''The Fairly OddParents'' is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman IV about the adventures of Timmy Turner, who is granted fairy godparents named Cosmo and Wanda. The series started out as cartoon segments that ran from September 4, 1998 to March 23, 2001 on ''Oh Yeah! Cartoons'' and was later picked up as an actual series. It is produced by Frederator Studios and Billionfold Studios (Season 6-present) for the cable network Nickelodeon. The television series was also distributed outside the United States by the Canadian animation company Nelvana. It is also the third longest-running Nicktoon, behind ''Rugrats'' and ''SpongeBob SquarePants'', as well as Nickelodeon's second highest rated show, behind ''SpongeBob SquarePants''. However, if Season 0 is counted, The Fairly OddParents is technically the second longest-running Nicktoon.
Over the course of the series, Timmy also makes many enemies. At the beginning, Vicky was a main, and apparently only, antagonist. As the series progressed, however, more villains were added. For example, his teacher, Mr. Crocker, firmly believes in fairy godparents and has been searching for them a very long time, suspecting that Timmy has fairy godparents. He is dangerous to Timmy because, according to "Da Rules", a large rulebook that defines what children can and cannot wish for and how fairy godparents must behave, if the child reveals that he or she has fairies, or if someone discovers their fairies, he will lose his fairies forever. At his school, he is often bullied by Francis, a vicious boy who claims to be the toughest student in school, but reveals to Timmy that he only takes out his anger on him because of his rough home life and abusive parents. Jorgen Von Strangle, an enormous and tough fairy with an Austrian accent, often described like Arnold Schwarzenegger, personally dislikes Timmy and his fairies (although in "Teeth for Two" he states Cosmo and Wanda are his closest friends, claiming he punches many others). Timmy is also loathed by his unwished wishes, for wishing them out of existence. Well into the series, Timmy is introduced to his archenemy, Remy Buxaplenty. He is joined by his fairy and ex-boyfriend of Wanda, Juandissimo.Remy is very jealous of Timmy for having three fairies while he only has one. He is also jealous of his loving parents. Remy's parents are constantly ignoring him, which led to him getting fairies. Juandissimo is constantly trying to woo Wanda, much to Cosmo's chagrin.
;Guest stars Throughout the course of the show, many celebrities have guest starred on ''The Fairly OddParents''. Some of the most notable are recurring characters Adam West (Catman) and Jay Leno (The Crimson Chin and a parody of himself in one episode). Some other famous stars were Norm Macdonald (Norm the Genie), Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC (Chip Skylark), Alec Baldwin (Older Timmy), Ben Stein (The Pixies), Gilbert Gottfried (Dr. Bender and Wendell), Brendan Fraser (Turbo Thunder), Patrick Warburton (M.E.R.F. agents), Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley (themselves), Steve Irwin (the Bad Parent Hunter, a self parody of "The Crocodile Hunter"), and Tom Arnold (Santa).
Though not featured as guests on the show, references have been made to other public figures, including Bill Gates (shown as a child with Cosmo and Wanda as fairy godparents), Tina Turner (also one of their godkids), Billy Crystal (parodied as Billy Crystal Ball), Sylvester Stallone (parodied as Sylvester Calzone), Britney Spears (parodied as Britney Britney), and President George W. Bush (a U.S. president was depicted in one episode, and he bore resemblance to then-president Bush). There is also references to "Jorgen Von Strangle," appearing to be a parodied Arnold Schwarzenegger, due to his large physique and thick accent. However, Arnold was also parodied in the Fairly Odd Parents where he was labelled "Arnold Schwartzen-German". He also quoted, "To be, or not to be, Annihilated!", which is a spoof from the movie "Last Action Hero" and Hamlet.
After ''Abra-Catastrophe!'', creator Butch Hartman created a new project for Nickelodeon called ''Danny Phantom''. A second ''Fairly OddParents'' TV special was made, titled ''Channel Chasers''. Since then, there have been other specials, like ''The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker'', ''Crash Nebula'', ''School's Out! The Musical'', ''Fairy Idol'', the "Jimmy-Timmy" crossovers, ''Fairly OddBaby'', ''Wishology'', "Anti-Poof" and the Live-Action movie- Grow Up Timmy Turner!
A theatrical movie was planned for release by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, but was eventually dropped due to a regime change by Paramount, though the script was written. Hartman stated on his website that he would like to release the movie to DVD one day, but did not have any definitive plans to do so. The Fairly OddParents have appeared in a $50 Best Western travel card over the 2006 summer period and again over the 2007 summer period.
Another Fairly OddParents special was released on Nickelodeon called Anti-Poof. This was the tenth Fairly OddParents special. It aired on July 10, 2009 and it followed a week of brand new Fairly OddParents episodes airing from July 6 to July 9, 2009. The special followed all of the new episodes aired in succession and was only episode length itself. It premiered on July 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm est. And on August 10–14 there was a premiere of brand new episodes of the Fairly Oddparents at 6:00 P.M. est. On October 19, 2009-October 23, 2009 @ 4/3c. The fairly oddparents aired one new episode February 6 part of Super Secret Crush Weekend. Currently Fairly Odd Parents Episodes air only on Saturday and Sunday mornings. A new episode premiered on September 11 at 11:30 a.m and September 18 at 11:30 EST. In February, Love Triangle premiered on the 12th and "Spellementary School" and "Operation Dinkleberg" premiered on the 26th. More new episodes will begin airing on February 11, 2011, including a live action TV movie called "''A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!''" that was premiered on July 9, 2011. More episodes are expected to air later this year.

He is small, wears a pink cap, and has noticeable buck teeth. His parents are rarely around and take little interest in his activities, which makes it easy for him to hide his fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda. He wishes for nearly everything he wants, which sometimes causes havoc. Timmy is smart, but has a short attention span and that he nearly lost his resourceful and physical skills, sometimes is good, obstinaded, selfish, and was required to go to "wishing rehab", where he re-learns how to rely on his own skills again. In "Fairly OddBaby", Timmy gets a fairy baby brother whom he named Poof. However, Cosmo has the infant instead of Wanda. In the ''Wishology Trilogy'', Timmy is revealed to be the one to defeat the Darkness. In the end, Timmy becomes friends with the Darkness, who had only been wanting a friend. In a season six episode, Timmy finally celebrates his 11th birthday.
In the movie, Timmy celebrated his 23rd birthday.
Cosmo and Wanda Cosma (née Fairywinkle) are the fairies who are assigned to Timmy Turner's as his fairy godparents. They are considered to replace Timmy's irresponsible and uneducated biological parents. To keep themselves a secret, they usually masquerade as Timmy's pet goldfish and live in a magical castle inside of his fish bowl. They often change into other animals to disguise themselves as they tag along after Timmy. In the show's earlier seasons, they were a loving, charming couple, but in later seasons they developed into the insensitive male/nagging female stereotype.
Timmy is forbidden from revealing their existence, the penalty being to lose them for good, though there are many loopholes to this rule. In the beginning of Season 6, they have the first fairy baby in over 10,000 years, whom Timmy names Poof. It is also revealed in "This Is Your Wish" that Cosmo is directly responsible for many historical tragedies, such as the volcanic eruption which destroyed the city of Pompeii in Italy and the sinking of Atlantis. He also destroyed Pluto in "Vicky Loses Her Icky". Wanda is responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs. Throughout their careers as fairy godparents, they have been assigned to many famous icons, such as Tina Turner and Bill Gates. Before Poof was born, Cosmo was the youngest fairy in existence. The fairies color scheme, as well as Wanda's choice of dress, are quite similar to the color scheme of the cover art for the UK and US versions of legendary Punk Rock band The Sex Pistols' only studio album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols. In the episode "Cosmo Rules", it was shown that Jorgen and Cosmo are cousins.
Poof was shaped like a ball when he was born, in comparison to Cosmo's birth in "Fairly Odd Baby", which had him shaped more like a human. He is a new sidekick puppy to Timmy, as Cleft the boy chin wonder, when he visited the Crimson Chin in "CHINdred Spirits". It has been confirmed that there is now a new character called Foop (aka Anti-Poof), and unlike Poof, who was ball-shaped he was born, is cube-shaped. Poof also seems to have a bond with Denzel Crocker as revealed in the episode "Bad Heir Day". He is also skilled at wrestling as seen in the episode "Planet Poof". In ''A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!'' Poof says his first words (spoken by Randy Jackson).
Timmy's mom and dad were once Polter Geeks until Jetubetach ran them across town. Timmy's mom was called "Barnabe" and Timmy's dad was called "Mom". Timmy's dad was a bongo player and his album titled Bingo Bongo went platinum.
She is Tootie's older sister. Despite her love of torturing him, Timmy does not want Vicky to leave (he's had several chances to let her do so) since she is the main reason he received Cosmo and Wanda in the first place. Nonetheless, Timmy has shown to relish the thought of Vicky being replaced or fired and often attempts to get his parents to do so. She enjoys firing truth serums at Timmy to learn about his fears. Vicky is referenced in Sharon Lamb's book ''Packaging Girlhood: Rescuing Our Daughters from Marketers' Schemes'', where she is referred to as "the mean girl/kid in the toon".
Vicky served as the primary antagonist of ''Channel Chasers''.
It has been revealed that Crocker is Cosmo and Wanda's ex-godson and is in their fairy godchild hall of fame, in the episode "The Origin of Denzel Crocker". His only identified relatives are his mother, Delores Day Crocker, his Canadian genie-paranoid uncle Albert, his 16-year-old step-dad Ricky, his grandfather who was turned into a grandfather clock and his probable ancestor the witch-paranoid Alden Bitterroot, who is a warlock. Crocker was once a hero and had his own honorary day on March 15, 1972, before it was ruined by Timmy, who had traveled back in time. Crocker's fairies used to be Cosmo and Wanda.
Ironically, Crocker serves as the main power source for all of the fairy magic. His belief is so strong that it was used to power the Big Wand (the source of all the magic in Fairy World); thus, it was catastrophic when his therapist hypnotized him into not believing in fairies anymore.
Crocker served as the primary antagonist of ''Abra-Catastrophe!'' and the first film of ''The Jimmy Timmy Power Hour''. Another running gag for him is whenever he (or anybody else) enters his "Crocker Cave, they fall hard on the floor after falling through a hole in the ceiling and move a mattress into place beneath the hole, but it somehow always ends up moved out of place again.
Of all the "unwishes" on Unwish Island, Dark Laser is the only one that has appeared again following "Escape from Unwish Island".
The April Fool (voiced by Daran Norris) is a character who pulls bad pranks and is sent back to Fairy World if they can't be completed. His nasal voice and trademark punchline, "What's up with that?", are modeled after comedian Jerry Seinfeld. He is also a doctor where Rip Studwell works. Blonda Fairywinkle (voiced by Tara Strong and Susan Blakeslee), Wanda's famous twin sister and Poof's only known aunt, stars in Jorgen von Strangle's favorite Fairy World soap opera "All My Biceps". According to Wanda, their mother favored Blonda as a child. The two originally hated each other openly (A popular method being a samurai sword fight to the death), believing that the other had the "easy life", but they made peace shortly after they assumed each other's lives and discovered just how tough they both have it. Blonda is a direct parody of Susan Lucci, in that, despite being favored by fans, has always been passed up for a "Zappy Award" (the Fairy World version of an Emmy Award) for her work on a famous soap opera. The original voice actor was Seinfeld's Julia Louis-Dreyfus, which was uncredited, according to the creator Butch Hartman.
Mama Cosma (voiced by Jane Carr), Cosmo and Schnozmo's mother, loathes Wanda and repeatedly attempts to get rid of her, due to the over-protective bond she has with her son. Recently, she has acted more civil towards Wanda, possibly due to Poof's birth. Mama Cosma is Poof's only known grandmother.
Rip Studwell (voiced by Jim Ward and Butch Hartman) is a fairy doctor who insists on being referred to by his full name. In the episode "Hairicane", it is revealed that he wears a toupee.
Simon Sparklefield (voiced by Carlos Alazraqui) is a parody of Simon Cowell.
Billy Crystal Ball (voiced by Carlos Alazraqui) is a parody of Billy Crystal.
Papa Cosma (voiced by Daran Norris) is Cosmo's father. He was turned into a fly by his infant son. He is also Poof's Grandfather.
Trixie Tang (voiced by Dionne Quan) is the most popular girl in Timmy's school, and is also one of the wealthiest children in the city. In the episode "The Boy Who Would Be Queen," it is revealed that Trixie secretly loves male-oriented things and is a tomboy. Timmy has a crush on her, but she frequently rejects him. In many episodes, he is seen making wishes on how to get Trixie to fall for him; sometimes she does, but later rejects him due to her reputation. She, like Timmy and his friends, gained super powers in "Big Super Hero Wish", becoming Wonder Gal, gaining super strength, super speed, and super popularity. However, in the episode "Just the Two of Us", Timmy learns that Trixie's beauty is only skin-deep, as when he wishes he and Trixie were the only two beings in the universe (with Cosmo and Wanda still by his side), Trixie becomes psychotically obsessed with his attention towards her, much to Timmy's suffocation. When Timmy decides to end their relationship, an angry Trixie chases him through the outskirts of a minimall in her attempt to kill him using sporting and gardening equipment, including a helicopter to slice him in half with the propeller blades, since the missiles were sold separately. However, this does not effect Timmy's feelings for her in later episodes. During the Wishology second and third part Trixie fell in love with Timmy. Partially because he could wish up things for her but they also shared their first kiss.
Billy Gates (Dee Bradley Baker), said to have invented the Internet, appeared in a few episodes. Is a clear parody of Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft..
Grandpa Vlad and Grandma Gladys, Timmy's maternal grandparents, are Ustinkestanian immigrants who came to Dimmsdale fifty years prior to the series to open a Yak-based fast food restaurant, "Yak-in-the-Box". Their restaurant became a national chain, making them millionaires. They do not visit often, due to their disliking of Timmy's Dad(whom they refer to as "son-in-law-we-don't-like")often bringing him sacks of animals such as weasels, badgers, etc.but work nearby at their original restaurant.
Catman (voiced by Adam West) is Adam West's alter ego. He is considered insane by most people, but is a good friend of Timmy's. Despite appearing unable to deal with normal criminals and overreacting to things, he is a decent superhero, as shown when he easily defeated several of the Crimson Chin's enemies. He believes he is half cat and suffers from severe Cynophobia.
Jeff and Eric are Mark's best friends from another planet. They appear in two episodes.
James Piercy (voiced by himself)

In addition to acting, Bell has a growing career as a musician, and co-wrote and performed the theme song to ''Drake & Josh'', entitled "Found a Way". In 2005 he independently released his debut album, ''Telegraph''. His second album, ''It's Only Time'', was released in 2006 after signing with Universal Motown.
He starred as Timmy Turner in the live-action TV-movie adaptation of its hit animated series ''The Fairly Odd Parents'', ''A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!'', released in 2011.
Bell has described his music as being heavily influenced by The Beatles and The Beach Boys, with the Beatles being his main influence. He says that two of his other influences are Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly.
In 2005, Bell performed with Hawk Nelson in a video for the Hawk Nelson song called "Bring 'Em Out," which was featured in the movie ''Yours, Mine and Ours''. Bell and then-band-mates Michael Corcoran (Backhouse Mike) and C.J. Abraham (The Super Chris), worked on music for ''Drake & Josh'', ''Zoey 101'', and ''iCarly''.
On October 16, 2007, the Radio Disney single edit version of his song "Makes Me Happy", was released on iTunes. This was the second single for Bell's album ''It's Only Time''. He also wrote with band-mates Michael Corcoran (Backhouse Mike), and C.J. Abraham (The Super Chris), and sang the theme song for the show ''iCarly'', "Leave It All to Me," with Miranda Cosgrove. The music video for the song premiered on May 24, 2008. Bell has recorded a theme song featuring Sara Paxton for his movie ''Superhero Movie'' called "Superhero! Song". He performed some Christmas songs in the ''Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh'' movie.
A DVD entitled "Drake Bell In Concert" was released on December 16, 2008. The video was unable to crack the 2008 or 2009 Top 100. The DVD contains footage of him and his band live on stage while they toured in Mexico, in October 2008. It also features 2 new songs and 5 covers, all of which are exclusive to the DVD.
The ''Live In Concert'' DVD featured new music for the first time since 2006's ''It's Only Time''; "Sea Song" and "All Alone at the Disco". He released a preview of a Spanglish edit of "All Alone at the Disco".
In 2009, Bleu uploaded a new track "Yesterday's Fool" to his SoundCloud page that he wrote/produced with Bell.
In 2010, Bell released a video showing him and Toby Gad working on a new song "Nevermind". A behind-the-scenes video of the making of the music video for a new song "Our Love" was uploaded on Bell's Official YouTube Channel in 2010. The official music video for "Our Love" appeared on YouTube soon after.
In March 2011, Bell released a 1:00 clip of the music video for a new song "Terrific", with a sneak preview of the studio version of the song.
On May 18, 2011, an official music video for the new song "You're Not Thinking" was released on YouTube, the video already airing heavily in Latin and South America (MTV Mexico Top 10).
A new single, "Terrific", was released on June 14, 2011, and was also included on an EP titled ''A Reminder'', released on June 28, 2011, also featuring the songs "You’re Not Thinking", "Big Shot" and "Speak My Mind". The EP was produced by John Fields, who previously worked with Rooney, Jimmy Eat World, Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, and Bleu. Bell said he decided to release ''A Reminder'' because he hasn't put out new music in a few years and "a full album will probably not happen until next year."
