Sony/PIAS fire

9 August 11

As you may have heard/read, the Sony Enfield distribution centre that holds Rock Action’s stock burned down last night. We’ll have more information on how this affects the releases we’ve got planned and also our back catalogue when we have it.

PIAS have been hugely supportive to us as a label and the most recent projects we’ve worked with them on such as Mogwai’s “Special Moves” and “Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will” have been among the most successful that Rock Action have had in our history. Obviously we were not the only label distributed by PIAS, around 150 labels (some of whom have been a huge inspiration to the way we run Rock Action and who we are very fortunate to consider friends) had stock housed in the warehouse and the impact that this could have to many of them is potentially devastating. You can see a full list of those who are likely to have been affected below.

If you’re of the inclination then please do check out some of these labels and see if there’s any records you’d been meaning to buy either physically or digitally since now’s as good a time as any to place an order.

Cheers,
Everyone at Rock Action
