Belfegore – Belfegore

Belfegore hailed from Düsseldorf and quickly became part of the Neue Deutsche Welle, the ealy eighties German new wave scene. I think I may of heard this record on the John peel show although in truth my memory doesn’t serve me well. Elements of punk, industrial, goth and even hints of funk are in there. The title track Belfegore is a huge stomping industrial disco stomper that sounds just a good today as it did when I was an impressional teenager back in 1983 when it was released. This is the only record I ever heard by them although researching them now it seems they went on to record a few more. I am putting this up simply because I love it and it wouldn’t be out of place in some of todays dj’s boxes.
