Shame (2011) Official Trailer - Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan
aHBl9p4Y wQ75iEtG 2rPCvGg6 Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a New Yorker who shuns intimacy with women but feeds his desires with a compulsive addiction to sex. When his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment stirring memories of their shared painful past, Brandon's insular life spirals out of control. Shame premiered at The 68th Venice Film Festival in the main competition. Fassbender won a Volpi Cup for best actor at the Venice Film Festival for his role in the film. It was also screened at The 36th Toronto International Film Festival, The 49th New York Film Festival and The 55th BFI London Film Festival. Shame will be officially released in the United Kingdom on January 13, 2012.[11] Fox Searchlight will distribute the film in the US. The film was rated NC-17 (no one 17 and under admitted) by the Motion Picture Association of America. Searchlight has not planned to appeal the rating or make cuts for the less-restrictive R rating. Searchlight president Steve Gilula said, "I think NC-17 is a badge of honor, not a scarlet letter. We believe it is time for the rating to become usable in a serious manner". aHBl9p4Y wQ75iEtG 2rPCvGg6

67th Venice Film Festival - 'Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez'.
Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez on their arrival at the 67th Venice Film Festival. The 67th annual Venice Film Festival held in Venice, Italy, took place from September 1 to September 11, 2010. American film director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino was head of the Jury. John Woo was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement prior to the start of the Festival. The opening film was Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan. The Golden Lion for the best picture In Competition was awarded to Somewhere, directed by Sofia Coppola. The Silver Lion award for best director was given to Álex de la Iglesia, for A Sad Trumpet Ballad. In a break with tradition of limiting a film to receiving no more than one major award, the Special Jury Prize and the Best Actor (the Volpi Cup) went to the same film, Jerzy Skolimowski's Essential Killing. In the past, no one film had been given two major awards, and Tarantino was forced to appeal to Festival head Marco Müller to alter the rules. This rule change will be upheld for future editions of the Festival. Following the Festival, Italian film critic Paolo Mereghetti criticised the decisions the jury made in awarding prizes, and singled out Tarantino, accusing him of favouritism. The Leone d'oro (Golden Lion) award was won by Somewhere, directed by Sofia Coppola, a film based in part on Coppola's childhood as the daughter of acclaimed director Francis Ford Coppola. Quentin Tarantino, the president of the jury that awarded the prize, hailed ...

2010 TM Master Cup Series: Round 07: Karjala Grand Prix
2010 TM Master Cup Series: Round 07: Karjala Grand Prix
The TM Master Cup series's major event -- the Karjala Grand Prix. Started as a battle between American and Soviet drivers and cars, and now the premier event in silhouette car racing. Fifteen minutes into second practice, Alexis Rainsford and Saar driver Tony Durbin did not take long to collide with each other. After Rainsford had been holding Durbin up for several corners, Durbin attempted a pass through the Dwyer S and made contact with Alexis Rainsford, sending her into the tire wall. Rainsford went to a backup car, which infuriated team owner Cyril Volpi, who believed the primary car was three tenths of a second over the rest of the field. Durbin insisted Rainsford was driving too slow through the other parts of the course. "Only that dumb b**** blocks you during practice and intentionally runs three, four seconds off your pace to spite you." Durbin said to the press. "I made a move and I guess I took her by surprise and she didn't realize blocking doesn't work when you're side by side. I don't appreciate someone running into my door." Rainsford was quick to respond to Durbin's outburst in the pit area, after being interviewed by the press. "You don't pass someone in the Dwyer S on the left side driving way over your head!" Rainsford said. "I'm pretty sure Saar has enough money to install brakes on the car, but they can't get someone to drive it who knows where the brake is, or where to pass! Tony better have a nice look at the car he's driving because I'm going to ...
