An Online Archive of
Socialist History and Thought
Over the past 100 years, socialists in Canada and Québec have written a vast amount
on the political issues they considered important, but
virtually none of those writings are available today. The experiences, ideas, analyses and insights
of a century of socialism are in danger of being forgotten and
lost forever.
The Socialist History Project, launched in June 2004 by South Branch
Publishing, aims to recover that material and make it available on the
web. For complete lists, click on "Document Index" or "Reminiscences
Index" in the top menu.

Announcement Dear friends:
As I'm sure you've noticed, there have been no additions to
the Socialist History Project website for some time.
There are hundreds of documents on the site, including several complete books,
making it the largest collection of Canadian left documents on the Internet.
Interest in the site remains strong, and there is no shortage
of material that could be added.
Unfortunately, adding documents is very time consuming, and other demands on my
time have made it impossible for me to continue.
So it seems appropriate now to formally announce that while the site will remain
online, no more documents will be added until further notice.
I am still very eager to add personal reminiscences of the
revolutionary left, and will do so as manuscripts are submitted.
Thank you for your support. I hope it will one day be possible to resume the
project more fully.
