Morgan Freeman (born June 1, 1937) is an American actor, film director, aviator and narrator. He is noted for his reserved demeanor and authoritative speaking voice. Freeman has received Academy Award nominations for his performances in ''Street Smart'', ''Driving Miss Daisy'', ''The Shawshank Redemption'' and ''Invictus'' and won in 2005 for ''Million Dollar Baby''. He has also won a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Freeman has appeared in many other box office hits, including ''Unforgiven'', ''Glory'', ''Seven'', ''Deep Impact'', ''The Sum of All Fears'', ''Bruce Almighty'', ''Batman Begins'', ''March of the Penguins'', ''The Bucket List'', ''Evan Almighty'', ''Wanted'', ''The Dark Knight'', and ''Red''.
Freeman moved to Los Angeles in the early 1960s and worked as a transcript clerk at Los Angeles Community College. During this period, he also lived in New York City, working as a dancer at the 1964 World's Fair, and in San Francisco, where he was a member of the Opera Ring music group. Freeman acted in a touring company version of ''The Royal Hunt of the Sun,'' and also appeared as an extra in the 1965 film ''The Pawnbroker.'' He made his off-Broadway debut in 1967, opposite Viveca Lindfors in ''The Nigger Lovers'' (about the civil rights era "Freedom Riders"), before debuting on Broadway in 1968's all-black version of ''Hello, Dolly!,'' which also starred Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway.
Beginning in the mid-1980s, Freeman began playing prominent supporting roles in many feature films, earning him a reputation for depicting wise, fatherly characters. As he gained fame, he went on to bigger roles in films such as the chauffeur Hoke in ''Driving Miss Daisy'', and Sergeant Major Rawlins in ''Glory'' (both in 1989). In 1994 he portrayed Red, the redeemed convict in the acclaimed ''The Shawshank Redemption''. In the same year he was a member of the jury at the 44th Berlin International Film Festival.
He also starred in films such as ''Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'', ''Unforgiven'', ''Seven'', and ''Deep Impact''. In 1997, Freeman, together with Lori McCreary, founded the film production company Revelations Entertainment, and the two co-head its sister online film distribution company ClickStar. Freeman also hosts the channel ''Our Space'' on ClickStar, with specially crafted film clips in which he shares his love for the sciences, especially space exploration and aeronautics.
After three previous nominations—a supporting actor nomination for ''Street Smart'', and leading actor nominations for ''Driving Miss Daisy'', and ''The Shawshank Redemption''—he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in ''Million Dollar Baby'' at the 77th Academy Awards. Freeman is recognized for his distinctive voice, making him a frequent choice for narration. In 2005 alone, he provided narration for two films, ''War of the Worlds'' and the Academy Award-winning documentary film ''March of the Penguins''.
Freeman appeared as God in the hit film ''Bruce Almighty'' and its sequel, ''Evan Almighty'', as well as Lucius Fox in the critical and commercial success ''Batman Begins'' and its 2008 sequel, ''The Dark Knight''. He starred in Rob Reiner's 2007 film ''The Bucket List'', opposite Jack Nicholson. He teamed with Christopher Walken and William H. Macy for the comedy ''The Maiden Heist'', which was released direct to video due to financial problems of the distribution company. In 2008, Freeman returned to Broadway to co-star with Frances McDormand and Peter Gallagher for a limited engagement of Clifford Odets's play, ''The Country Girl'', directed by Mike Nichols.
He had wanted to do a film based on Nelson Mandela for some time. At first he tried to get Mandela's autobiography, ''Long Walk to Freedom'', adapted into a finished script, but it could never be finalized. In 2007 he purchased the film rights to a pre-published 2008 book by John Carlin, ''Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Made a Nation''. Clint Eastwood directed the Nelson Mandela bio-pic titled ''Invictus'', starring Freeman as Mandela and Matt Damon as rugby team captain Francois Pienaar. In October 2010, Freeman co-starred alongside Bruce Willis in ''Red''.
Freeman was the first American to record a par on Legend Golf & Safari Resort's Extreme 19th hole.
At age 65, Freeman earned a private pilot's license. He owns or has owned at least three private aircraft, including a Cessna Citation 501 jet and a Cessna 414 twin-engine prop. In 2007 he purchased an Emivest SJ30 long-range private jet, and took delivery in December 2009. He is certified to fly all of them.
Effective January 4, 2010, Freeman replaced Walter Cronkite as the voiceover introduction to the ''CBS Evening News'' featuring Katie Couric as news anchor. CBS cited the need for consistency in introductions for regular news broadcasts and special reports as the basis for the change.
As of 2010, Freeman is the host and narrator of the Discovery Channel television show ''Through the Wormhole''.
He has two sons from previous relationships before he married Bradshaw. He adopted his first wife's daughter, and the couple also had his fourth child.
In 2008, the TV series ''African American Lives 2'' revealed that Freeman's great-great-grandparents were slaves who migrated from North Carolina to Mississippi.
Freeman has worked on narrating small clips for global organizations, such as One Earth, whose goals include raising awareness of environmental issues. He has narrated the clip "Why Are We Here", which can be viewed on One Earth's website.
Freeman has donated money to the Mississippi Horse Park in Starkville, Mississippi. The Horse park is part of Mississippi State University. Freeman has several horses that he takes there.
Freeman joined President Bill Clinton, USA Bid Committee Chairman Sunil Gulati, and USMNT midfielder Landon Donovan on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 in Zurich for the USA bid committee's final presentation to FIFA for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In 2008, Freeman's family history was profiled on the PBS series ''African American Lives 2''. A DNA test showed that he is descended from the Songhai and Tuareg peoples of Niger.

Tracy Jamal Morgan (born November 10, 1968) is an American actor, comedian and author who is best known for his eight seasons as a cast member on ''Saturday Night Live'' and currently known for playing the role of Tracy Jordan on the NBC series ''30 Rock''.
Morgan grew up in the Tompkins Projects in Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Later, Morgan moved in with his father and, as a teenager, was living with him when he died from AIDS. After attending De Witt Clinton High School in the Bronx, he was discovered in 1984 while doing stand-up at The Apollo. Before Morgan began his career, he worked in New York City as a painter, for L&L; Painting and Rose Company.
Morgan was also a regular cast member on "Uptown Comedy Club", a sketch comedy show filmed in Harlem which aired for two seasons between 1992 to 1994. He was also on the HBO show ''Snaps''.
On March 14, 2009, Morgan returned to SNL as host and reprised his roles of Brian Fellow and Astronaut Jones.
Morgan also had a stand-up special entitled "One Mic" that was shown on Comedy Central. He also was the host of the first Spike Guys' Choice Awards, which aired on June 13, 2007. In 2003, he was on an episode of ''Punk'd'' in which his car was towed from the valet parking. He can be heard as "Spoonie Luv" on the Comedy Central program ''Crank Yankers'' and as Woof in the MTV2 Animated Series ''Where My Dogs At?''.
Morgan acted in commercials for ESPN NFL 2K, ESPN NBA 2K, and ESPN NHL 2K, where he co-starred with Warren Sapp, Ben Wallace and Jeremy Roenick. He appeared in the movie ''The Longest Yard'', starring Adam Sandler, as a transvestite inmate.
Morgan has hosted the VH1 Hip Hop Honors for 2 consecutive years and hosted the third season of ''Scare Tactics'', the Sci Fi Channel's hidden camera show that pranks people by using their worst fears against them.
Morgan voiced Agent Blaster in Disney's ''G-Force'' and a Bulldog in the Blue Sky Animation Studios film ''Rio''.
Around December 10, 2010, Tracy Morgan received a kidney transplant. It was announced on December 22, 2010 that he was resting and will miss "at least two episodes" of "30 Rock" in 2011.
On June 3, 2011, during a standup performance in Nashville, Tennessee, Morgan made inflammatory comments about gay people, reportedly including that, if his son were gay, he would "pull out a knife and stab" him. Morgan apologized, saying that he had "gone too far,". NBC Entertainment head Bob Greenblatt stated, "I speak for NBC and myself personally when I say we do not condone hate or violence of any kind, and I am pleased to see Tracy Morgan apologizing for recent homophobic remarks in his standup appearance... Unfortunately, Tracy's comments reflect negatively on both ''30 Rock'' and NBC — two very all-inclusive and diverse organizations — and we have made it clear to him that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated." Tina Fey, Morgan's boss both in fiction and in real life, said, "I'm glad to hear that Tracy apologized .... but the violent imagery of Tracy's rant was disturbing to me at a time when homophobic hate crimes continue to be a life-threatening issue for the GLBT community...the Tracy Morgan I know, ...is not a hateful man and [would never] hurt another person. I hope for his sake that Tracy's apology will be accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian co-workers at ''30 Rock'', without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket."
On June 25, 2011, during a show at Caroline's in New York City, Morgan made degrading remarks towards the disabled, saying things such as, "Don't ever mess with women who have retarded kids," and referring to a woman as "a cripple". Peter Bernes, CEO of The Arc, an organization supporting people with disabilities, stated, "Tracy Morgan should apologize immediately. This quote is far too offensive to be excused as comedy, and it is very hurtful to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Mr. Morgan has an incredibly powerful platform from which to fix this, and if he's learned anything in the last few weeks, he can't bomb this apology."

Tegan and Sara are a Canadian indie band (born September 19, 1980). Both Tegan and Sara play guitar and keyboard and write songs.
Two songs from ''Red tape'' appeared on their first album, ''Under Feet Like Ours'', which they released independently in 1999 under the name "Sara and Tegan". They changed their name to "Tegan and Sara" because it was easier to pronounce and later reprinted the album using that name. Also, they wanted their name to stand out amongst the other Sara musicians at the time such as Sarah McLachlan and Sarah Slean. Tegan was easier to remember. Neil Young's manager signed them to Young's Vapor Records label, and they released ''This Business of Art'' through Vapor in 2000. They have toured extensively since then.
In 2002, the band released ''If It Was You''. Their fourth album, ''So Jealous'', was released in 2004 and led to wider success. This album was released through both Vapor and Sanctuary. One track on the album, "Walking with a Ghost", was covered by The White Stripes, who released it on their ''Walking with a Ghost'' EP.
Their 2007 album ''The Con'' was released by Vapor and Sire because Sanctuary chose to no longer release new music in the United States. The album was co-produced by Chris Walla. Jason McGerr of Death Cab for Cutie, Matt Sharp of The Rentals and previously Weezer, Hunter Burgan of AFI, and Kaki King all appear on the album.
On October 27, 2009, Tegan and Sara released their sixth album ''Sainthood'', produced by Chris Walla and Howard Redekopp, as well as a three-volume book set titled ''ON, IN, AT'', which is a collection of stories, essays, journals, and photos of the band on tour in America in the fall of 2008, writing together in New Orleans, and touring Australia. The photographs in the book are by Lindsey Byrnes and Ryan Russell. While recording ''Sainthood'', Tegan and Sara spent a week writing songs together in New Orleans. The song "Paperback Head" appeared on the album, making it the first song on any Tegan and Sara album that they wrote together. ''Spin'' magazine gave ''Sainthood'' four out of five stars and wrote, "Tegan and Sara's music may no longer be the stuff of teens, but its strength remains in how much it feels like two people talking."
In 2011, they launched 2011: A Merch Odyssey, which will see the launch of at least one new item in the official online stores every month, all year long, while they take time off to write their 7th record and work on a DVD.
Their onstage banter, including stories and commentary about their childhood, politics, and life on the road, have become an indispensable part of their live shows.
They have performed at festivals including Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair 1999, Coachella, Lollapalooza,SXSW 2005, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Falls Festival, Sasquatch!,Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Tour 2008; Southbound 2009,Glastonbury, Lilith Fair, Newport Folk Festival 2011 and Sasquatch! 2010.
In December 2010 Tegan and Sara supported Jack Johnson in New Zealand and Australia.
In April 2008, Tegan wrote and recorded a song titled "His Love" at the request of Augusten Burroughs as a contribution to the audio version of his book ''A Wolf at the Table''. The two headlined Spin's September 2008 ''Liner Notes'' benefit for Housing Works, a New York non-profit.
In addition to their own set, Tegan and Sara performed with DJ Tiësto during the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on June 13, 2008. Tegan and Sara appeared as guests, providing live vocals for Tiësto's remix of "Back in Your Head". Tegan and Sara also collaborated with Tiësto on the song "Feel It in My Bones" from his 2009 album ''Kaleidoscope'' and appeared in the music video for this song.
Tegan and Sara are featured on Margaret Cho's 2009 album ''Cho Dependent'' on the track "Intervention". They are also featured in Margaret's video for the song.
Tegan and Sara released an "Alligator" remix album on iTunes in 2010. Contributors included Doveman, Four Tet, Passion Pit, Ra Ra Riot, and VHS or Beta.
Sara is featured on rapper/songwriter/producer Theophilus London's track "Why Even Try" from his 2011 Lover's Holiday EP.
Both Tegan and Sara appear in Sara Bareilles' star-studded music video for her song "Uncharted". The video premiered in March 2011 and also features, amongst others, Josh Groban, Laura Jansen, Ingrid Michaelson, Pharell Williams, Adam Levine, Ben Folds, Keenan Cahill, Jennifer Nettles, and Vanessa Carlton.
Tegan sings with Jim Ward, "Broken Songs."
NOFX's song "Creeping out Sara" is about the two sisters.
Sara appears in Kaki King's music video for "Pull Me out Alive."
