Oslo Mela Festival
Oslo Mela Festival
Time:
17:00
In its eleventh year, Oslo Mela Festival has become one of the biggest world music festivals in Europe attracting about 300 000 visitors every year. Apart from music Oslo Mela also offers a variety of talks. This year Tariq Ali, the internationally known political activist will be the main speaker at Mela Talk. Short stories, poems, paintings, art installations, music, movies or plays can not change society alone, but can often come with a warning about the change. What is the role of culture in the democratization process in Egypt? Can we see the contours of the future of Iran through the Iranian movies? Scene 2 (Kontraskjæret) Saturday 25 august at 17:00
