The Transgender Education Network of Texas is an organization dedicated to furthering the education of gender diversity in the State of Texas. We work to accomplish this through education and networking in both public and private forums. Through our efforts we strive to halt discrimination through social, legal, legislative and corporate education.
“If you have a gender (and even if you don't) you have a home with Transgender Education Network of Texas.”
Transgender Defined
Transgender Education Network of Texas defines the term transgender as an umbrella term for people whose gender identity, expression or behavior is different from those typically associated with their assigned sex at birth, including but not limited to transsexuals, crossdressers, androgynous people, genderqueers, and gender non-conforming people.
Transgender does not imply any specific form of sexual orientation; transgender people may identify as hetrosexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, or asexual.
The GENDER book
The GENDER book is a colorful, short book meant to educate and entertain- a sort of gender 101 for anyone and everyone.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center in New York released the following 20 minute video that talks about transgender basics such as what transgender means, etc. Take a look for yourself!
