Spratly Islands
The Spratly Islands are a group of more than 750 reefs, islets, atolls, cays, and islands in the South China Sea between Brunei, China, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam. They comprise less than four square kilometers of land area, spread over more than 425,000 square kilometers of sea. The Spratlys are part of the three archipelagos of the South China Sea, comprising more than 30,000 islands and reefs which so complicates geography, governance and economics in that region of Southeast Asia. Such small and remote islands have little economic value in themselves, but are important in establishing international boundaries. There are no native islanders but there are rich fishing grounds and initial surveys indicate the islands may be near significant oil and gas deposits.

The archipelago is located in the northern Mozambique Channel in the Indian Ocean, namely between northwestern Madagascar and northeastern Mozambique. Papua (province)
Papua is the largest province of Indonesia. It comprises most of the western half of the island of New Guinea and nearby islands. The province originally covered the entire western half of New Guinea. In 2003, the Indonesian government declared the westernmost part of the island, around Bird's Head Peninsula, a separate province; its name was first West Irian Jaya and now West Papua. In November 2004, an Indonesian court agreed that the split violated Papua's autonomy laws. However, the court ruled that because the new province had already been created, it should remain separate from Papua. Transnistria

O Governo da França planejou uma Exposição mundial e anunciou uma competição de design arquitetônico para um monumento que seria construído no Champ-de Mars, no centro de Paris. Mais de cem designs foram submetidos ao concurso. O comitê do Centenário escolheu o projeto do engenheiro Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923), de quem herdaria o nome, da torre com uma estrutura metálica que se tornaria, então, a estrutura mais alta do mundo construída pelo homem. Com seus 317 metros de altura, possuía 7300 toneladas quando foi construída, sendo que atualmente deva passar das 10000, já que são abrigados restaurantes, museus, lojas, entre muitas outras estruturas que não possuía na época de sua construção. Sylvia Lim sums it all up for Singaporeans. The GDP is split three ways: One share is paid out in wages, another to companies as profits, and lastly, to the Government as taxes. In 1980, the wage share was a low 38 per cent, climbing to a peak of 48 per cent in 1985, due to high wage policies during that high-growth period. But recession hit in the mid-1980s, and the high wage policies were seen as adding to the severity of the situation as they eroded the profitability of companies. Since then, the wage share has moderated to an average of 43 per cent to ensure a competitive wage structure. It is, however, not on a par with that in other countries with similar GDP rates. In 2000, Singapores wage share was 42 per cent, lower than the United States (58 per cent), Japans (57 per cent) and Frances (52 per cent), according to the paper by the Statistics Department. In March last year, economist Linda Lim said Singapores economic growth model has tried to do too much, and achieved too little in delivering returns for Singaporeans, relative to foreign firms and foreigners. She cited the low wage share (41 per cent in 2007) and high share of profits, interest and dividends (more than 50 per cent). Foreign share of domestic production and income has also increased. Similarly, a survey by Swiss bank UBS on prices and earnings last year showed a sobering picture for Singapore workers. Criteria for inclusion
The dominant customary international law standard of statehood is the declarative theory of statehood that defines the state as a person of international law if it "possess[es] the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; (b) a defined territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states." Debate exists on the degree to which recognition should be included as a criterion of statehood. The declarative theory of statehood, an example of which can be found in the Montevideo Convention, argues that statehood is purely objective and recognition of a state by other states is irrelevant. On the other end of the spectrum, the constitutive theory of statehood defines a state as a person under international law only if it is recognized as sovereign by other states.
