the sound of thumping drums, chiming guitars, a singalong chorus, and a string arrangement. The song also features a guitar lick swirl. The three lines of the third verse allude to a man's love of a woman, who does not reciprocate his love. He is telling he will always wait for her, but he does not think that she should stay where she is any longer. Tokio Hotel - Stich ins Gluk
During their Zimmer 483 Tour, Tokio Hotel played a lot of events and the tour continued then in the United States and Canada. There was the occasion of releasing their best songs in English in some exclusive editions for the North American market. The Zimmer Tour is marked by Bill's surgery because of some vocal problems and a lot of events from the American Tour canceled because of that. The year is full of band's appearances in big events as Rock In Rio and a lot of Music Awards ceremonies where they were nominated to many categories and won some of them. The Zimmer 483 (Room 483) released in 2007 remarked as a new and more developed sound, and also points the band's break of their Emo-Glam rock era and start of the new Tokio Hotel as a pop-rock group. Although, some sad or neurosis reminiscences are still present in songs like Vergessene Kinder (Forgotten children) or Nacht Dir kommt Nichts (After you comes nothing). The album is dominated by the super hit Spring Nicht (Don't Jump) which is in fact their response to the critics of promoting the suicide and bad messages in their music. Other relevant songs for Zimmer are Heiling (Sacred) that reload the twins relationship theme and also is dedicated to the relation between the band and their fans, Reden (Let's Talk)- a song that speaks about a one night stand experience of the guitarist Tom with a girl during their tours and Stich ins Gluk (On the edge) that talks about the drugs problem for teenagers. ABBA SHOULD be inducted into the R&R; HOF 2010:
If post a comment that I do not know what rock is, try looking at my channel and see what I listen to: Led Zepplin, The Beatles, Queen, Jefferson Airplane, and ect. There are more rockish ABBA tunes, witch will be soon posted. I disagree with all of you how just think of ABBA as a disco group. They are only known as "Disco" because it was 1976 people! That was what Dancing Queen was about. It was during the time of Studio 54, and all those disco clubs. And I am not Discos biggest fan. That song was just what the 70s where like. A young pretty girl, out on the town, the discos, the music, dancing, and ect. Don't you people remember?! You probably where one of the people dancing to this stuff once!! ALL of these songs ARE by ABBA! For gods sake, I am 12 and already know that!!! ABBA ROCKS!!! *This is also a video response to canadianstuddmuffin and his video Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. I have something to say to you: You have used the comparison of "Dancing Queen" about 3 times now I hope you now! To me, very lame excuse, that unfortunately, many people agree on. SONAMULATE - One Way Ticket
SONAMULATE - One Way Ticket
SONAMULATE (Pronounced 'Son - am - you - late') based on the English term 'somnambulate' - meaning: To Sleep Walk. Sonamulate was created in 2002 as a solo artist featuring only Justin Banks, and after EP Album "The Rise Of The Fallen" was recorded in January 2006, Justin claimed 1st prize in the Rock and Alternative category of the 2006/2007 Unisong International Songwriting Competition. Not wasting any time, Justin recruited Michael Miller(Guitars) Hamsy (Bass) and Damien McCluer (Drums) to form the band Sonamulate. The 2006/2007 10th Annual Unisong International Songwriting competition, Sonamulate won 1st place in Rock and Alternative with their self titled song 'Sonamulate' - they beat over 7000 other songwriters world wide in that catagory. in the same competition, oddly enough Sonamulate also won top 20 in R&B and Hip hop with their Nu-metal rap song 'One Way Ticket' Then a Shocking turn of events in 2007 Justin again won 1st place in Rock and Alternative for the 11th Annual Unisong International Songwriting competition with the gritty heavy Rock song: 'Desolate' - Justin is the only person ever to win 1st place more than once. 2 years in a row however will be tough to beat for many years to come. ( it is possible no one has ever done that before in any competition of this magnetude ) Sonamulate created a BandSpace profile, so there was music the fans could listen to for free, and after only 1 year, the profile claimed over 30000 site views and well over 133000 song ...

Pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Iron Maiden achieved success during the early 1980s. After several line-up changes, the band went on to release a series of platinum and gold albums. These include the US platinum-selling The Number of the Beast in 1982, Piece of Mind in 1983, Powerslave in 1984, the live release Live After Death in 1985, Somewhere in Time in 1986, and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son in 1988. The band are currently undergoing a resurgence in popularity, with their 2006 album A Matter of Life and Death peaking at number nine on the Billboard 200 and at number four in the UK. Their latest studio offering, The Final Frontier, was released worldwide on 16 and 17 August 2010, peaking at number one in 40 different countries and receiving universal acclaim from reviewers.[1] The album's second track, "El Dorado", won in the Best Metal Performance category at the 53rd Grammy Awards.[2] Considered one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history, Iron Maiden have reportedly sold over 85 million records worldwide[3] with little radio or television support.
