Drawing Variation: Baker’s Drawing
Put Your Hands to Work

This is a drawing I have been selling as note cards for sometime. In the card the print is black and white and I hand paint details on each card. I just created this full color version and it is available as prints, iphone cases, laptop skins and t-shirts through Society6.

Chester.

Ahem. SO. It’s the beginning of Feb. Shit. Havent posted anything in a bit. I thought Chester would make up for that He’s seen here with a wonderful double-skull pin that I saw from Alexander McQueen, it can be purchased as a ring here.  His dashing little waistcoat is fabric from Fred Ambler, and his scarf is fabric from a vintage wool skirt I own. The attic, and spider are life long companions. Booga.

Happy Birthday Ghirlandaio!
The Illustrators Journal

portrait by Ghirlandaio Ghirlandaio was one of the foremost Florentine artists of his time, which is kind of like being an actors actor in Hollywood today.  Some of his pupils like Michelangelo became more famous than him but that does not diominaih his skills or importance in the history of painting. A review of his work cements his place in history as one of the great renaissance painters.  Domenico Ghirlandaio 4?, February 1449 – 11 January 1494) was an Italian Renaissance painter fromFlorence. Among his many apprentices was Michelangelo. Ghirlandaio’s full name is given as Domenico di Tommaso di Currado di Doffo Bigordi. The occupation of his father Tommaso Bigordi and his uncle Antonio in 1451 was given as “‘setaiuolo a minuto,’ that is, dealers of silks and related objects in small quantities.” He was the eldest of six children born to Tommaso Bigordi by his first wife Mona Antonia; of these, only Domenico and his brothers and collaborators Davide an

Faces of Friends (Craig Alameda) + Drawing Meditations (KP)
KPdesign

A while back, my friend asked me to take his ‘Faces of Friends’ illustration and “Recycle” it (KP style) – so here it is: round one (Craig’s original illustration appears on the left). In all honesty, it looks a bit peculiar to add a drawing meditation to a human face, but I am keen on experimenting further with the idea. I can promise better follow-up renditions! In the end, I now know what I would look like with a full face tattoo Check out Craig’s work (he’s an AMAZING talent): http://facesoffriends.tumblr.com/ Original Illustration (left) © Craig Alameda. Surrealist Collage By Julien Pacaud
Aesthetic Perspective

This amazing collage work was created by French Illustrator, Julien Pacaud. Clients include Nike, Swatch, Le Monde and MIT News. Before becoming an illustrator, he was “an astrophysician, an international snooker player, a hypnotist and an esperanto teacher.” He hopes that someday “I can have enough free time to devote myself to my real passion: time travel.” More of Julien’s work

Moorland Memories – Sketches in Acrylic & Felt Tip
Blog Shed

I experimented this afternoon with drawing and sketching from memory, and then editing the results in Picasa, having come across an edit of an old oil painting I liked. These were quick paintings  in felt tip and acrylic, and the results were interesting if not brilliant. ‘Always throw the first pancake away’…as someone once said. Mind you, I don’t remember we ever did, whether it seasoned the pan or not…!
