Plot
Jaidev and Kavita Bhasin live a middle-classed lifestyle in Southall, England, along with their son, Sunny. During the mid-80s Jaidev was a star football player for the all-Asian Southall Football Club, and their team was very successful so much so that it generated hatred from opposing mainstream Caucasian teams, who attacked Jaidev and the team's coach, Tony Singh. This spelled the end of the team, and the ground was then rented out for weddings and birthday parties. Jaidev wanted Sunny to follow in his footsteps, but Sunny believed himself to be British and joined the Aston Football Club. When the time came for selection, Sunny, often referred to as 'Paki', was sidelined. Embittered, he joined the Southall Club, and he, and the Captain Shaan Ali Khan, as well as Coach Tony Singh, steered the team to many victories including a place in the semi-finals. Just before Southall team was to play against Gatwick, they get the news that Sunny has flip-flopped again - this time he has switched to the Melbourne Club in exchange for a fancy sports car, a 4 bedroom mansion, a handsome signing amount, and an equally generous weekly allowance - leaving Southall to turn it's ground over to the Chair of the City Council who wants to demolish it, and build a shopping mall and theme park in it's place.

Umberto Antonio Tozzi (born 4 March 1952) is an Italian pop/rock singer and composer, born in Turin. His most internationally famous song is "Gloria"
In 1968, at the age of 16, Umberto Tozzi joined 'Off Sound', one of the many groups that performed in small venues around Turin. In Milan, he met Adriano Pappalardo, with whom he formed a 13-piece band and began a large-scale Italian tour.
At only 22 (in 1974) Tozzi had his first success as a songwriter, with the song "Un corpo, un'anima" (lit. "One Body, One Soul"), co-written with Damiano Dattoli and performed by Wess and Dori Ghezzi. It appeared on Canzonissima, an Italian music programme running from 1956-1974.
In 1976, he released his first album, Donna amante mia ("My loving woman"), from which came the single "Io camminerò" ("I Will Walk") which at the time had been sung with great success by Fausto Leali. In 1977 one of Tozzi's most famous songs was released- "Ti amo".It stayed at number one on the Italian charts for seven months, outselling every other record, and went on to become an international success throughout continental Europe. It also made some inroads in the Americas and Australia, primarily in discotheques. The single was awarded a gold record award in Australia, despite the fact that it only made number 25 on the charts there in late 1979 (source: Kent Music Report, 1980). By late 1980 he releases "Stella Stai" originally vocaled in Italian and a year later in 1981 Puerto Rican youth group Menudo release a Spanish vocaled version re-titled as "Claridad" (Clarity). The Spanish version was also composed by Tozzi himself only that Menudo's version topped elsewhere throughout Latin America. 1978 saw the release of Tu, another hit in Italy.
amo tus preguntas, tus respuestas,
Yo amo tus dudas y certezas,
amo tus recuerdos, tus olvidos,
amo tus olores, tus fragancias,
te amo y si pudiera no amarte,
amo tus caricias, tus ofensas,
amo tus preguntas, tus respuestas
yo amo tus dudas y certezas
amo tus recuerdos, tus olvidos
amo tus olores, tus fragancias
te amo y si pudiera no amarte
amo tus caricias, tus ofensas

We use to laugh on the street light
Got lost on the inside
And that's a nothin' without you
The life that we once had turned so blue
You knock me down in your free fall
So destructive and so cold
These broken bottles and street signs
Just remind me of days we spent round mine
(Chorus)
Saw me open, and now I can see you glow
Calling out through the night, I won't let you go
Right along through the day, till I watch your skies at night
Stars shine for Amelia (Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah)
She's a girl that I once knew (Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Amelia)
And the love goes down so slowly
Time wont change you only
In my dreams you're here tonight (Amelia, Amelia)
(End Chorus)
We'd always find our way somehow
But those days are gone now
These streets mean nothin' without you
'Cause the times that we once had turned so blue
(Chorus)
Amelia, Amelia, Amelia, Amelia
Stars shine for Amelia (Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah)
She's a girl that I once knew (Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Amelia)
And the love goes down so slowly
Time wont change you only
