Pointless.

And we actually LIKE Pixie Lott. But really, this isn't good enough.

A Newsdump for 10 January 2012: From Minaj being a Twitter hit to Lady Gaga not really being robotic
Story filed Tuesday, 10 January 2012
nickiminajtoy.jpgNicki Minaj is currently the most followed rapper on Twitter, just overtaking 'Roman’s Revenge' 'spitting' partner Eminem. (Billboard)

If you ever wanted to know what '¿Dónde Estás Corazón?' hitmaker Shakira and Wayne Rooney look like next to each other you’re in luck, as they both attended FIFA’s Ballon D’Or 2011 last night. (Daily Mirror) Incidentally rumours of Rooney joining a Scottish football side are not to be believed and look like they might have come from the club itself. We wonder if Shakira will continue to insist that Hibs don't lie.

Mollie from The Saturdays is 'doing a Madonna' and trying her hand at a bit of filmmaking, making a "blockbuster about the tour!!!" (Twitter) Perhaps she will find a way to factor all those 'black curtains of doom' shots into some sort of 'narrative'.

Cheryl Cole might be teaming up with notorious-picky-about-who-she-works-with chanteuse Rihanna for her new album. (Capital FM)

'Apparently' Grammy producers would quite like Adele to open the show next month, should she be able to sing properly by then. (Daily Mail)

As well as becoming an Auntie, Solange Knowles has landed herself a modeling contract with Next Model Management, who seem hell bent on signing every female singer on the planet to their books. (Huffington Post)

In 'might need to up his game a bit' news, Niall from One Direction tries to impress girls by playing the theme tune to Barney The Dinosaur on the guitar. (Daily Star) The whole 'Niall Horan' 'thing' feels to us a bit like a pop version of the Tom Hanks film Big, with a child finding himself in the body of an adult. Mind you we suppose that could just as easily describe the recent romantic endeavours of Harry Styles.

The Spice Bus may need a service and MOT, as Mel B says she would love it if the band got together for another tour. (Contactmusic)

And finally, Lady Gaga has been styled as a 'futuristic robot' ('bit silvery and topless') for the new issue of Italian Vogue. (Vogue Italia)

THAT WAS some of THE NEWS.

This is what you missed if you are an idiot

So as you no doubt noticed Nicola Roberts' solo version of Girls Aloud's legendary b-side 'Memory Of You' was dangled in front of punters as an enticement to pre-order 'Yo-Yo' on iTunes.

Well the single is now out, pre-orders cannot therefore exist, and if you were not one of the 80 people to take her up on the offer this is what you've missed out on.

That's right - only a popcultural landmark to rival the invention of the Sony Walkman. You know all those New Year's resolutions you made to be a better person in 2012? To seize opportunity, to go for what you want? YOU FAILED.

A Newsdump for 9 January 2012: From Kelly on American TV to Beyoncé giving birth to Blue Ivy
Story filed Monday, 09 January 2012
kellyclarksonsnlnew.jpgKelly Clarson looked like she was having fun performing both 'Mr Know It All' and 'Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)' on Saturday Night Live. The show got its highest ratings in a year. (Ace Showbiz)

The "fever pitch" surrounding Alexandra Burke’s comeback single 'Elephant' may be dampened ever so slightly, as the release date has been pushed back until March 11. (That Grape Juice)

Dust off your combat trousers and party like it’s 1998, the wait is finally over: Brandy and Monica are back in the studio recording together for the first time since 'The Boy Is Mine'. (Jam! Showbiz)

In 'bigger platform than they probably deserve' news, The Wanted will be performing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, which will broadcast tomorrow. (MTV)

Adam Lambert has finished his "intense" video shoot for new single 'Better Than I Know Myself'. (Examiner) It would be good if we can just skip to the album's bangers now please, thanks.

Aston Merrygold of JLS is getting a bit overexcited about going to watch the beach volleyball at the Olympics next summer, and would like to have a "naked" match against The Saturdays with Marvin and Rochelle acting as referees. (Daily Star) Maybe they could all fuck afterwards, right lads??!?!?!

There are allegedly plans for Florence & The Machine to headline an Amy Winehouse memorial concert next July, although a 'source' suggests that "nothing is set in stone yet". (Daily Mail) By which we presume they mean 'we don't yet know who'll have records out'.

Everyone’s 'favourite' rock grump Noel Gallagher has been complaining about the state of chart music, noting that the "Christmas Top of the Pops was dreadful. Every song sounded like it came from the same field of music". (Daily Mirror)

Lady Gaga has been trying her hand at French cuisine. (Twitter)

And finally, in case you’ve been asleep for the past 24 hours, Beyoncé has given birth to a baby girl and named her Blue Ivy. (The Sun) Congrats etc to her and Jay-Z.

THAT WAS some of THE NEWS.
