IDOL GOES TO CAMP

A few weeks ago, Billy Idol and Steve Stevens appeared with Los Angeles band, Camp Freddy during their annual December Holiday Residency at The Roxy Theatre on Sunset Blvd. Billy and Steve performed four songs to the sold-out crowd at the end of the bands two hour set – Silly Thing (Sex Pistols) and Shakin All Over (Johnny Kidd) followed by LA Woman and Rebel Yell. On behalf of BFI and his band we hope you all have a fun and safe New Year Celebration. Let’s hope that 2012 brings everyone happiness, laughter and some loud rock n roll. BRIDGE SCHOOL ALBUM AND DVD RELEASED

Billy has performed at the BRIDGE SCHOOL BENEFIT CONCERT four times: in 1988, 1996, 2001 and 2010. And now performances from the last two of Billy’s appearances are available on two different new releases, profits from both of which directly benefit THE BRIDGE SCHOOL. Billy’s acoustic performance of “Rebel Yell” from the 2001 Bridge School Concert appears on the 25th Anniversary Bridge School Concert DVD just released. Billy is also featured in the DVD extras interviewing a Bridge School student. Visit THIS PAGE to learn more about the other amazing performances on this release as well as to watch the 25th Bridge School Anniversary Trailer. Plus, Billy’s 2010 acoustic performances of Generation X’s “Running With The Boss Sound” and “Kiss Me Deadly” are featured on Volume 5 of the Bridge School Audio Collection. WEEK ONE TOUR DIARY

The tour diary has returned for the ‘Rocktober’ series of dates, written by band rhythm guitarist Billy Morrison. NEW SHIT FROM THE LIP

A brand new ‘Shit From The Lip’ post by Billy Idol is now up in the SFTL section of this site. The two new tracks that will be played live this month are ‘Postcards From The Past’ and ‘Too Far To Fall’ and BFI has posted the lyrics to both titles in his latest entry. Both tracks were written by Billy Idol, Steve Stevens and Billy Morrison. You can read the lyrics by CLICKING HERE. The October 2011 set also includes the Generation X track, ‘Love Like Fire’, the Billy Idol album track ‘Do Not Stand In The Shadows’ and the new track that was first performed last year, ‘Kings And Queens Of The Underground’.

THE RETURN OF THE DIARY

LOVE LIKE FIRE

Billy Idol and Billy Morrison chose the winer of the Twitter competition to see what extra Generation X track the band would play on the West Coast dates in October. The winning song, Love Like Fire, appears on the Valley Of The Dolls album, originally released in 1979.

SHERINIAN COVERED

Long time Billy Idol keyboard player, Derek Sherinian, is the cover feature in the current issue of Keyboard Magazine. Derek talks about his new solo album, Oceana, his influences, his band Black Country Communion and much more. Sherinian’s latest offering Oceana was just released by Music Theories, a division of the Mascot Label Group. He has performed for millions via the vehicles of Black Country Communion (of which he is a current member alongside Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham, Joe Bonamassa), Dream Theater, Alice Cooper, Buddy Miles and Billy Idol.  He will be on tour with Billy Idol in October.
