DEAD LABOUR PROCESS "SENTIMENT" CDR (Chocolate Monk) £4
Here's what Nyoukis has to say about it: "Edinburghs one man tape blub merchant presents recordings made in his home town and that of Offenbach, Germany. Warbling and clank are captured in loops. At one point there is some vague sense of a carnival tent in which the studying of stumps takes place and where bones tell tales. Croon dementia is set upon us, molecules warbled sideways, nausea. On the way out we get gnawing and gurgling camouflaged by mud, necks craned in formation. A goat haired bow and proclamations."
DEAD LABOUR PROCESS "RATS IN THE GRAVY OF KNOWLEDGE" CDR (PIFHO) £4
Long-form release of heavily milked recordings from across Europe in 2011, including some group drunk singalong jerk offs, 2 cover versions, various bumbling foibles and some personal 'issues' being worked out in public therapy. I will humbly give this my highest recommendation...
DEAD LABOUR PROCESS/KOMMISSAR HJULER UND FRAU "HAMBURG TAPES" (TOTAL VERMIN) £3
Recorded live in Hamburg, 2011. Two side long pieces for tapes, voice, biscuit tin, guitar and keyboard. Originally released on a DVD in an edition of about 2 copies or something, but to be honest there was nothing to see on it since we played in the dark! Much better in straight up audio and you can conjure up your own visuals. Here's what Arnot is saying: "Live hook-ups between Edinburgh's DLP, also to be found in noise rock shitkickers Muscletusk and certifiable droolers Brittle Hammer Trio, and Germany's Mr and Mrs Dada. They weave together an unremittingly strange noise, from sources familiar and unknown, simultaneously alien and as human as snot. As unhinged, confusing and ultimately beautiful as you could hope for.
BRITTLE HAMMER TRIO "OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS" CDR (Poot) £4
Debut release by the trio of Fritz Welch, Ali Robertson and Euan Currie. As much scrape, warble and tickle as you can shake a stinky duckcall at. Cover art by Fritz Welch.
BRITTLE HAMMER TRIO "COMMUNICATION METHODS" CDR (No label) £4
Special release for sale at Colour Out Of Space fest in Nov 2011. Recorded in my kitchen then fannied about by Fritz. This is in some ways a very broad concept album which has been continued in our recent live work, although this may be pushing it a bit...
VARIOUS ARTISTS "SONGS ABOUT DYING" CDR (Pjorn 72) £4
A various artists grouping of some disrepute...inc. Blood Stereo, UFO Antler Band, Nackt Insecten, Scrim, Jazzfinger, Culver, Wounded Knee, Fordell Research Unit and of course my good self. I guess most of these "songs" to touch on mortality, although perhaps Scrim's "Mangers and Bash" might require some explaining. Cover art by Karen Constance.
ALL RELEASES ARE IN VERY LIMITED QUANTITIES, SO DON'T SIT ABOUT STROKING YOUR TITTIES! Get to it...

UN033 Lovely Honkey "The Destitute Homeless Form Part Of The Scenery" CDR £4
"Album of the year!" - Ali Robertson (Usurper)
Isolated by the brown water, Luke Poot's one fingered directions into 4am TV-land feel like they've only seen the light of day seeping through stained curtains, then been so freaked out he scuttled back under the bed to fumble out some of that "music" he heard the neighbours talking about through the walls...Now stop talking with your mouth full...
UN034 Core Of The Coalman "Precambrian Figures" CDR £4
Metaphysical slabs of composerly wisdom mangled by intermittent mad-scientist haphazard whims. Praha's wizard of the viola gives the horse hair a rest, instead focusing his mind's ears on the sounds of slow moving rocks, fixed point synth channelling and hands catching lead (half speed, naturally...). Includes intimate explanatory notes by the artiste.
UN035 Hunting, Shooting and Fishing "Buckshot/Quiverful" CDR £4
Hot new East/West Coast hook up (by way of the South) featuring a member of Helhesten. What starts out like a bunch of kids from Alan Bryant's bouncing little people planet soon disintegrates into grainy unthunk smog. Both epic and intimate, stand back and its a hobo flute on the mountaintop and strings picking out a half-forgotten childhood melody; look at the details and it's two soft lads in motheaten sweaters hunched over their busted instruments in a freezing room, twitching to keep warm.

MUSCLETUSK "ASK THE UNIVERSE" LP

Muscletusk "Ask the Universe" LP
Braw Records

"A relentlessly sludgy stew...Scattershot drum-powered metal guitars collide with washing machine electronics and manic wordless vocals that in the record’s quietest moments sound like some feral alien cave-creature’s mating call straight out of Quatermass. A perfect hallucinogenic Halloween accompaniment; this is an earth’s core horror movie soundtrack in waiting" - Neil Cooper, The List.
"It’s often easy to spot a Metal attitude lurking under the surface of a Noise group but, in the case of Edinburgh quartet Muscletusk, it breaks the surface like a particularly nasty zit. At heart, this is a heavy rock unit of guitars, drums and vocals, who have escaped the tyranny of the riff. On this debut vinyl release, drums clatter and thrash in a way that’s free-form yet devoid of jazz; guitars puke and churn extreme feedback and Industrial noise; wordless, abstracted vocals shriek and gibber. The resulting thuggish onslaught is bent into loops and swirling, queasy drones, several of which are stitched together here in a brutal, slightly nauseating collage. Taken in one go, it’s like drowning in a cement mixer" - Daniel Spicer
"From the darkest of scuzz-coated cellars comes the debut LP from Edinburgh’s finest proponents of creeping noise slime. If this retching onslaught was blasting out from under your neighbours’ door, you’d probably walk past shudde...ring and ready to invest in ear plugs. Opener “Rusted Horse” sets an immaculate tone, as decaying swathes of sickening electronics rush up to nauseous heights, complimented by hysterical chimp-like vocal chattering. Free drums skitter and scramble around somewhere down by the nether regions and, all in all, it makes for a pretty fantastic white-out. Six further pieces pursue this course before the final sputtering discharge of “Fingers Inside The Glove”. God knows what answer Muscletusk expects of the universe, but it could possibly be found by playing this LP at full volume while power drilling into your forehead in search of a third eye." - Euan Andrews, Rock-a-Rolla

BOTH RELEASES POSTAGE PAID: £8 UK/ £9 EUROPE/ £10 WORLD
(or see P&P details below...)
UN031 KI - "Stops Dropping!" CDR £5
Degreaser for yr mossed up brain, live at the INSTAL 09 fest in Glasgow, Scotland. Trio of Tamio Shiraishi (on ear peircing sax/gibbering, of Fushitsusha), Mico (on wails, clatter, piano and huh??, member of No Neck Blues Band) and Fritz Welch (on gong, traps, Les Dawson lips and "vibes", member of Peeesseye/Brittle Hammer Trio etc etc). This was a total standout for me at a fest packed with utter lunacy. Getting up close and personal while Mico lost it with some cymbals crashing too near my little toes was a special moment. Comes in beautiful screenprinted sleeves, design by the Welch twins.
UN032 Iain Campbell - "Absolutely the best ABBA since ABBA" CDR £4
Potentially litigious smorgasboard, this ain't exactly Mamma Mia 2...Recordings from unknown sources, madly spliced chatter, gleaming feedback streams and all sorts of primal scrape. If you listen to it backwards those voices probably say something demonic. Listen to the sample, big cheese.
